  1. Probably in response to some of the utterly disgraceful abuse he seemed to be getting from our supporters who seem perfectly capable of dishing out abuse to players yet seem incapable of getting behind the team at any point during a match.

  2. Morton weren't prepared for that system & Polworth found loads of space in the first 20 minutes while Vigurs & Trafford controlled the midfield. We should have killed it in that opening spell but Duffy clearly saw what was going on & flooded the midfield. Morton were the better team thereafter & missed good chances in the second half. It was my first proper look at this team having only been at Stirling so far this season. Hats off to Robbo for changing the system - it definitely suits Polwarth and we look more able to create chances. Chalmers was more comfortable in a back 3 & Warren had a good game but McKay struggled. Neither wing-back made much of an impression, Trafford faded & Vigurs was good throughout. I wonder if he's upped his game or if he just looks better because he's surrounded by such mediocrity. Oakley was very poor. If Susan is as bad as people are saying then we really need to sign someone to play alongside Baird or Bell.

  3. It was ridiculous in the North Stand. The way some guys were carrying on you'd think Polworth had shagged their missus and stolen the microwave.

  4. Perhaps the silver lining to this week's cloud is that, with Seedorf being suspended, we might start Raven at last. A defence with both Warren and Raven in it would surely be less porous and, once he has served his suspension, would release Seedorf to play wide further forward where he looks to have some potential.

  5. Encouraging first 20 minutes. Pretty awful thereafter. Yet again abysmal officiating.

  6. So far, the standard of football in the Championship appears not too different to the lower reaches of the Premiership. The standard of refereeing, however, is abysmal.

  7. I love all the talk about "balance of power", like we are the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

  8. Polworth played as a number ten in the first half as part of a 3-4-1-2 and I do thought he did pretty well on the whole - far better than last week and his previous stints on the wings. In the second we went defensive and seemed to have him alongside Trafford in a 3-1-4-2 where he was much less effective.

  9. Lot of negativity over the Donaldson signing. I'm prepared to give the boy the benefit of the doubt. After all, QPR paid a fairly significant (by Scottish standards) fee for him so he must have something about him!

  10. just watched the stv interview with our new chairman. what was he sitting in front of ---- a very large, expensive mirror with that bludy ICTFC PRIDE OF THE HIGHLANDS crap engraved on it. What an embarrassment when opposition directors visit.?

  12. Very good first 25 minutes when we created 7 or 8 good chances and on another day could have killed the game. Polworth and Vigurs the stand outs in that spell, with Polworth really up for his more advanced role. Would like to see the Vigurs penalty claim again, as he seemed convinced. The goal was deserved, as the foul on Calder must have just been outside the box. Then Morton came back into it and were the better team for most of the rest of the match. That said, Oakley missed a sitter which could have stolen it. Our crosses into the box were poor, or else we would have had a lot more chances. The wind made it tricky, with high balls towards the north stand being seriously held up in the wind, making kick outs a lottery at times. Ridgers on the whole OK, with a couple of saves, but distribution poor. Warren and Chalmers did well in back three, although Chalmers had a couple of hairy moments. Mckay seemed to struggle. Disappointed by Seedorf. I'd only seen him against Brechin, and he was not a patch on that today. Calder seemed uncertain of his role, and was being talked through the first half by Rice. A couple of positive runs, including the one which won the free kick which got the goal. Vigurs had a good game, but a needless booking for backchat. Early days for Trafford but he will hopefully settle in and be a good addition. Polworth started very well, but faded a bit when Morton came back into it. I thought Baird and Oakley combined quite well, especially in first half hour, but Oakley did miss that sitter. Bell lively when he came on and added pace in attack. Mulraney was his usual self, pace but poor use if the ball. Raven had a cameo after Seedorf sent off. I thought he was coming on at half time, which I thought would have been for Calder, but at didn't transpire. The ref had a stinker, with some poor decisions. Seems to be a pattern! The first thirty minutes was the best I've seen for a while, so we need to build on it to climb the table. Very big game at Brechin next week now.

  13. Maybe so but that is the past and we can do nothing about it now other than learn the lessons from it. Time to look to the future.

  14. My take on the new signings - Mark Ridgers - Looks a bit dodgy to me. Shot stopping is reasonable enough, but his kicking is very poor and looks really weak at crosses. A pointless signing as well. Joe Chalmers - Too slow, dodgy, poor defensively and offers nothing going forward. He was a worse left-back than Lionel Djebi-Zadi! Perhaps he'll be re-born as a left sided centre half but at left back he gives me the fear! John Baird - Can't fault his effort but I'll be surprised if he scores more than ten goals this season. George Oakley - Another work horse but again I don't think he's a goalscorer. Perhaps playing him on the wing or as a number 10 is an option. Riccardo Calder - Versatile and quick, he does have something about him. While he has a habit to drift in and out of games, he certainly looks better on the wing than at left back. Think he'll turn out quite well. Matthew Elsdon - A lumbering young defender who was looks rather error-prone. Can see him turning out for the likes of Kingstonian and Leatherhead in the next few years. Connor Bell - A real livewire who reminds me a bit of Noel Hunt. I like his tenacity. Again though, is he a goalscorer? Felticiano Zschusschen - I wonder if we've been conned here. He's absolutely useless. Slower than a week in jail and couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo! Zak Elbouzedi - Only saw him properly against Forres where he looked impressive. We've yet to see yet if he can cut it against Championship sides though. Charlie Trafford - Looks neat and tidy today and seems less lumbering than Draper. I was impressed by today's showing. Alex Cooper - Powderpuff. Coll Donaldson - Yet to see him. Hopefully it stays that way.

  15. The criticism of Polworth is misplaced. That's not to say that he is playing to his potential, but his "attitude" issues are nothing to do with a lack of effort or passion. Instead, it is an intense self-criticism that is his problem, so he lingers over the mistakes he makes instead of rectifying them. He might need a spell on the bench, but he certainly does not deserve abuse because it looks like he cares!

  16. I disagree somewhat. He threatened in the first half and had good effort on goal, well saved. A bit more wasteful in second half maybe and seemed to petulantly gesture to bench/stand when he misplaced a pass which was a bit disappointing.

  19. While the challenge cup may not be the most glamorous, or the most lucrative in terms of prize money and revenue, it can be a good opportunity to rotate the squad a little and if we do well, like win it, it can act as a springboard towards the rest of the league campaign. Players tails go up and such. I find myself not even looking at the website for information tbh. If it can't even keep a match date, time and venue up to date then it becomes almost pointless.

  20. Warren is fit according to my source, But I would get that Calmers away to feck.... he is useless!! Better with Raven at left back.

  21. Really demonstrates how the balance of power has changed with County signing our best player and us being reduced to taking players from them who are not good enough to be first team regulars.

  22. Ridgers has cost us a goal a game almost over the last few weeks. He's been exceptionally poor.

  23. Clearly you don't going by the above which in a way makes the comment worse. I don't normally comment directly like this as it may be construed as picking on someone but your initial post is in bad taste even if it was meant as a joke. More than one person pointed it out so just remove it please and don't antagonise the situation. Having first hand experience of this illness I don't wish it on anyone and it's certainly not something to be joked about.

  25. The Semi-final was pretty amazing...BUT I absolutely loved the whole Final experience, It didn't matter that we were playing Falkirk, they were the equal of us, and outnumbered us in support. We bossed the first half, but contrived to almost lose the second, those last 10mins were an emotional experience and that amazing winning goal with Watkins doing all the hard work, and Vincent defying fatigue to get up field and knock the lose ball home...FANTASTIC. It was great that I was able to share the day with CaleyMad. One of the best days in my football supporting life... I've supported Palace down here for over 40years and we've lost twice narrowly in the FA Cup to Man U, which hurt a good deal, but Caley winning the Scottish Cup is quite some compensation!

  26. Largely agree with Charles here. Plenty of folk have been on here moaning, myself included about things at the club in recent weeks and months. Surely we can muster up 120 people to head along to this event and express their concerns despite the short notice? if not it will only serve to strengthen the notion that a lot of people are happy to piss and moan about stuff they don't like but not do anything about it when afforded the opportunity. So if you're annoyed about season ticket prices, the Pride of the Highlands badge, the poor communication through Twitter and Facebook or whatever it may be this is your chance to speak up about it. If you can't be bothered to do so then don't bother complaining about these things in the future.

  27. Just because it should have happened in January doesn't mean we shouldn't embrace it now. The Chairman in January is no longer on the Board and the new Chairman who has sent out the invitation was not on the Board in January. It is clean slate time. It is time to all come together, accept that we are where we are and work cooperatively in order to restore a bit of pride in the club.

  28. IBM has omitted the bit about the need to pre-register if you are attending. This is because there is only space for 120 people and clearly they don't want to turn folk away. I like the optimism that more than 120 will want to attend. I'm undecided at the moment. I might wait and see how many Morton beat us by on Saturday and then check availability on Monday Seriously though, It is good that the Board is doing this and given the extent of criticism there has been on this forum it would be really good if there is a great turnout. We are asking the Board to engage constructively with the fans so it really is incumbent on the fans to turn up when the Board provides the opportunity.. OK. I've convinced my self. I'm going regardless of the score on Saturday!

    • Inverness CT -V- Raith Rovers - Preview
The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.

It's Now or Never: That's what Elvis used to say. We are in deep trouble up to our necks with no signs that we can turn this around. Defeat to Arbroath could be the final nail in our coffin with only fifteen points available to us ahead of this game. The play-offs are looking more likely by the minute, but it's not beyond the realms of possibilty that automatic relegation is still an option should Arbroath beat us on Saturday. With the long suffering fans rapidly losing faith in Big Dunc, it's crunch time as Arbroath head North to the venue they won at the last time they were here. Sadly they come to the Caledonian Stadium off the back of a 2-1 midweek defeat to Airdrie, and we could all but relegate them on Saturday with a win. However, that's nothing to gloat about as we could be next...
