  1. There was a lot to take in and Barry Wilson was chipping in too so between them both they touched on .squad size too big, no opportunities for U20's, players wages structure, lack of proper scouting network, concern in youth for about job security, players signed without someone looking at them, an SPL club selling merchandise out of a portakabin, no crowd bounce despite cup win, Foran saying he "needs men" - Charlie rubbishing that and saying we need committed footballers. "Defending is the easy bit of the game". RF wanting a team of 11 RF's. Lack of a team shape, trying to play with a no 10 using players who aren't no10's. Losing the dressing room. Not investing transfer windfalls. What was going wrong tactically on the night. Comparison with slicker club operation at County. Some fans having unrealistic expectations. Recognition of Roy McGregor and plea for ICTFC benefactor to step forward. I sensed he was as angry as the rest of us. There was just no doubting his passion for club and disappointment. Really was a must listen.

  2. I owe a lot of fellow posters a profound apology. You argued that there should be change in January to save our season and our Premiership status, I argued that Foran had potential and should be given time to put things right. I am so very sorry, you were all right and I was entirely wrong. Foran is getting worse as the season goes on rather than better, It's quite clear now that he can't coach, he is no tactician and he can't inspire and that he is never going to be capable of doing these things. His attempt this evening to heap blame on the players rather than take any responsibility himself was contemptible. The players are good enough for mid table. The manager has proved that he is not good enough for the Highland League. The fight for Premiership survival is lost. Nevertheless, we can't drift for the rest of the season. Foran needs to be gone by Monday either of his own volition or at the hands of the increasingly discredited board. This season is lost and was a complete shambles. We need now to get someone who can manage in to start preparing for life in the Championship to give us any chance at all of recovery.

  4. Just getting round to reading the post match comments from RF. 'We lack warriors' - that'll be why our most combative player was benched. I have stated before that out of all the teams we lacked the experience and mentality to fight relegation in comparison to motherwell, Hamilton and killie - shame it's taken til game 34 for the management to recognise it although coming out in the media now will only open the dressing room divide and crush confidence further. Bad comments and worse timing now.#lost the plot

  5. I'm astonished at the number of fans saying this recently. We were all delighted when those potential moves were knocked back, we are all sick of our biggest assets being pinched on the cheap by rival clubs. We'd all have been raging if we'd lost those 2 at those times.

  6. Fisher did ok at fullback as he did when he was playing up front . Sez it all about Foran that in the window he wasted his meagre budget bringing in McKay ,Ebbe and Anier when the answer was under his nose all along but refused to play him.

  9. The club is a shambles. From top to bottom change is needed across all levels - Board, coaching, players. I have lived across the UK and in every place I have lived I've followed and supported the local team - that was until I came to Inverness. The product being sold being the stadium, the team, the vision is non existent. The engagement with the city is really poor - I coached school level for 6 years and there was virtually no engagement of any sort from the club, in fact a senior member at the club actively disengaged with the coaches. Fans are treated badly, the Board - well if they operated like that in a business world they would be sacked or bankrupt. ICT has massive potential but only with a young, fresh forward looking positive board.

  12. JH's public criticism of the board was his way of manufacturing his exit. He had the biggest budget of any ICT in history and was moaning publicly about the lack of money. He did well with Butcher's team but couldn't bring in talent himself. He had to go.

  14. With respect it's not up to Caman to figure it out. He pays his hard earned money just like Celtic and Rangers fans do. I know the club has little or no money but that doesn't mean we can't want more. As a season ticket holder I put my money in every season as a fan. What exactly do the board put in without wanting anything back? Half of them are involved in property or construction somehow and the stadium is a shabby rundown embarrassment. Even a lick of paint would do wonders. Get rid of that barnacle of a club shop as well.

  15. Given the fan base of the club, given the overall resources of the club, given the overall state of Scottish football - notwithstanding the enormous wealth and power of Celtic FC - how would you Caman go about helping the club?

  17. Right so I understand the obvious frustrations with foran and I ain't happy at our worst season In years... but this is how I think it will (and financially has to) go. it would cost upwards of £150k to boot foran before we consider rices contract. we are highly likely to be going down and will lose money. I can't see the board punting foran with the potential costs involved (unless there are any clauses we don't know about) no one new is going to change what happens in 4 games and that is a fact. richie will most likely stay and will be booted if after 3/4 months we aren't in the top two of the championship should our relegation be confirmed in the next few days. I am not saying I am entirely happy with this but rather than kill the club completely maybe we have to accept this severe injury and rehabilitate the best we can. im sure lots of you will disagree and that's fine but I'm trying to be realistic about what will happen and not go on about what I want to happen. i will forever support the club as that is what a true fan does - through the good and the bad. Let's hope this will be the low point and we build and become a strong club once again.

  18. Get him out and get him out today. The result has ruined my weekend already, it can only improve if I hear Foran has left the club. A joke of a manager.

  19. Wholesale change needed. We're going down. Sack the board. We need investment, new ideas, new direction.

  20. Was his on-air critique of the club a statement of intent to take over, or would he like to stay in the background? 35 years of experience as he says; does he want to be back in the spotlight? Would this be a good thing?

  21. Don't think this is a good shout. A legendary player, but insufficient managerial credentials. His only previous experience in management ended in failure. Don't forget he left us bottom of the league below Gretna! Poor signings, Highland League tactics and cringe-worthy post-match interviews. Sound familiar? We need to learn from our mistakes. Wouldn't begrudge him a role as an interim figure, but not a long term solution. Nobody should be earmarked for the role. Advertise it openly - far and wide, and give it to the best candidate who applies. Common sense. Why settle for someone local?

  22. Agreed JH had to go He worked the situation to his advantage and left the club with money in his pocket (money the club could ill afford). That's why the cheap option was taken in appointing Ritchie. In private industry and you were promoting somebody into a more senior post, but this person was untried in and lacked experience, it would be on a trial basis of 3 or 6 months (a common practice) and not 4 years, Ritchie must have been smiling all the way to his Bank Manager asking for a mortgage. This is why the Board must go and go quick. Let's try and get proper businessmen in to run our club. IT IS THE BOARD WHO ARE RELEGATING OUR CLUB

  23. i assume he wouldn't go back as manager but he could play a great role as the DoF or something similar, responsible for the football side of things within the club, including having a large say in appointments and strategy. No-one else on the board seems to have the slightest idea of football, or any relevant experience. I would have a lot more faith in Charlie than anybody else, especially when it comes to rebuilding the club, appointing a new manager and getting new players in. Foran out, Christie in.

  25. In my view his position is completely untenable now. His press comments only add to the depth of the hole he has dug for himself. He should resign in the next few weeks, and take some responsibility instead of childishly trying to blame everybody else. After he leaves he will blame ICT, who gave him the chance of his career. We need to look to the future now.

  26. The last 15 minutes felt like hours. We barely touched the ball while the County youth lads came on and past the ball round us like it was a training exercise. Stayed until the end to applaud Fisher though. At least he deserved some credit.

  28. Reality check please! Fans need to stop living in the past and start living in the present, it is irrelevant now as to how much Richie gave as a player. There is no doubt that as a manager he has failed this club and will undoubtedly go down in history as a manager who lacked experience and the insight to know when to walk away so yes GTF Richie!

  29. Foran said post match we needed "nasty lads" so why the hell was Ross Draper on the bench last night. He is the one player you can rely on getting stuck in and winding the opposition up. Forans comments after games are embarrassing and show just how out of his depth he is. Nothing he says makes any sense.

  30. What can i honestly say about last night....... Absolute shambles a huge disgrace to the fans foran has to go and go now!!! If we don't change anything now we are heading for further relegations. Championship will be hugely hard. We aren't the pride of the Highlands now we are the embarrassments of the Highlands. On aspects of these so called rumours? Richie lost the dressing room weeks ago after a incident at half time don't remember what game it was but it was shocking to even hear about. Sad but people will lose jobs and budget will be drastically reduced.

  31. As I've stated in the past, I'm not so bothered by pyro but that throwing on of a smoke bomb onto the park towards the end of the first half was ridiculous. We had an attack and then got a corner out of it. We were 2-0 down and for once had some momentum on our side and a goal from the corner could've changed the whole game. Yet just the corner is about to be taken some moron throws a smokebomb onto the park disrupting the game for a good minute or so, sapping our momentum away. If the club can identify who that was, they should ban them for gross stupidity.

  32. GTF is too harsh for someone who contributed so much as a player. However, I do agree that no matter how good and committed he was as a player for us, he has proved to be a hopeless and clueless manager with no sign of improving. On the contrary, he is getting worse and worse and has to go or be made to go and go now.

  33. Simple. If directors or owners of a business make poor decisions it costS them money. It is now time for our directors to PERSONALLY PAY for their decisions which have placed our club in this position Should they decide not to - they shoukd step aside NOW. Ps Well done CC for speaking the truth but I sincerely hope they don't punish you for telling it.

  34. Reference to the Govan cheats indicates that you are hinting at liquidation rather than administration? My guess is that the gains from Ryan Christie's sale and the cup victory simply fed the annual £250k or more baseline running loss of this club, turning the apparent very small profits over the past few years. Some might have preferred investment in players, infrastructure and youth. I think we can expect a big red number in the next ICT accounts, given this season's poor attendances, loss of prize money and poor cup runs + no player sales. I doubt it will be enough for liquidation, but will certainly ring alarm bells. No cash simply ties the club in knots, with no flexibility to react to situations and always having to take the cheap option - evidence, Richie Foran's knee-jerk appointment and persistence as manager. There is no excuse for the 4 year contract - that was just pure madness. The board will be kicking themselves now for not forcing Hughes to sell Tansey to Aberdeen last year. Yes, he's been a good player for the club, but ultimately we're still going down this year and he's still going to Aberdeen, so the only effect is that we're £200k worse off. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Tough times are certainly ahead and will require a fresh approach and new investment otherwise it will be part-time football.

  35. Whether it be the time a player won the club lottery or when Graeme Bennet's son was the mascot for the Celtic game in 2002, the club's always been very jobs for the boys. It seemed to die away a bit when Butcher came, but now it's back with a vengeance. I remember being horrified after we won the Scottish Cup after someone said that winning the cup alone should be enough to market the club to the town. Absolute rubbish. The club's done nothing to reach out to it's supporters. There's been no desire to truly engage with the local area on a big scale (plenty of time to commentate on Twitter about Eurovision though) while some of the players walk around the town like they're Cristiano Ronaldo. Put on top of that a rubbish stadium with horrid facilities (the toilets don't even have seats for god's sake!). Inverness doesn't love the club...and the club doesn't care for Inverness.

  38. ...and the benefits of a change in manager just being proved at Dundee. Change the manager and get the chance of a "bounce" at least for a couple of games. Oh, no, not at ICT - we know better and will go for the ha'penny option of bringing in another assistant on a handshake: that'll work. The good news is that we've been put out of our misery quickly. Nothing worse than lingering hope.

  40. I really don't understand this having to pay out the remainder of manager contracts. Would love to know the employment law position. In any other walk of life, complete ineptitude is not rewarded by paying off the said employee for x number of years while they sit back with pipe and slippers and someone new has to pick up the pieces.

  42. I'd always wondered, what is the opposite of "the Midas touch", and now we have an answer. Everything Foran touches turns to sh1t - results, tactics, workrate, togetherness, fitness, and the form of numerous talented or promising players. That's some going in such a short spell in charge.

  45. Never made the game tonght due to prior engagement. Feared the worst but even my abject pessimism failed to predict the utter shambles which transpired. Enough is enough. Time for a change of direction at all levels. The incumbents have nothing to offer. We need a radical overhaul of all levels from kids to first team. On current form we will be fighting relegation from Championship next season. Unbelievable to contrast with where we were a mere two years ago. A massive missed opportunity from our non-existent board. Sad.

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.

It's Now or Never: That's what Elvis used to say. We are in deep trouble up to our necks with no signs that we can turn this around. Defeat to Arbroath could be the final nail in our coffin with only fifteen points available to us ahead of this game. The play-offs are looking more likely by the minute, but it's not beyond the realms of possibilty that automatic relegation is still an option should Arbroath beat us on Saturday. With the long suffering fans rapidly losing faith in Big Dunc, it's crunch time as Arbroath head North to the venue they won at the last time they were here. Sadly they come to the Caledonian Stadium off the back of a 2-1 midweek defeat to Airdrie, and we could all but relegate them on Saturday with a win. However, that's nothing to gloat about as we could be next...

    • Partick 1-0 Inverness CT - Report
Big Trouble Down the Dump: Billy Mckay was back in the starting XI along with Samson Lawal with Pepple dropping to the bench and Shaw out for the season. Both teams had seven on the bench with Roddy MacGregor getting a rare seat. Scott Robinson scored the only goal of the game just before the break. Inverness were reduced to ten men when Cammy Kerr was sent off just after an hour. Despite creating more opportunities, the points just evaded us.

      Meh!
