Personally speaking, I think that both parties should take a step back and think carefully about the outcomes left behind, salvage all the good parts and move on in the right and positive frame of mind. The club were within their rights to ask for compensation based on past results and the club's development under Mr J.H.and the chairman was in the right to stand firm on this point. The Dundee United boss must be out of his mind to approach John Hughes and/or the club and expect NOT to have to pay a goodly sum for his services. When you think that good players go for much higher sums of money how can you underrate a Manager (who is the guy in charge of the whole development issue, for goodness sake) who has performed admirably and with courage heart and soul and over the past 1.5 years done so well. Not knowing what was discussed at Board level or what has transpired between the parties within the club, I have no further comment but one thing I do know is that Mr Cameron acted firmly and correctly and no one at the club deserves negative criticism.

  2. Just want to say a massive thanks to L_G who worked in our club shop. She was always great to speak with both in person and over the phone. She always went out of her way to help. I remember one evening she posted tickets for us on her way home from work - above and beyond the call of duty. L_G leaving is a big loss for our club. She was great with visitors, fans and tourists in the shop. To me, she was the main point of contact - the 'face' of our club - as it were. Thank you for all of your help over the years L_G. All the best for now and the future.

  5. The club gave Mr J H.ughes Yogi) a chance to rehabilitate a career in a downward dog (Yoga) position. However, in fairness, as the parents of Ernie frae Wigan once intoned...."oooh didn't he do well.? So all's fair that ends well so to speak. Yogi stuck to his guns when he encountered resistance as to his methods and that showed belief in his own precepts and his individualistic spirit, so all praise to him for that. The club also reaped the benefits of his single minded, dogged approach to training and inspiring of the team and therefore so finger pointing in either direction is a complete waste of time. Let's get on with it and all parties can work together for the good of the club. Which, ultimately is the only positive way forward for Mr Hughes and his future career. Another 3rd place finish and another Scottish cup win will have managers all over Britain knocking on ICT's door and Johnny the One will have no need to worry about his future career. IMHO.

I think it would be a bit harsh to make him unemployed when, in my opinion, he fully deserved his contract at the time and it is not his fault he was injured when he was in excellent form, don't forget he wasn't playing the Miles Storey role either but in midfield. He may still believe he has plenty to offer the team and maybe an alternative route would be for him to sign on as a player-coach.

  11. That's very harsh! We've not had a good start and things are not looking particularly rosy either but I think we all know we want to keep Yogi here. (obviously not the folk who are desperate for the day they can say "I told you so - never wanted him in the first place" but we'll ignore them) Personally, I think the manager's contract position should be considered in January and the performance of the team, now very much more his team, between now and then should be a determining factor in whether or not his contract should be renewed and on what terms.

    • Dundee United 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
      Hopes amongst the Caley Jags support were at rock bottom ahead of this one with the threat of relegation looming large. With all hands to the pumps, Shaw, Boyes and Ujdur were brought back into the squad whilst not really 100% fit. Shaw started as did Pepple and Boyes with Billy Mckay, Lawal and Danny Devine dropping to the bench. Cammy Harper was given the Captain's armband today. It's a daunting task going to the lions den to face title favourites but underdog is our preferred tag. Anyway, 252 of them turned up at Tannadice in eternal hope and Duffy heightened the intensity only for Louis Moult to level things up. That's how it ended, a result we would have bitten your hand off before kick off.

    • Inverness CT 1-2 Ayr United - Report
      Having sat through one of the worst games for many a year there is little to hope for now apart from Arbroath to keep losing because we certainly appear to find it difficult to win. We have no game changers in our squad and our manager is playing the wrong type of anti-football to help our cause. Big Dunc thought we were the better team. Pleeeeeaaase, give me a break! We were second to everything and Ayr were always one step ahead of us after the first three minutes. SHOCKER springs to mind.

    • Inverness CT 0-0 Airdrieonians - Report
      These two sides looked as though they could play for the whole of March without scoring. In terms of opportunities, the hosts probably shaded it, but when we did miss the first defender, crosses invariably went behind the incoming strikers. On the one occasion we got on the end of the ball Billy Mckay's flicked header was cleared away from goal by Kanayo Megwa.
      Not the worst 0-0 draw ever, but scoring opportunities were at a premium. Neither keeper was overly troubled and this game had scoreless written all over it given the evidence of the first twenty minutes.

    • Inverness CT -V- Airdrieonians - Preview
      Promoted Airdrie are sitting in fifth place in the table, just below the play-off places with former Caley Jag Nikolay Todorov getting amongst the goals and he will provide a big test for our central defence. We have found Airdrie a difficult proposition at times this season but we did win the last home encounter against them.

    • Morton 0-2 Inverness CT - Report
      What a start for Inverness and Billy Mckay, who answered his abusers from last week by opening the scoring in the second minute, firing into the top corner after an assist from Cammy Harper. Robbie Muirhead looked to respond but Mark Ridgers was equal to his effort in the fifth minute. Ten minutes before the interval Sean McAllister curled in a low free kick from the edge of the box to double our advantage and open his scoring account at Inverness. Plenty of bookings but no further scoring saw Inverness pick up a vital three points in the relegation battle although we still remain in ninth spot but only two points from Dunfermline in fifth.
