  1. Absolute garbage. Just because you like going on the pish in Ayr, Dumfries, etc.doesn't make this good for the club I'm any way. Relegation would be an absolute disaster, even more so if our neighbours stay up. The real blame here needs to reside at the door of the clueless, faceless board who are utterly invisible and show no direction, vision or aptitude to manage a Premiership club.

  2. Foran is a total dud as a manager - has there ever been a worse manager in Scottish football? Certainly not many. He inherited a decent side, quickly turned us to shite, and doesn't have a clue how to sort it.

  3. We had this discussion in January and, no doubt, will have it again at the end of the season. However, personally, I don't believe right now is the time for this debate. Rather, it's the time for pulling together and trying to dig ourselves out of this hole we find ourselves in.

  4. Did I miss anyone. Oh aye, wtf does Brian Rice do, get him off the wage bill now. Regards Mr Noah Happy Bunny xxx Edited to add....... Hats off to Tommy Wright who has once again shown that he can work miracles with a mediocre bunch of players. I'm almost convinced that season on season we have better individuals, but as a team and a stubborn one at that, St Johnstone buck the trend and rip up the form books every season. Well played them and Tommy Wright.

  5. Well, that was a kick in the teeth. We were well on top for the whole of the first half, and certainly looked the more likely to score (though that wasn't saying much) until Cole's moment of lunacy. And then the team went completely to pieces; St. Johnstone could have scored two more in injury time as we basically lay down and let them walk through us. It was humiliating. McCart, McNaughton, Mckay and Polworth (after he was brought on) can hold their heads high. The rest of them should be embarrassed by their poor performances and complete lack of fight. The three goals we conceded were all embarrassing - Fon Williams blundered for the first, a stupid penalty given away for the second and a third goal that St. Johnstone literally walked in to the net because all of our players had given up. Bad teams concede bad goals...and every week we seem to concede really bad goals. It's hard to fault Foran for his lineup because the first half display was very decent - though it was typical that the day we finally started with a target man was the day that we decided to pass the ball instead of hoof it - but he takes a decent amount of blame for the way we fell apart. We finished the game with three strikers and no right back in some sort of 3-3-3 formation because he decided to bring on Boden even though Cole had been sent off. I know other results mean we aren't completely doomed, but it sure feels that way. We need to start thinking about next season's Championship. If we can afford to, we need to change manager now - not to save us, not even Jock Stein could keep this lot up - but so the new guy has time to get us prepared properly for next season. There is no reason left to stick with Foran - 1 WIN IN 21!!! - apart from the cost of paying off the remaining years of his contract.

  6. 4pts behind with 6 games left. We play our now closest rivals motherwell twice and need wins in both games just to hopefully get off the bottom spot. 1 win in 21 games until now and a team bereft of ideas and confidence. Foran should walk tonight and the club seek Rice to step up or tell him to go too and we see what happens, I think ithts safe too say he's lost the dressing room and the players, so sadly we need change now. The foran fan boys will say he can turn it round, he was a great player etc but in the last 3 years his only telling contribution to the club is to make us an on field shambles.

  7. It's not too late to bring in a proper manager, get a new manager bounce and have a chance of staying up. It's our only chance.

  8. Still shell-shocked and in a rip of a mood. First half, we were decent, but had that look of a team that had no confidence in front of goal, with hurried shots or taking too much time. Then the sucker punch, which was yet another soft goal. We were OK for spells in the 2nd half, but only created a couple of decent chances.....then.... WTF were the subs about?! Our best 2 players had been McCart and McNaughton....both subbed! Thee defence from then on was an utter mare. Cole's sending off was petty and stupid. Warren's in the tunnel is inexcusable and simply reflected his horror show for the last 20 min. The only good thing to come from today is that Foran will have to play McCart and Laing in a back four....but who knows what he'll do?! Foran should have fallen on his sword long ago if hereally loved the club as much as he claims. He is frankly deluded and clueless, but I'm afraid it is too late even of he were to do the honourable thing (which he won't). The game is up and my heart goes out to those that will lose their jobs as a consequence. If you add the youth academy to the likely list of casualties, the final link with the community will be broken. Things are so bad that I even think bringing in a certain Judas TB would be qoeth considering - and I absolutely hate him!

  9. We had a few really decent chances to equalise at 0-1 and extended periods of pressure against a top 4 team. Games against St J are always tight but the red card completely and utterly killed the game after Foran had already gone much more attack-minded with substitutions in an attempt to get something from the game. He should have played Polworth from the start. The ref certainly seemed to hail from Perth which didn't help in what had been a tight game pre-sending off.

  10. Rice is the issue i would say. He sits most of the games and lets Foran get on with it. Did Foran have a choice in the picking him? Terry Butcher as a director of football role

  11. Grim stuff at TCS this afties. Im afraid all signs are that ICT are going down. There is just no sign of any hope, at the end of what has been a very draining season. As a matter of interest. Anyone like to hazard a guess as to how much it would take to pay Richie off now? For me...the Board has to take the lions share of the blame for where ICT find themselves. The Top League is not the place to hand a rookie manager a 4 year contract.

  12. An absolute car crash against a team who have nothing to play for. Anyone who 'still believes' is just lying to themselves now. We have been horrific all season culminating in that today. poor defending - check soft goals conceded - check No creativity - check tombola selection - check embarrassing amateur league control and passing - check A complete clearout from top to bottom is required in my opinion.

  13. My option for an Accies win is not about the short term. If County were to win then that puts them further out of the equation, then there were four. Remember we still have to play these teams in bottom six games and these will be real six-pointers. I toggled between a draw or an Accies win and thought safety in numbers was the better option, ie keeping Accies, Motherwell, County and Dundee within striking distance once we enter the last five games. I couldn't care less if County were relegated or stayed up, but if it's at our expense then that would raise my eyebrows. There's not a lot between the other four sides and ourselves in terms of quality. Points will be won and lost and relegation will be decided by fine margins. Of course, it's all hypothetical, should results not go as hoped for, then relegation is the only option available to us. Makes for an interesting last seven games whether we like it or not. On the other hand, it's not inconceivable for us to jump a few places, but that is dependant on stringing a few wins together. That's something we have been unable to do all season.

  14. Not if they get sent off in the tunnel! I said this the other day, and nobody reacted. So I'll say it again. If our players are as good as some folks here make out, why haven't THEY done something to sort themselves out? Experienced pros, playing at the top level in the country, should be able to see where the problems are, and then try to address them. I agree that the manager and coaching staff should take a lot of the stick, but the players themselves are not blameless.

  15. Was at the game, but can't honestly think of anyone who deserves any points. I may be getting old, but I remember when my team used to play the ball fast and on the ground using speedy wingers and were actually a threat in front of goal. Lots of ball going sideways and backwards and too slow going forward.

  16. Sorry but we CURRENTLY have a squad of players capable of Top Six. If we had produced performances we would have attracted a few more in attendance figures BUT the team have simply have not been managed properly. Again Foran was an average player, played fer the shirt, gave everything, was popular BUT had no experience of coaching or managing and unfortunately has FAILED. The BOARD are to blame fer promoting him taking a massive risk, probably because he was cheap and THEY gave him a long term contract in the HOPE that he would succeed. THE BOARD ARE ULTIMATELY TO BLAME FER THIS. Unless we clear the Board OR get ONE voice in control - ONE who has football experience - and get in some experienced coach we will linger outside the top league fer ever.

  17. Where does one start. I'll start with Laing. I lost count of the number of passes he sprayed into the stands or out of the park. Shockingly poor distribution. Drape I'm afraid looks a spent force. Warren same as Draper and apparently sent off in the tunnel. Bye Bye Gary. Fon Williams......... I just don't know anymore, palmed the sharp cross right into the feet of the St Johnstone strikers. Only Miles Storey could miss a chance like that. Kev played well enough but maybe needs more stamina as he was subbed, McCart, never really noticed him but on the other hand he probably never did much wrong. Cole looked lively at times. Aggrieved to be sent off, and rightly so. Fouled as he broke forward, spoke to the ref who booked him, must have said something else and was sin binned. Tansey not perfect but probably the best of a bad bunch. Tremarco Gave away the penalty and never threatened enough going forward. That's probably credit to St Johnstone who had us sussed and shut us down high up the park. Fisher, wanted more game time, got it, and vindicated Foran's decision not to play him more often. Billy, well he always gives his all but even he was getting frustrated at the lack of opportunities being created. King played well when he came on, reminded us how it felt like to play with a winger at times. Polworth should have been on from the start and Boden was....... well Boden, absolutely anonymous. This may all seem a bit harsh, but it's been coming in our season of demise. As for Richie Foran, a really likeable geezer, but give me a break. I know quite a few guys that went out of their way at the end to express their displeasure rather than make their way to the nearest hostelry to drown their sorrows. All is not lost yet, but it's very close to becoming our second relegation.

  20. And that's that. Goodnight. What a horrific appointment Foran has been. I had such high hopes but it's just not worked out, perhaps if he spent any of his time on the training ground it would help. I know we were down to 10 men but the last 10min were a shambles. No one had any clue what was going and if St. Johnstone had scored 6 it wouldnt have surprised me.

  23. I for one can not see any light at the end of the tunnel tbh. I really think appointing RF was a big mistake - I hoped I was wrong but it doesn't look that way the moment. I can't see us avoiding the drop with the current tactics. We're not creating chances or putting them away when we do. We need goals (and stop leaking them) and we're not getting them. We still have talented players in the squad but the gaffer doesn't know how to play them from what I can see. Experience is everything when fighting a relegation battle and RF haven't got this. Please prove me wrong RF.

  24. I know we are all down tonight and being rightly critical, but at risk of being shot down, now is the time the players need us as their 12th man. For all of us, let's get behind them in the next six games and do all we can to salvage our season and keep our top league status. If we can achieve that, we can then debate who our Manager and players should be, but for now we have what we have and need to do our bit in our bid to survive. Recent years have been good, despite the agony of the penalty kick loss at Parkhead in the League Cup. I will never forget the cup semi at Hampden, and us all joining in with the chants of "stand up for the Caley Jags". Now, more than ever, we need that spirit and support, not just in Section E but in the full stadium. Then there was the cup final.... My best ever day as a fan..... The best hangover excuse ever. Europe was brief and I only managed the home game, but an experience for a small club like us. It all seems a lifetime ago, so much has changed in less than two years, but let's make our support count where if matters: at the games by being loud, positive and behind the players. We need to play our part. It's now or, I dread to think, possibly never!

  27. In two minds about todays performance. A) We played some of the best passing football I've seen this season, dominated the game for about 80 minutes and created enough chances to be 3 or 4 goals up. B) Failed to take any of our numerous chances, conceded soft goals, had no plan B and fell to pieces against an opponent who didn't even play well. It's the same story week after week. St Johnstone looked a very mediocre team there for the taking. That such a limited side are a whopping 24 points ahead of us tells the story of how pathetic a season we've had so far. Cole's red card was a disgrace. Yes the referee had a shocker, but FFS to continue hurling abuse at him even after he's just shown you a yellow for dissent is pub league stuff. That this happened literally seconds before he was about to be substituted sums up our luck at the moment. As the saying goes, when you're down the bottom absolutely nothing goes your way. If Warren got himself red carded in the tunnel that's also a disgrace. To be fair he's probably one of the most committed, passionate players to ever wear a Caley shirt and I can only imagine the frustration he was feeling out there but FFS man! This meltdown might actually be a blessing in disguise if it forces Foran (or whoever is managing us next week) to revert to a back 4 with Laing (NOT A MIDFIELDER!) at centre half. Can't deny that Warren is having a shocking season, but he's not alone in that regard (Draper, Vigurs, Fon Williams etc). For those saying he's 'done' I would say there's been a massive regression in performance levels across the board this season. A change in training methods, game preparation, system and tactics could be just the jump start he (and our whole team!) needs. The whole 'who should be bin next season' conversation currently taking place is putting the cart before the horse IMO.

  28. Decide to google "Stephen Finnie referee" to see what today's ref was about. One of the top hits was a Pie & Bovril thread headed "Stephen Finnie - Worst Referee in Scotland?" ... an entertaining and illuminating read. Had I read it beforehand, nothing at today's game would have been a surprise.

  29. It's amazing how we looked like a decent team when we beat Ranger's, but we haven't got anywhere near the formation or results since then! I'm hearing Warren was sent off after the match for something he said in the tunnel, that may be a blessing in disguise as McCart, Laing and McNaughton should probably be contesting the two CB places (although I see McNaughton went off with an hour to go...was he injured? I'm assuming Mulraney is not fully fit, as he didn't get on the pitch today, meanwhile Boden, who for a long time looked like 'persona non grata' did! I appreciate John Hughes rather flounced off in a huff at the end of last season, but it's hard to be convinced that the board has played a good hand over the past year. I was rather hoping we might stay up via the play-offs, but I now I'm looking at possible away trips in the championship for next year!

  31. The problem is, unless Foran walks (i cant see that happeneing) we would need to pay off 3 yrs on his contract. Likely cost the club £150k. Thats a lot of money for a club our size, who are likely to see a massive drop in revenue next season

Try and get someone in for last 6 games to try and get some drive back. Dont even know who could come in for short term only name thats comes to my mind is Alex Neil but even he would probably run a mile

  34. I don't think that we should call for forans head completely but look for him to learn under an experienced manager. That is the curiosity that although finances dictated our decision we didn't go that route and let him learn. I think the board need to be held responsible for this mess in being complacent and giving foran a 4 year contract because the squad is still good. Goes to show how much influence a manager can have and I'm afraid in this case it is very negative. Brian rice was supposed to be the experienced hand but ever since he came in the club has gone backwards even in Hughes last season. I like Richie, his passion for the club and area and his leadership skills he could bring to the role but not all players make good coaches or managers after they finish and clearly he hasn't got the tactical and even coaching side to be successful. That's not to say he won't be successful in his managerial career but at this time i think it is way to early and either he steps down and learns under a new man or goes completely because relegation is almost a certainty and even if we did squeek out of this will next season be any different? We are a small club so not expecting to win the league or get top 6 each season but are we under a foran going to be a Hamilton and always be in this fight each season when we had looked a safe prem main stay. And if we go down are we going to get back up like last time, looks like it could be a while.

  37. He doesn't have the ability to get us from the Championahip back up to the top flight. We are however tied, in that he was given a 4 yr contract!!!!!! The board should apologise at the end of the season for their bad appointment based on finances and convenience.

  38. Another lacklustre performance. Surely the players know we are in a relegation battle, yet they played with such a lack of urgency and desire, that it was embarrassing!!!! Getting beat by 3 goals AT HOME when we should be fighting for our Top flight survival, shows me there is no chance of staying up !!!!

  41. I'm pretty despondent right now with regards ICT, I think we are looking at the demise of our club as a top flight team, I really do. We can't buy a win, we don't look like getting a win and I think the manager has blown his lot on trying to figure out how to get the best formation and how to get the best from the players, according to some sources Foran is pretty thrawn and does not seem to be able to take advice from the coaching team around him. Some of the team set-ups have been questionable and tactics pretty naive, i'm sure the players can and surely want to perform better but the moral must be low as the pressure increases. As for the club, We have not moved on from our early days after promotion to the SPFL, Still the portacabin plonked outside, still dodging mud and puddles going to the shop/toilets and this to the sad stuff on the pitch and it's not much of an enjoyable matchday experience i'm afraid. Anyway, i'm off for a malt, and i'll be there on Saturday hoping and shouting the players on to maybe a win.

  43. From an Inverness point of view, I just can't see any justification for looking for a Hamilton win, or even a draw. For Inverness, the rest of the season is totally about overtaking one or preferably both of Hamilton and Motherwell. Anyone else overtaken would merely be a welcome bonus but I really don't see any case at all to wish for any outcome that gives Hamilton or Motherwell points - even if it disadvantages County. Safety is the supreme - indeed really the only - consideration and in comparison, the hope of catching County pales into complete insignificance.

  48. Sadly can't argue with any of that Caley100. Even the unlikely event of a Houdini effort to escape the drop will only paper over the cracks. Bottom line is we don't get enough through the gate - there was no bounce from winning the oldest football trophy on the planet. An annual basline loss of £250k ish can only be serviced by winning major trophies or selling talent. There's nothing left to improve the team or facilities. Community club here we come.

  49. Well, it looks like it is over to you Caley D. for an adjudication. I've used up my "last word". The video I saw was the one for the overseas fans which showed a view from lower down the park on the left side of the players. Doofers Dad said earlier that angles from the BBC show different scenarios. Doofers Dad is a very reflective gentleman and doesn't go in for histrionic remarks, remaining calm and factual. Thus he doesn't claim, for example, as some have done earlier, that Brad "never even touched the ball." DOH! Some folks on here, some of whom should know better, make Smart Alec, abusive comments at the remarks I made but no one has specified the rules regarding penalties and detailed conclusively why it was, in their view, a clear-cut penalty. Their comments are more histrionic than explanatory. Manfer, my specs are fine thank you and my last trip to the ophthalmologist a couple of months ago elicited the following remark "considering your age your sight is remarkable." and I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. So I now invite you to explain the penalty rules that apply in this case since you clearly feel that my knowledge base on this issue needs updating. Maybe you are right and I look forward to your detailed comments. My point was that he went for the ball and my video shows he got it fair and square and in the way I described it. The other videos on here also show, in plain sight, that Brad did get the ball and then the other player's momentum made him fall over Brad's legs -- NOT his feet which had already passed the Killie player's legs. The Killie boy was not injured in any way so there was NO direct contact, nor deliberate intent to injure, from Brad. These are facts, not emotional reactions. This was an impetuous and harsh decision from a very poor referee and it might easily relegate our team this season. So think about that, true non-swimmer fans, before jumping into a very deep pool without your lifebelt.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.
