  1. The irony is that those 2 scrapping effectively relegated us by gifting Hamilton an undeserved win against St J.

  2. Really? You seem to be not just judgemental about every forum user on here but highly condescending. If you honestly think a club and team struggling as badly as we are should be out in jollies while taking the money hard earned by fans you're a bigger fool than the posts you put up even suggest. In most employments if you fail to meet KPIs then you're employer doesn't give an afternoon off for games and play - can't say the performance of the coaches or players are in line with expectations either in or out of the club. It's quite clear from your comments on several issues that you have a biased view based on a connection to the club or players, perhaps it's time to take the blinkers off and see exactly how badly the whole regime is letting the fans down.

  4. It's just entertainment. If a writer starts writing p!sh, then people stop buying his books. If a band starts releasing p!sh songs, then people stop going to their gigs. If a film director starts making p!sh films, nobody bothers going to see them. When a football team start playing pish, people stop going to support them. It's not difficult!

  5. Well, I suppose a return to the cheerleaders would be an improvement on the jeerleaders we have at the moment.

  6. Scarlet.... many years ago both ICT and County had cheerleaders. The County ones even had their own chant, one line of which went (in the broadest "Dingwall")...."Foootbullursh ur seckseee!" It did make the toes curl somewhat.

  8. Local breweries couldn't afford much sponsorship, but what about the Whisky industry? Diageo obviously has a bob or two and a Highlands Football team seems a good match for a company that makes Highland Malts. We could get rid of the "Pride of the Highlands" tag and become "Spirit of the Highlands". They could build a new covered stadium - The Diageo Dome - which could double up as a general entertainments and conference centre as well as housing a variety of indoor sports. And to mark the 25th anniversary of our club in 2019 they could market a premium blend of 25 year old malts. "The ICT. 25 year old. Matured to perfection." I'd buy a bottle or three.

  10. The 'Vigurs was found in the gym' stuff was a myth. He was on our radar long before then. Also, it's good to see Robbo back posting on the forum. Howdy Robbo! Hope you're well (and stay off the pies eh!).

  11. I'm not suggesting a vomit festival every morning just that they often do train hard and after that, often go to the gym. As any real supporter will remember, it was a meeting in a gym that brought Vigurs back in the team so players attending the gym in the afternoon is common. And, I am lead to believe, team building activities boost KPI's and given the events, a jolly to the golf course was a good managerial decision and exactly the right thing to do. I'm sure I will recognise bdu at the next home game on account of his enormous shoes and red nose as the doors fall off his car. But he is right about one thing, I do biased view based on a connection to the club, I am a supporter, win or loose, I will cheer them off the park when they play well and when they don't. My posts may appear highly condescending at times but as I stated before, I am sick of the so called "supporters" who turn on the team because they don't get what they want.

  12. Is it true, or an urban myth, that there was one occasion when the Half Time Harriers returned from the Corrie slightly late to find that, in the interim, Jags had shipped five goals?
    1 point
  13. Aye but watching the Jags team of the early seventies was worth the agony of all that went on before and after and a quick pint at the Corriegarth often made the second half a great deal more bearable.

  14. I've just been listening on the radio to a description of the horrendously complicated format of some new European league which, in Scotland's case, will apparently create a much more convoluted process through which to fail to qualify for the Euro finals. One main purpose of all this is, apparently, to create more hours of football which are sellable to TV channels. However, the obvious corollary of even more televised football will be the punters having even less inclination and funds than at present to invest in turning up to see games live at places like the Caledonian Stadium.

  15. Just a tad personal there don't ya think. Ok read it again and from that I think that what you are so saying is 'real supporters' stay behind clapping and cheering the team off the park after they have been turned over at home by Livingston and under no circumstances offer any criticism to any player who look like they can't be arsed or are hiding. Correct ? Not bad eh for one so slow. TBH I think you are doing your fellow supporters a massive injustice, casting them as 'idiots' just because the way they conduct themselves on a Saturday is not to your approval.

  20. Thanks Milescott for pointing out what everyone seems to have missed while piling on. Kellacher is a coach, he has coached the team through relegation to near relegation again in two seasons, him and Rice need to go. I wasn't at the game so didn't hear what was said but in anycase, he is a coach and should never say anything to the players during a game except positive enforcement. You have cleared up the mystery of why a shy, pleasant young man should publically explode with such rage, and if indeed he said or did anything to warrant "disgraceful behaviour Kellacher," from the crowd, his desk should be cleared and its contents left in a box at the front door on Monday morning. Like I said, I wasn't at the game, I was at the QOS match in the main stand and like everyone, endured a dull 90 mins with an overall poor performance. But that's not the reason I didn't go, I am a supporter and cheer on the team at every opportunity, good or bad. It was because of the morons who seem dispersed throughout the main stand who think its ok to shout abuse at players far less support the team. The abuse is usually aimed at Polworth or Vigors and this is just not on. Some may make the argument that they have paid money and are entitled to shout abuse, that is just not true. No one has the right to shout abuse and if you do it to your own players, shame on you. No, I didn't go to the game because several times I had to talk myself of the ledge just so I did not go to one of these abusers and point out the error of their ways. If you are one of those people, stay at home, shout at the dog, do whatever but leave the stands to those who go and support the team. I will be back next home game but I will not sit in silence anymore and I would urge anyone who has their game spoiled by some idiot to stand up and say something because I will. These people need to know their behaviour is not welcome. Vigors may be in the twighlight of his career and may not have much option than to play out the end of his days under a torrent of bile but that is not the case for Polworth. He was out of favour with Hughes and played out of position, Foran always played him out of position, right-back against Elgin FFS? He was trapped into a three-year deal on a fraction of the money others get and the club including Rice/Kellacher have done little to nurture and bring him on. So when another club comes in and makes an offer in the next two windows, don't be surprised when he grabs his kit and leaves and who can blame him. The way he has and is being treated is disgraceful and he will be driven out of the club by the "supporters." Sad thing is, that would be the best thing for him.

  21. It's a difficult one without knowing the full circumstances NJ. It does not look clever, but the interesting thing is what was the reason for it. Speculation will no doubt shroud the truth, but that is the contributing factor to what followed.

  22. I'm not surprised that the team are frustrated and angry. For more than two seasons we've had managers who don't take responsibility and slate the players every time something goes wrong. Off the top of my head the squad have been told they think they are better than they are, that they aren't real men, they aren't tough, they don't want to make sacrifices, they are bad apples. The managers saying this haven't signed any players who have added to the squad, in fact they've added players who are noticeably worse. They haven't been able to coach or make tactical adjustments to get results. They have dropped or refused to play some of our best players for non-footballing reasons while signing utter dross. It must be extremely frustrating to play through that and have the manager insult you continually. It's a sign of a manager completely out of his depth - we saw it last season with Foran and we are seeing it again with Robertson. Sadly we are in the same situation we were in with Foran, a manager so close to figures at the club that he's nigh on impossible to get rid of. worth saying that Kellacher is a good coach and works well with the squad. I understand he took a lot of the slack at various points last season and it could be that he was just in the wrong place yesterday.

  23. I Have told you all before Do I have to repeat myself because you are nationalists that will accept separation at any price Scotland has a small working population. The tax revenue is very low The balance of payments deficit with England will be immense not to mention the rest of the world Scotland can't rely on oil because it only takes one meeting with OPEC to increase production Scotland exports whiskey, so what it probably imports more Coca Cola and other soft drinks before we get onto the other alcoholic drinks like wine and such like all have to be paid for. Go in any store in Inverness and walk around identify products made in Scotland. You will see that Scotland will be on its hands and knees within a year The alternative is to take the money from the Uk treasury, laugh and carry on letting London do the worrying , I won't repeat myself again I think this is the 3rd time I have told you the rampant still fighting medieval battles , Just grow up.

  26. A lot of "think," in there! He may have been on the radar and as PF points out so are many others. Around that time Warren was out and the priority was a striker so in that respect, there was no positive move towards Vigurs. You can dismiss it in preference to what you think but I'll go with the testimony of the player in question because regardless of any radar, according to Vigurs, thats how it happened for him.

  27. Why do you think the team and management were out playing golf? Do you seriously think JR said **** football, lets all go and play golf instead? Have you ever worked so hard youve thrown up? I would even suggest the players work harder in a morning session than you do in your 40hrs a week!

  29. DD But it is not highly disruptive to the Brexit negotiations to have a General Election a month after the local council elections, in order that May can avoid the possible consequences of the CPS decision on the electoral fraud cases and get her own party under control? She had nine months after the referendum, while she was telling us there wasn't going to be a General Election, to get her house in order...but patently didn't bother......and we can guess why.....because the polls didn't give her enough of a lead over Labour to ensure an even bigger majority than she already has.. Quite self evidently now is not the time to have an independence referendum....because that will remove Scottish resources from the UK to use to gain concessions in negotiations. If she thought she could claim the North Sea as English Waters, she'd not be particularly bothered. After all, she is nothing if not pragmatic.....given she went from being a Remainer to being a Brexiteer with alacrity when she realised there was a PMship up for grabs. So the reason it is not the time for a Scottish referendum, but it is the time for a referendum involving the whole country...is because it would tie her hands in negotiations with the EU not to not be able to use the likes of Scotland's fishing grounds to get the odd concession or quid pro quo. She probably hopes that once the deal is made, it will be so long after the vote that the EU will forget what they used to make it. The SG has never intended to have the referendum before it was clear in which way the negotiations were heading anyway.....which is why they were leaving the timing open until the negotiations were coming to a conclusion nearer the tail end of 2018...or if an extension to the negotiating time scale is agreed, maybe a bit longer. The time for the independence referendum was never now.....the time for agreeing to have an independence referendum once the Brexit terms were clear was what was now. The Edinburgh Agreement, after all, was signed two years before the actual referendum with no specific date, just a rough timing as to the latest it could be held (and it made no promises as to never having another one within any timescale either, btw) So it seems to me that, by the time there would be a referendum, it would be pretty clear how the negotiations were working out....and if we had it before the UK actually left the EU, we would not have as long to get back in...or at a push could join EFTA, thus continuing some level of connection with the EU instead of years in the wilderness. However not agreeing to have,a section 30 order through both Westminster and Holyrood and in place to be used when the time WAS right (a bit like May waiting until the polls made the time right fot her to have this GE now), means that Scotland would be out of the EU and, if May gets the stonking majority she expects....I'd be surprised if Holyrood won't get some of what small powers it possesses removed....or even gets abolished altogether. Once Brexit is done and dusted...whenever May deems that to be...will Scotland be in a position to have another referendum. I'm not at all sure it will.

  30. It looks like the Tories are going to reselect each and every one of their MPs who are under investigation not just for any old crime but for the crime of election fraud. Contrast that with the SNP who have swiftly moved to deselect the two MPs in their camp under investigation despite the fact that one of them is likely to be fully exonerated before the poll actually takes place. The Conservatives have few morals and absolutely no scruples. .A majority south of the border clearly want those sorts to be governing their country. A very clear majority of Scots do not. That is untenable in the long run and will be a huge factor in bringing this increasingly unbalanced union to an end.

    • Inverness CT -V- Raith Rovers - Preview
The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.

It's Now or Never: That's what Elvis used to say. We are in deep trouble up to our necks with no signs that we can turn this around. Defeat to Arbroath could be the final nail in our coffin with only fifteen points available to us ahead of this game. The play-offs are looking more likely by the minute, but it's not beyond the realms of possibilty that automatic relegation is still an option should Arbroath beat us on Saturday. With the long suffering fans rapidly losing faith in Big Dunc, it's crunch time as Arbroath head North to the venue they won at the last time they were here. Sadly they come to the Caledonian Stadium off the back of a 2-1 midweek defeat to Airdrie, and we could all but relegate them on Saturday with a win. However, that's nothing to gloat about as we could be next...
