  1. There seems to be an attitude from the young team that because they are creating an atmosphere, anything else that comes with it is part and parcel of it. No acknowledgement from them of flares/smoke bombs not being permitted in the ground or verbally abusing of stewards(heavy handed as they were at times) being unacceptable. They need to take responsibility, self police themselves better and, in some cases, just grow the **** up.

  2. Talk about making mountains out of molehills. I was in pretty close proximity to the events on Saturday and the hysteria this has generated (often by folk who weren't even at the game) is frankly beyond belief. The Young Team let off two smoke bombs, one at kick-off and another after our first goal. The first one set the stewards into apoplexy and a complete over reaction which set the tone for the afternoon. The police arrived shortly before the second smoke bomb was released and again their reaction was way over the top, throwing their weight around with some very young lads. I would love to see both the stewards and police employ these tactics with a larger, older, group of boisterous fans. The stewards and police try it on with ICT fans because we're small in number and the general locus of any incidents are very young and not particularly intimidating (no offence boys). Different story when the Old Firm, Hibs, Hearts, Aberdeen etc are playing up. This over zealous, bullying behaviour is witnessed at away grounds the length and breadth of the country and winds me up a great deal more than the Young Team's histrionics. As far as I'm concerned the Chairman's comments are unnecessary and are merely drawing attention to an issue that is hardly worthy of mention. I would suggest Mr. Rae's energies would be better focussed on addressing more pressing matters which impact the viability and long term future of our club rather than whipping up hysteria around a few over exuberant teenagers. The hand wringing, bed wetters amongst our support demanding fan intervention, bans and such like really need to give their heads a shake. I've watched football all over Europe and the ultra scene undeniably enhances the match day experience at grounds across the continent. The reaction to pyrotechnics and such like by our European neighbours is a great deal more proportionate to the knee-jerk hysteria spouted on here. Personally I would question if letting off smoke bombs at Glebe Park is entirely necessary but then again it's hardly crime of the century. Some folk on here need to put this incident in perspective - no one was arrested, no one was injured, there were no violent disturbances and the City of Brechin remains largely intact. The demonization of the Young Team on here is unrelenting and way over the top - they are daft laddies trying to generate a bit of much needed noise and atmosphere amongst the pandrop sooking ICT masses. They maybe need to address their negative PR by calming down with the smoke bombs but they are very far from a mob of rampaging hooligans and people need to chill out and cut them a bit of slack.

  4. Ok going to bite here? Were you there? If not this is compete and utter twaddle. The chairman and the COO were both there and saw for themselves. Most of our support was outside and this was happening in one of the stands. (there were 2 available). Actually some fans did intervene! How do you know no one intervened? The stewards and police did no look like they needed our involvement to me. No one was complicit we let the folk who are employed to sort this out get on with their job. How do you know all the folk were on the bus? Also not sure leaving anybody in Brechin especially U16s a great idea? I assume there is CCTV footage available? Personally think this is being dealt with correctly. With evidence and a clear head by the club.

  5. Putting some of the heavy handed stewarding aside, it might help if some of our younger fans realised that they're supporting Caley Thistle, not Red Star Belgrade.

  6. Good luck Liz, don't allow yourself to be detracted by negativity and I sincerely hope you are successful, knowing you as I do the only outcome can be positive as your love of the club is the primary driving force.

  7. I'm sorry, but none of us should be condoning flares or smoke bombs at any match.

  9. Agree with most of this. Unfortunately the folk we are talking about were young here. However agree not all young folk set out to cause problems.

  10. why should other fans get involved when the police/stewards has already taken names of people that they believed to be causing trouble and ejected them from the stadium? I agree that people caught with smoke bombs should be punished accordingly but several posts on this site seem to be singling out fans just because of their age? just because someone is a certain age it doesn't mean they go to football to cause trouble. (That is more a general reply to a few posts I've seen on here) Also, I don't think leaving someone in Brechin (especially a child) would achieve anything. Two wrongs don't make a right

  11. Subsequent to various incidents on Saturday I C T Supporters Travel Club called a committee meeting which will take place this evening. We shall address the matters of concern and once these matters have been dealt with internally we shall issue a statement.

  12. the club has more important problems to overcome without de-valuing the names of our two great parents. Don't dare forget that we would not be here if it wasn't for Caley and Thistle.

  13. I too feel vindicated. I too took a lot of flack following the Stirling Albion SC game as did others. Agree should have been nipped in bud long ago

  14. And some folk on this site were slating me last year for complaining about the behaviour of these OTT youngsters. As I said back then this should have been nipped in the bud, but now with SPFL "Unacceptable Conduct" correspondence I rest my case.

  15. Having been at the game, I was sickened to see the behaviour of some of our supporters. ( It was a minority ). If they can be identified I think the club should hand out some punishment to them.

  16. Bottom line is that the club are at risk of getting into trouble because of the behaviour of these supporters. It doesn't matter if said supporters think that's unfair - its the way the SFA are running things right now. Is it really worth damaging the club's reputation (and bank balance, potentially) just to set off a smoke bomb in front of a few hundred fans at Brechin? On a personal level, I groan with dismay whenever I see flares and smoke bombs. People have been badly injured (or killed in at least one case I read of) because of these devices. I also know of fans with chest complaints such as asthma or COPD who are made breathless if they are in the vicinity. Oh, and in a piddly little ground like ours (or Brechin's) they just look naff.

  17. I wasn't at the game, but my Wife was...she tells me that the stewarding/police were heavy handed, but I would agree that the idiots who think it's ok to let flares/smoke bombs off probably set the tone...I have ZERO sympathy for the ar#*holes who ley of the flares..way to go, giving tbe club a bad name!!

  22. The sad thing is that the young crew bring a lot of much needed enthusiasm and atmosphere to the crowd when they behave within the boundaries of acceptable behaviour. When they do that, they have great fun, the rest of the fans enjoy the atmosphere they create and the guys on the park appreciate the support. But there will always be a small minority who either have no idea where the boundaries are or a simply hell bent on causing trouble for some reason or other. When they do that, there are others who either follow like sheep or join in because they aren't mature enough to resit the peer pressure. The more sensible lads then stay away because they don't want to get sucked into any trouble. Get rid of the tiny number of ring leaders, the sensible ones will return. Keep the behaviour within the boundaries and everyone's a winner. But just to get a bit of balance here, it is not just the young lads whose behaviour is not always within the boundaries of acceptable behaviour. Some of the abuse shouted at players, officials and opposition fans by much older fans would get them evicted if they behaved like that in their care homes. It is not a good example. When some of our more senior fans behave in such a disrespectful way and escape any kind of censure, is it any wonder that the youngsters choose to break through the boundaries too?

  23. As someone has already said, this has been brewing from last season and these so called supporters also seemed to have damaged one of the buses taking them to the game, how stupid is that. Someone on here will know who they are and, if so, needs to let the club know. While we need younger fans to help create an atmosphere, we don't need louts like these

  24. It's not the first time that D&E have had to bill the travel club for buses (according to some this time though, it was just stickers - pwopa nawty!). A few months back they sent a bill for nearly £200 for damages for a variety of things, including the actions of some moron who thought it would be a good idea to break the glass case and try to take the emergency hammer...

  25. The club statement is possibly the most proactive we've seen - this has been brewing since last season with there being several incidents of similar behaviour. At both home and away games last year and into this we've seen and heard some unacceptable chants and abuse at players - a standout for me was last year at Pittodrie and the abuse singled out at the ex-ICT players especially Shinnie & Storey, These appear to be daft wee boys but need to be dealt with hard, we cannot be seen to dismiss or belittle the behaviour as the exuberance of youth because the youngsters of today seem to be just like sheep and will grow and follow if it means social media popularity. Hopefully the club ban these idiots before they tarnish the good club reputation and it stops them visiting a club where their fans take offense and end up with someone getting injured or hospitalised - whether from our side or another and most likely an innocent party.

  27. Thanks, Liz. That's a very encouraging response. I think folk need to take particular note of Liz's statement that she only joined the Board last year and therefore she should not be held accountable for any shortcomings people may perceive in CJTs activities in recent years. Full marks to Liz for being prepared to take on the difficult work involved in trying to get CJT up and running again. She deserves our support for taking this on. We really need to put any failings of the past well and truly behind us. It is in the interest of any football club to have an active and representative fans group, but particularly so for ICT as we have the gift of a 10% voting stake in the affairs of the club. But a successful and representative supporters group requires much more than the hard work of a small handful of people who are willing to give up their own free time. It needs fans of all ages and backgrounds to do their bit. Whether it is simply clicking on the agree or disagree button on a proposal posted on line, or standing for the Board, or a host of things in between, we all have it in our power to help make CJT the success it needs to be in order to help the club achieve the success we would all like it to achieve.

  28. Totally agreed and fully intend to get membership open again prior to AGM, just trying to focus on geting all our current members details updated, get the accounts signed off by the accountant and getting wheels in motion for new office bearers and AGM date set. Once all of that is completed we will get membership open.

  29. There are over 700 members registered, we need these members to help us, either by being board members or by turning up at AGMs etc. As you say its our club, we have a voice, lets use it.

  30. The club was more than happy when it was getting thousands from when Fon Williams was away at the Euros. Fon Williams has a contract and he's more than within his rights to want it to be honoured. And why should he look for something new? He has gotten himself a good deal and made the club plenty of money - he's well within his rights to sit tight, I know I would.

  31. Sorry and i know i will take a lot of flack for this but talking about the issues does not deal with them. We had 120 fans there and approximately 100 of them let this behaviour carry on. They did not personally challenge the behaviour, identify the individuals to police or stewards or get them kicked if the bus for the return trip. Fans were removed from the stadium were the ejected from the return bus or allowed back on? This is the equivalent to walking by a mugging as you dont want to get involved or watching a girl get plied with drink and not making sure she got home safely. Responsibility means we have the ability to choose our response and not just observe and bitch afterwards. Was at a game down south in 80s when a fan threw an object from amongst about 400 people. To a man everyone behind him pointed at him and identified him to the police. The poor behaviour is a breach of your personal standards and if you do not directly stand up to it at the time you become complicit. Can i break the red card record with this post?

  33. BBC Article on this is an absolute shocker. Mr Rae's OTT and ill considered statement pounced on by media and a non event is portrayed as some sort of breakdown of western civilisation. Great start from our illustrious leader.

    • Dundee United 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Hopes amongst the Caley Jags support were at rock bottom ahead of this one with the threat of relegation looming large. With all hands to the pumps, Shaw, Boyes and Ujdur were brought back into the squad whilst not really 100% fit. Shaw started as did Pepple and Boyes with Billy Mckay, Lawal and Danny Devine dropping to the bench. Cammy Harper was given the Captain's armband today. It's a daunting task going to the lions den to face title favourites but underdog is our preferred tag. Anyway, 252 of them turned up at Tannadice in eternal hope and Duffy heightened the intensity only for Louis Moult to level things up. That's how it ended, a result we would have bitten your hand off before kick off.

    • Inverness CT 1-2 Ayr United - Report
Having sat through one of the worst games for many a year there is little to hope for now apart from Arbroath to keep losing because we certainly appear to find it difficult to win. We have no game changers in our squad and our manager is playing the wrong type of anti-football to help our cause. Big Dunc thought we were the better team. Pleeeeeaaase, give me a break! We were second to everything and Ayr were always one step ahead of us after the first three minutes. SHOCKER springs to mind.

    • Inverness CT 0-0 Airdrieonians - Report
These two sides looked as though they could play for the whole of March without scoring. In terms of opportunities, the hosts probably shaded it, but when we did miss the first defender, crosses invariably went behind the incoming strikers. On the one occasion we got on the end of the ball Billy Mckay's flicked header was cleared away from goal by Kanayo Megwa.
Not the worst 0-0 draw ever, but scoring opportunities were at a premium. Neither keeper was overly troubled and this game had scoreless written all over it given the evidence of the first twenty minutes.

    • Inverness CT -V- Airdrieonians - Preview
Promoted Airdrie are sitting in fifth place in the table, just below the play-off places with former Caley Jag Nikolay Todorov getting amongst the goals and he will provide a big test for our central defence. We have found Airdrie a difficult proposition at times this season but we did win the last home encounter against them.

    • Morton 0-2 Inverness CT - Report
What a start for Inverness and Billy Mckay, who answered his abusers from last week by opening the scoring in the second minute, firing into the top corner after an assist from Cammy Harper. Robbie Muirhead looked to respond but Mark Ridgers was equal to his effort in the fifth minute. Ten minutes before the interval Sean McAllister curled in a low free kick from the edge of the box to double our advantage and open his scoring account at Inverness. Plenty of bookings but no further scoring saw Inverness pick up a vital three points in the relegation battle although we still remain in ninth spot but only two points from Dunfermline in fifth.
