  1. Well said Kingsmills. That's the way I feel too. Tullochs seem to to get a bad press with certain sections of our support, who , presumably, don't appreciate the debt the club owes them. That doesn't mean, of course, that our present board should not negotiate hard with them to ensure that the current seemingly loose arrangements are properly and legally sorted out to ICT's advantage .

  2. If it wasn't for the Tulloch connection we might not have a club by now. We certainly wouldn't have a full time team who had spent the vast majority of the last decade and a half in the top tier and won the country's premier knock out tournament.

  3. I know that decision-making in the final third was disappointing on numerous occasions today but singling out Polly as having a terrible game seems harsh to me. Today, he had his trademark runs again carrying the ball from midfield as attacks started (he is our most effective player in that role) and he had one or two decent efforts on goal. The disappointment for me was the misunderstanding between midfielders and forwards with some final balls but that is as much their fault as it is his.

  4. Well needed 3 points after a mediocre display, Another shutout which is testament to the Mackay / Donaldson / Ridgers display, I thought Ridgers deserves a mention as he's now looking like a confident Goalie! Coll was exceptional, glad he's signed on. The down side is that quite a few players didn't show up today, Mulraney, after a pretty good start lost his mojo and got lost in a divot, Polworth tried but nothing came off for him... nothing, his head eventually went down and the passing got worse. Trafford worked a bit but him and Chalmers were sitting too deep to help , Chalmers guilty of too many pass bakcs when a drive forward into space might have been a better option, It gave the 9 Dumbarton defenders time to get back and get organised. Bell and Baird... well they should be buying Carl a bottle of bubbly cos he showed them and saved them. Baird needs dropped, start with Oakley and Bell, Start with Doran, when Vigurs returns next week Polly will be happier. Also the quest for a right back should be well under way...... i hope.

  5. No, when we get promotion by winning the end of season play-offs, and County get relegated by losing theirs, we will still be in different leagues next season.

  6. Keep the Caley ones as they are priceless but the club could sell the Jeggie ones as firelighters.

  7. I get as frustrated as the next man when Baird fluffs a finish or makes a poor decision - but he's one of those players who's contribution you don't appreciate till he's gone. You don't keep 10 clean sheets in 11 games without defending from the front. Falkirk with Baird - promotion challengers. Falkirk without Baird - relegation fodder. When our front 3 were shipped today we looked a man short for the last 20 minutes against a part time opponent.

  8. Some good, quick moves in the first half, but in the second we were quite sloppy with a lot of misplaced passes, and were maybe fortunate to hold on. Great delivery by Chalmers for captain Tremarco's goal. Otherwise, the highlight as RiG has said was the skill Donaldson showed a couple of times to ease the pressure on himself, although if it had gone wrong..... We would not have won this game earlier in the season, so another sign of progress. Only three points off 5th and five off the play offs, with 10 clean sheets in 11 games, so hopefully we continue to push on. My thoughts on the players: Ridgers did all that was asked of him. The defence held firm, even when the animal that is Nade was thrown on. Mckay was up against him and unlucky to get booked, whilst another ref may have sent Nade off for his reaction to the challenge. Raven was steady, Tremarco is getting back to his best, whilst Donaldson held it together. Trafford did ok in the holding role, although I felt we missed Vigurs. Chalmers and Polworth were quieter. Polly was looking for the ball first half but less so second half. Bell put a shift in, but not as influential as sometimes. Baird worked hard, but lacked an end product. Mulraney had a decent first half, but was poor after the break. Of the subs, Doran was lively but not back to his best yet, Oakley worked hard and should maybe start ahead of Baird given his height, whilst Calder was not on that long. We got what we needed, and ground out the win. Onwards and upwards hopefully! i don't want to end on a downbeat note, but there was very little atmosphere. The Dumbarton fans were in the main stand, and the home end seemed subdued for some reason.

  9. I think Oakley is a far better option as a loan striker and in Baird's defence he does try

  10. Then we get some money to help keep our club afloat and to reinvest in our efforts to get back into the Premiership.

  11. If Tullochs have secured the leasehold from their dealings with ICT, I would suggest they've already done extremely well out of them. How can the board negotiate hard when they have nothing to bargain with?

  12. That is what you call a hard fought 3 points. We played some good football in the first half but our final ball was woeful, the second half was so disjointed and we were beginning to panic towards the end. For me, Donaldson, Tremarco, Trafford and Raven were the stand outs . Baird needs to be benched in the next game, and after I had thought that Polworth had turned a corner with his attitude, he turns in his worst performance of the season.

  13. The system we played towards the end with Doran, Oakley and Mulraney left our wide players too isolated. Good game management from Robbo overall and I agreed with the changes: a solid 3 points. Coll was absolutely superb today and fully warranted his MoM. Unfortunately Baird will miss his slot up front in the next game if sense prevails, even Doran would do a turn up there.

  14. So is the possibility emerging of an ICT v Ross County play-off for Premiership status next season, then? IF County were to finish 11th in the Premiership and Inverness were to make their way through the jungle which is the battle to become the single Championship side to contest the honour, then you have the Mother of all Highland Derbies! EDIT... written while Polo Chick was posting similarly above.

  15. Good points - Donaldson was very good. Raven and Tremarco were solid. Bad points - Polworth had a nightmare. Baird is absolutely rubbish. That is all.

  16. This (deserved) adulation for Raven and Tremarco is a bit of a contrast to not so long ago when fans used to chant that Greg Tansey (remember him?) was "the only decent thing to come from Liverpool".

  17. Keep them! Having traded a lot of jags programmes and memorabilia over the years the only things that make good money are shirts and centenary booklets. Sad to say I wouldn't trust the club to look after any pre merger memorabilia....they can't even look after / respect the traditional red and black colours of jags ! Edit to say that, if press reports are to believed, they can't even look after their leasehold of the stadium lands !

  18. You are spot on there Huisdean. Over the years, the club has had the goodwill of these major Inverness businesses through leading figures within them. It would be hugely beneficial if they could all pull together to the benefit of the club but, unfortunately, the opposite seems to be the case and long running antipathy appears to be a significant motivating factor in the current spat. One vital consideration in a saga which has now been ongoing for almost 20 years has, however, been largely ignored. In the early 2000s, the club was crippled by a debt somewhere in the range £2.3 - £3M (accounts vary). Without that being "sorted", the club would have gone into administration or even liquidation. The only thing that extricated it from that near-death experience was the intervention of Tullochs, the only game in town, who "disposed" of the debt, provided over £700,000 working capital to ease cash flow and ensured that the North and South stands were built. Some people may not like this fact, but interventions from Tullochs, valued at £5.3 - £6M (again accounts vary) ensured, in five years, a transition from a massively indebted financial basket case destined for the knacker's yard to a debt free club playing SPL football in an SPL compliant stadium in Inverness. The ICT piper has been paid pretty handsomely and I would suggest that he who has done so could have called a much more demanding tune, remembering also Tullochs' donation of 730,000 shares to the ICT Trust and offer of the stadium fabric to the club. I suppose the bottom line question has to be - what would people have preferred? Administration/liquidation in 2000/01 or, 16 overwhelmingly successful seasons later, a question over the car parks, Tullochs' response to which has included a commitment not to leave the club without infrastructure?

  19. Personally, I think the MacGillvrays, Alan Savage, David Sutherland should hang their heads in shame over this situation. This is all arising from their personal dislike of each other and should have no place in the running and future of ICT. The club is not their plaything for them to boost their egos by getting one over on each other. My understanding is that the owner of Tullochs now were unaware of the situation with the stands and do genuinely want to offload them to the club but why they are then insisting on the conditions they now are is beyond me. Perhaps they have an allegiance to the three musketeers mentioned above. The current board and chairman have a real poisoned chalice on this one as this situation was certainly not of their making. I do genuinely believe we are starting to get a board in place who can drive the club forward after the mismanagement of past boards and hope this does not deter them.

  20. A noble thought but I think you should keep them for your kids and grandkids. Unless somebody at the club could take them and put them on display at the stadium. They won't fetch much money wise.

  21. Carl hasn't quite shown the level of form he had before his injury but clearly his return has significantly strengthened our defence. His signing is a huge boost. I think his value is not just what he does as a defender but the influence his attitude has on others.

  22. The term "investment" implies a reasonable expectation of financial return for the investor. Like it not, and I don't particularly, the realistic term is "subsidy".

  23. Makes you feel old looking at people you went to school with looking distinctly middle aged. Thank heavens that, by contrast, I have retained my youthful appearance.

  24. I think everyone should just park at Tullochs headquarters on match ay and get a supporter bus arranged to ferry us to the games. Tulloch don' care about the club it's obvious and their refusal to deny the removal of the car parks speaks volumes

    • Dundee United 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Hopes amongst the Caley Jags support were at rock bottom ahead of this one with the threat of relegation looming large. With all hands to the pumps, Shaw, Boyes and Ujdur were brought back into the squad whilst not really 100% fit. Shaw started as did Pepple and Boyes with Billy Mckay, Lawal and Danny Devine dropping to the bench. Cammy Harper was given the Captain's armband today. It's a daunting task going to the lions den to face title favourites but underdog is our preferred tag. Anyway, 252 of them turned up at Tannadice in eternal hope and Duffy heightened the intensity only for Louis Moult to level things up. That's how it ended, a result we would have bitten your hand off before kick off.

    • Inverness CT 1-2 Ayr United - Report
Having sat through one of the worst games for many a year there is little to hope for now apart from Arbroath to keep losing because we certainly appear to find it difficult to win. We have no game changers in our squad and our manager is playing the wrong type of anti-football to help our cause. Big Dunc thought we were the better team. Pleeeeeaaase, give me a break! We were second to everything and Ayr were always one step ahead of us after the first three minutes. SHOCKER springs to mind.

    • Inverness CT 0-0 Airdrieonians - Report
These two sides looked as though they could play for the whole of March without scoring. In terms of opportunities, the hosts probably shaded it, but when we did miss the first defender, crosses invariably went behind the incoming strikers. On the one occasion we got on the end of the ball Billy Mckay's flicked header was cleared away from goal by Kanayo Megwa.
Not the worst 0-0 draw ever, but scoring opportunities were at a premium. Neither keeper was overly troubled and this game had scoreless written all over it given the evidence of the first twenty minutes.

    • Inverness CT -V- Airdrieonians - Preview
Promoted Airdrie are sitting in fifth place in the table, just below the play-off places with former Caley Jag Nikolay Todorov getting amongst the goals and he will provide a big test for our central defence. We have found Airdrie a difficult proposition at times this season but we did win the last home encounter against them.

    • Morton 0-2 Inverness CT - Report
What a start for Inverness and Billy Mckay, who answered his abusers from last week by opening the scoring in the second minute, firing into the top corner after an assist from Cammy Harper. Robbie Muirhead looked to respond but Mark Ridgers was equal to his effort in the fifth minute. Ten minutes before the interval Sean McAllister curled in a low free kick from the edge of the box to double our advantage and open his scoring account at Inverness. Plenty of bookings but no further scoring saw Inverness pick up a vital three points in the relegation battle although we still remain in ninth spot but only two points from Dunfermline in fifth.
