  1. And when we beat them we'll only need to win half of our remaining games to be in with a chance of staying up

  5. Who said he didn't? Either Foran takes a strop, quits (as he has absolutely no hand over the board), fails to get the job he is desperate for, leaves football to be a delivery driver a la Duncan Shearer and looks on as Paul Sheerin or someone takes charge with Foran thinking 'I should have taken my chance'! Or he takes the job and shuts up. Those are the only choices. And Foran has a depth of belief in himself only outdone by Roy Keane. Misplaced or not. It's not the first time the latter has happened. Brewster and Park were not on speaking terms either and muddled through undermining each other (although Brew could claim the high ground - he was the one supposed to make decisions) as Park still had a contract to fulfil. It's not Rice's fault that he was taken on to play a completely different type of football for another manager. The chances of him being snapped up by another club are doubtful, in the short-term at least. I'm not surprised he stayed. But the Board should have recognised it's not working and taken even a temporary solution much earlier.

  6. Sorry but I am being serious. Am I really the only one who is giving this poor guy any support? Waken up and smell whatever - it is the effin manager who has fekin destroyed us.

  8. If that were the case Foran should have had the balls to tell his chair that he didn't want him by his side compo or not!

  9. I'm all in favour of using public money to lure multinationals who would otherwise not be located here, but in the case of Amazon, they need a regional distribution centre in Scotland and will be here with or without subsidies. Laurence's points are not always valid, but if I was an independent bookseller I too would be fuming that a mega rich business that already has so many competitive advantages was being given taxpayers money too that isn't available to me.

  10. I'm surprised people are mentioning what Malpas got up to before and after ICT, without concentrating on what he did here. Why hasn't Malpas been in management for two years? Because of the disaster of Hibs. How did he get the Hibs job? Because of the success he had at ICT. Someone else brought up the relegation event, without mentioning ICT were promoted and leaving when we were (IIRC) second top and in the semi-final of a cup. Malpas was a roaring success at ICT. It's a great idea to get him back and see if that can be replicated. Malpas sat in the Inverness dugout when Butcher was with the Hibs Chair in the stand. Yes, he left, but he did so with dignity, unlike the manager at the time. Yes, it's very late - maybe too late - but it's a good idea. And I'd be happy to see Mo stay, even with relegation. As for Brian Rice...it's an open secret that he and Foran don't gel. No surprise, given Rice is a tipp-tappy Hughes assistant, whilst Foran is from the kick-and-rush school of Butcher'n'Malpas. It was always a marriage of convenience.

  11. Interesting response from someone who has complete contempt for the current state of affairs and constantly greets about it but has no intention of moving somewhere more suitable elsewhere in the world. If it's ok for you to stay and try to change the things you don't like then why not Laurence? Nationalist hypocrisy at its finest.

  12. Would that be the majority who thought that, by voting NO, they would be guaranteed to remain in the EU, as opposed to being refused membership of it by the other EU countries if we voted YES, as continually stated as fact by the Better Together crew and sundry unionist politicians? . That majority? Another independence referendum will let us see exactly how big that majority is now, won't it?

  13. 35 seconds into the video sums it up for me ..... 'if we go down, then we go down together !' . I have (purposely) stayed pretty silent on this topic and watched from the sidelines as posts have varied in almost every degree from one extreme to the other. Relegated or not, just like last year, I will be there on the last day of the season showing my support to team and club. Personally, I believe MM is a last throw of the dice as it's too late to replace RF now and have any chance of staying up. If we were going to do that we should have done it months ago, but I think the board - like most of us - really, REALLY wanted to RF to succeed (and still do) and most of us, the board included, were hesitant to pull the plug or ask for him to go. There is possibly also the issue of compensation if he was sacked but none of us know the terms of the contract so that aspect is hard to say. We may still go down with RF/MM combo but if we do then we have to pull together to try and bounce back (again). The gulf in the parachute payment and league money was reduced between divisions when the SPL/SFL became the SPFL but its still significant. If we are all bickering amongst ourselves then the extremely difficult task of trying to bounce back in a year or two might become impossible. If its any consolation, I do see parallels with Toronto FC !!! TFC were absolute s*** under manager Aron Winter and after he was sacked we were just as bad with his former #2 Paul Mariner who also ended up sacked and then Ryan Nelson who got the same treatment .... but then the club gave the job to managerial newbie Greg Vanney. His first season in charge - with high profile signings like Michael Bradley, Jermain Defoe, Julio Cesar (loan), and Gilberto - ended in turmoil after failing to make the playoffs, Defoe basically walking out, and many calling for Vanney's head due to tactical naivety .... but after all that, he quietly got through the off season, swapped Defoe for Altidore at Sunderland, brought in Sebastian Giovinco and a few other decent if unspectacular signings and TFC reached the playoffs for the first time in their short history before going out to Didier Drogba's Montreal. Last year it all clicked for Vanney and TFC reached the MLS Final eventually losing out to Seattle ... this year no-one is questioning Vanney's abilities despite starting the season slowly (1 win, 4 draws, 1 defeat). He has grown from being a 'rookie' manager thrown in at the deep end into the one with the best managerial record for TFC ever !!! I also find it quite strange that last year, on the final day of the season, Kenny was getting plaudits from the fans in the stadium for having a laugh and a joke with David Raven on the park, clearly to Yogi's chagrin ... yet here we are less than a year later and he seems to be the devil incarnate. As Jimmy Greaves used to say ... "Its a funny old game!" . Many believe the appointment of RF to be a mistake, and the length of contract to be silly, and perhaps it is with the benefit of hindsight ... but how many of the folk saying that have ever mentioned RF as a possible manager when going through rough spells under Butcher or Hughes ? Quite a few I would wager ! I know Kenny, I class him as a friend as well as chairman of our club and I know how much work he has done for our club over the 15+ years he has been involved either as a board member or as chairman. He will be hurting just as much as the rest of us, and he will be more than aware of mistakes that have been made, but equally I have no doubt he will look for solutions too whether that is to stop the slide or to have a plan in place to regain our top flight status if we are relegated. We accomplish nothing with all the in-fighting and back-biting .... If ICT do go down then we do it together, and we come back up together ! Following ICT has always been a roller-coaster ride ... and it always will be ... enjoy it !

  14. This also underlines the fact that Scottish votes count for absolutely nothing; in their own words Scotland is a 'problem' to be resolved, a voice to be silenced.

  15. It is appalling but until a majority of us have the courage to take our destiny into our own hands, it is a sad reality.

  16. This only underlines the truth that Scotland's destiny is in the hands of another country with a completely different political culture. It's appalling.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

    • Inverness CT -V- Raith Rovers - Preview
The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.
