  1. Even if he got the faintest of touches it was still a clear penalty. You wouldn't get away with a challenge like that anywhere on the park and McKays reaction said it all. Boo hoo we never got a foul and the ref was rubbish. Every week we come up with a different excuse why we didn't win. Vigurs fault, missing penalties, not getting penalties, terrible refs, martians. There are no excuses, we just haven't performed for the majority of the season. No point in raising your game for Rangers when you can't get going against the likes of Killie and Hamilton.

  2. Yes more game time for McNaughton tomorrow night and a full game on Saturday will be great as he seemed to give the team a lift when he came on.

  3. Are people really claiming Mckay's challenge was anything other than a rash tackle and a stonewall penalty?! Good Lord!

  4. Madden was honking. Probably didn't affect the result greatly, but if I did that badly at work, I'd expect to be shown the door. I don't think anyone is using missing penalties as an excuse for not winning games. But it is a reason - just as our failure to score goals at one end and keep them out at the other is reason we are not winning

  5. Tansey should start, he's enough of a professional to get on with the job. If anything it could enhance his performance if he's looking to impress his future employers.

  6. From the BBC highlights there is one angle which makes it look as though he may have got a touch on the ball but the other angle shows he was nowhere near it. But as Celtic1Caley3 says, there was an early foul by Sammon on Brad which would not have been out of place in American Football. Even more of a stone waller but obviously not given. I suppose we can be grateful that Madden didn't penalise Warren for his well timed tackle on the ponderous Boyd.

  7. Bored earlier so decided to look up where some of these trialists ended up. Phil Marsh is now 30 and playing for Runcorn Town in the North West Counties League (the ninth tier of English football). His third club since the post quoted above. Strange to think he was at Man United, came on trial with us and then signed for Blackpool who were then in the Championship down south. Conor Henderson left Grimsby after three games and then returned to Crawley Town, whom he was at when he came on trial with us. Liam Molesworth is now at another team in England's ninth tier, Walsall Wood in the Midland League Premier Division. John Cofie (a slow lumbering former Burnley and Man United centre-forward) eventually signed for Southport after leaving AFC Telford. He also spent time on loan at Chorley and Bradford Park Avenue. Toby Ajala is now at Gateshead. Prince Rajcomar has since left Romania and is now playing in the third tier of Belgian football with KFC Oosterzonen Oosterwijk. Oliver Norburn is now at Macclesfield Town.

  8. There were a few signs of life early in the second half, but ultimately we were hanging on at the end - three great saves from OFW kept us level. That's now 1 win from the last 18 league games, which is almost half a season's worth. Our tactics left us up against it from the word go. What manager thinks it is a good idea to play five of his starting eleven out of position - Raven, Brad Mckay, Laing, Draper and Cole (who is not an inverted winger, for the love of goodness). I'm sorry, but that's just idiocy. Laing was redundant as a defensive midfielder - Killie simply kept going wide and bypassing him, whilst he offered nothing in possession. We've been so much better in recent weeks with Draper playing deeper and offering a physical presence and proper protection, allowing Tansey to concentrate on getting on the ball and making things happen. Inexplicably, Foran played Draper further forward so we had no control in midfield at all. Thus the ball was just punted over Tansey's head again and again and again. That's even though Killie rarely pressed our centre-backs. Draper as a second striker just doesn't work. He's not that good in the air, nor is he particularly good at holding up the ball. Just because the guy is big doesn't mean he can play as a target man. Mckay is so isolated it's unreal. Either concentate on trying to dominate possession (which we would have done today with Polworth/Draper/Tansey as our midfield three) so he gets decent service, or play a proper target man alongside him. Ostracizing Alex Fisher at this point is a remarkable piece of self-harm on Foran's part. I refuse to believe that we couldn't compensate for Tremarco's absence more effectively than using three different players at left-back. Brad Mckay probably isn't good enough for this level in his best position (centre-back) but at right-back he's proven himself to be dreadful. Subbing him was an act of mercy. Foran showed his 'tactical genius' by switching the full-backs in the first half after Jones had roasted Mckay for the umpteenth time...only for Killie to immediately switch Jones to the other flank so he could skin him a few times more. Well, duh. It's incredible that Foran couldn't see that coming a mile off. We were lucky no more damage was done before Mckay was hooked. It's hard to know if its lack of confidence, or lack of faith in the plan (or both) but most of the players really didn't want to be on the ball today. I lost count of the number of times that our players chose to head or punt a ball away even with no opponent within 10 yards of them. We look like a team that has already been relegated, not one who still has a fighting chance of staying up.

  9. Och Scarlet you are an awful man I hope IHE has not been leading you astray where I was in the north stand behind the goals it was a clear penalty as I seen it and all round about me had no complaints about it as for the rest of the game the ref was ******* awful although we did not do enough to win the game!

  14. Look what we have become. Point scoring referee hating bitching fans. All because we never won a game. If I recollect, we have no given right to win any game. I know, it sucks. At the risk of sounding like someone who claps happily, I thought we had as much right as Killie to stake a claim for all three points. We lost a stonewall penalty got back level and Billy Mckay was unfortunate with an excellent shot that was saved brilliantly. Fon Williams did likewise at the other end. All in, an entertaining enough game albeit frustrating for us in our position. But that's not just happened, that's because of our poor start to the season and continuing to play without pulling off wins instead of draws. I reckon we can do it, but it's going to be tight.

  15. Boyd was making these sort of challenges on Billy McKay all game long and was not penalised by the referee. At least he was consistent(ly) poor.

  17. SP I think you can dispense with the April fool now. I think if Scott Boyd had made a similar challenge on Billy McKay I don't think you'd find anyone on here that wouldn't say it was of the stone wall variety.

  19. I think Fisher has to be given a chance, pushing Draper further forward to win highballs is not working, I don't feel Draper wins enough for a start. I hope the decision to not play Fisher is a footballing one and not due to any type of falling out, managers need to maintain discipline but not at the expense of SPL football.

  20. considering where we were 2 years ago, what has happened here is pretty tragic. Since leaving Bucharest it feels like it's just a constant stream of negativity on and off the park. We absolutely deserve to be where we are now. If we want to talk about stats. We've had 4 wins in the league all season and we need at least that to stay up. It's really straw clutching time now. The league doesn't lie and up to this point we have been the worst team. No sign thats going to change. Manager has his head buried deep in the sand, even last night going on about our winning run coming soon. The way we're going he'll still be going on about it in August. It feels to me that Something isn't right at the club just now and hasn't been for some time. Something needs to change for the positive soon.

  21. Fon Williams Raven Laing McCart McNaughton Draper Tansey Mulraney Polworth Cole Mckay Get guys playing in their correct positions (other than left back where we have no cover for Tremarco)! God knows what Foran will do: Fon Williams up top and Cole in goal? No more crazy than Draper at no. 9 and wing backs with no pace.

  22. The ICT board are to blame for the predicament we find ourselves in, I know I've called for Foran to quit on the matchday thread but they are ultimately responsible for putting a man in a managerial position without managerial experience An absolutely ludicrous decision and if Foran does go they should also stand down with immediate effect as they don't have the clubs best interests at heart Dougal

  23. I find it amusing you think Tansey shouldn't feature now after his decision but it was fine for Christie to do so after he signed his pre-contract Change of heart or hidden agenda? Dougal

  24. Why are we even trying when Foran doesn't have a clue. I suspect that we are looking for damage limitation. Yet another selection and formation will just be disastrous but that is what is going to happen. Tansey should NOT be played here - if he does then - to me - Foran is done and dusted. Why don't we surprise them and go 3-4-3 ? FON WILLIAMS McCART LAING McNAUGHTON RAVEN DRAPER POLWORTH COLE MULRANEY McKAY FISHER Lose or lose by a margin and we are truly fecked.

  25. Nonsense. Fisher's chances usually amounted to substitute appearances and you could never doubt his work rate when he did play. I have no doubt his goal tally would be far better had he played more. Give me him over the hapless Boden and the hopeless Anier any day.

  26. Where in the world is Fisher? Aside from Mckay, he's our best striker by miles. This ostracisation by the manager has to end now. It could have huge consequences both in terms of whether the club stays us and whether he'll still be in-charge next season.

  29. Well, it looks like it is over to you Caley D. for an adjudication. I've used up my "last word". The video I saw was the one for the overseas fans which showed a view from lower down the park on the left side of the players. Doofers Dad said earlier that angles from the BBC show different scenarios. Doofers Dad is a very reflective gentleman and doesn't go in for histrionic remarks, remaining calm and factual. Thus he doesn't claim, for example, as some have done earlier, that Brad "never even touched the ball." DOH! Some folks on here, some of whom should know better, make Smart Alec, abusive comments at the remarks I made but no one has specified the rules regarding penalties and detailed conclusively why it was, in their view, a clear-cut penalty. Their comments are more histrionic than explanatory. Manfer, my specs are fine thank you and my last trip to the ophthalmologist a couple of months ago elicited the following remark "considering your age your sight is remarkable." and I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. So I now invite you to explain the penalty rules that apply in this case since you clearly feel that my knowledge base on this issue needs updating. Maybe you are right and I look forward to your detailed comments. My point was that he went for the ball and my video shows he got it fair and square and in the way I described it. The other videos on here also show, in plain sight, that Brad did get the ball and then the other player's momentum made him fall over Brad's legs -- NOT his feet which had already passed the Killie player's legs. The Killie boy was not injured in any way so there was NO direct contact, nor deliberate intent to injure, from Brad. These are facts, not emotional reactions. This was an impetuous and harsh decision from a very poor referee and it might easily relegate our team this season. So think about that, true non-swimmer fans, before jumping into a very deep pool without your lifebelt.

  30. This is my final word on the penalty incident V Kilmarnock. I finally found my match password in the wastebasket and used it to go to Donald's video again, the video for overseas listeners, and reviewed the incident SEVERAL more times just to make sure I didn't miss anything. Here is what I saw :- In the outfield, quite close to the Caley end of the pitch, Kilmarnock dispossessed our player fairly and then passed the ball forward into open space for his player to get. The Killie player quickly latched on to it and started his run towards the goal. At which point in comes Brad at speed and deliberately went directly for the ball, NOT, the player. In fact, had Brad stayed upright on his feet instead of doing his thing, that player would by now probably be a flat pancake and, yes, that WOULD have been a fair penalty. Brad hit the ball BANG-ON. It bobbled and immediately got tangled up in the Killie player's boots with force and went OFF him and out for a bye kick to ICT. Brad did not appear to hit the player's legs at all with his boots since by then the Killie lad was already airborne AND if the ball had not hit the Killie player at all then it would have gone straight out into touch for a throw-in to Killie. To the doubters :- There is too much at stake here... 2 lost points is a massive downer and this goal could completely ruin our season and relegate us to even think of this being an April Fool's joke. There was no intent whatsoever showing on this video by Brad Mackay to stop, or injure, the Killie player and the tackle was actually fair and well executed. Unless the rules say that a SHORT sliding tackle which is specifically directed at, and gets, the ball is a crime then he is not at fault. Why Brad Mackay is being pilloried by some folks on here is ridiculous and unfair. And so is this penalty award to Killie. Remember that the ball was so close to the moving Killie player's feet that any tackle against the ball would have upended him, regardless. My blunt assessment is that the referee made another blunder just because the attacking player fell down despite the fact that he was never actually touched. I suggest that a link to the incident on video should be put up here so that others can judge the issue for themselves. It's not at all like what some folks imagine. It happened very quickly so, for me to fully appreciate it, I had to focus on different points in the frame each time I re-run it to get the actual full picture. So I have written to Mr. Kenny Cameron asking him to please review the video very carefully and if necessary request the SFA to rescind the goal. I believe this video clearly demonstrates what I claim, above. If you agree you can do the same. Thank you.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.
