  1. lan Simpson,, I have been watching the video highlights of the recent games showing on this website and, c'mon, this team is playing quite well. Maybe they are not taking their chances around the goals and/or may have been unlucky on more than one occasion to get the ball as close to the net as they would have liked but some of the other goalies' performances in this league are athletic and highly noteworthy, IMHO.. Not to mention that our team has scored from rather difficult situations, surrounded by the other teams' players and so on. And they have stopped losing matches now it seems . So they need your support, not whining and severe criticism. Anyway, from the highlights I do see ambition and effort in this team and considering what a poor start we made at the beginning of the season, can't you even give them one season to coalesce and develop? Remember that everybody except Pimples make mistakes. So, let's give J R his due. He has taken a lot of newbies in the door, worked them hard and it's obvious that they are all, for the most part, fit as fleas and willing to make the effort until the bitter end. And, boy, would you ever regret your harsh criticisms if they did enter the playoffs and ....holy smokes.... what if they actually won promotion? Sackcloth and ashes time for the criticisers I guess.? Aye!

  2. It was myself who asked one if the young fans about this on Twitter when they mentioned being threatened with a 12 week ban for standing up. Of all the issues we have as a club right now they choose to put energies into this? Utter nonsense.

  3. Is anyone else starting to get quite irritated by this chairman? Now while it's wrong for fans to be racist, run on the pitch and generally be an idiot, this is once again another vilification of supporters. How many times has the club released a statement praising its fan base over the course of this season? None that I can think of. Yet we've had numerous statements over bad behaviour. The other week we won the Irn Bru Cup and the first act of the chairman was to release a very ambiguous statement about a rammy in the half time pie queue. We're apparently trying to attract new fans. People who are thinking about coming will look at these statements and think 'we aren't going in there with those hooligans'. It'd be interesting to know what the chairman's football background is. From the sounds of things, it doesn't sound like he has one.

  4. Ladies day tomorrow.....I'm not banking on any of them still being in the stadium come kick-off ?

  5. maybe just maybe the board should spend their time concentrating on how they can VASTLY improve our financial position. I really can' t believe they even discussed a ban plan.

  6. Those last 5 games are going to be tough with the absences noted above. If we do come up short this season, I don't think it would be an exaggeration to say that the main reason, over the season, would be our indiscipline. I've stopped counting the number of red and yellow cards we've had, plus the penalties we've conceded. Although marginally better of late it is still an issue that the manager has to get right next season.

  7. The club has embarrassed themselves with this, apparently they were handed this as they walked into the ground..... superb welcome. Would be interesting to know what the target group for these was.... Like it or not, these fans are the future of our club and need to be encouraged (within the rules) to continue to back the team - yes misbehavior needs to be managed, but issuing a 'scare' to people who so far this season have sat and watched the game in the same manner as everyone else is ridiculous. Worth pointing out to the chairman that at the Irn-Bru Cup final and the Scottish Cup final the main celebrations from the players was towards those creating the atmosphere - these people cannot be ignored and need to be actively encouraged to attend game and continue to support the team. Already I have noticed that various younger members of the group are now attending Nairn games and trying to bring an atmosphere there which I think says a lot about the welcome they have received from Inverness. It may well be too late to recover the relationship with these fans, but those who are still disgruntled need to be addressed as a priority. The current board have discussed their priorities as 'improved communication and collaboration with you the fans our most important and valuable asset' but quite frankly I haven't experienced such a poor relationship between the board and fans since the Mike Smith era. A few of my favorite quotes from our chairman are as follows from his message on the 24th of August. 'I recorded more than 25 subjects for us to follow up and we will get back to you with a list of action points and timescales for delivering them' 'These are all valid issues which we intend to tackle in a priority and managed way' 'It is easy to talk the talk. We have a lot to do to win back your trust by setting out our action plan and delivering this will see us walk the walk' I'll let you decide if these have been followed through... Am I right in thinking that all clubs have a Supporters Liasion Officer? Does anybody know this persons remit? I would expect that they should be managing this situation far closer that they appear to be and Liase a lot closer with the current board and the fans who have been disgruntled since day one of this regime. The fact that this person is so far unknown is laughable and points out that they are clearly failing in this role. 'Don't be drunk in our ground but our bar is open early tomorrow for you'

  9. If only we had a manager who didn't whore out players like Christie on the cheap for some inexplicable reason. Oh wait...

  10. In Scotland, only Premiership clubs are required to have an SLO....and even that is little more than a box ticking exercise as there's little laid down in terms of the function/s they must perform/fill. Historically, ICTFC operated on the basis that the "SLO" was a function and not a person (although they did have a named person in the Premiership). This meant that the correct person could/would liaise with supporters depending on what the situation required. That meant that anyone, including the chairman, could and would be assigned to a relevant scenario....and on occasion when it perhaps needed the knowledge/skills of more than one person, the internal communication was such that this could be quickly put together and/or a degree of trust that if one person had to make a decision on behalf of someone else they could do that without fear of being rebuked. It wasn't perfect, but it made the most efficient use of the resources the club had available. To my knowledge we don't have an operational SLO at the moment. It's possible someone may carry the title, but based on my time operating at the club under the current chairman/board there certainly wasn't the level of communication between board/senior management and staff that would have allowed them to fulfil that function in any meaningful way, shape or form. In the absence of an SLO then fans could normally expect a supporters group to fulfil the function of liaising with a club on their behalf.....but that's a whole different kettle of fish.

  12. That is what I have been trying to put across Chris. After Dumbarton it is games against teams more favoured to secure a top 4 finish and two very difficult away games - plus I think that the Arabs have the easier run in. But secure another 6 points and we put the pressure on the other teams and give ourselves a chance that has never looked at all possible until now. If I was a bookie I would be setting the odds against us - but hey ho we could be the Scottish Roma ?

  13. Truly appalling record but I sense we are a different team now mentally, of course, it all depends on other teams results against one another.

  16. Banned for being drunk in the stadium, for some of the performances earlier this season alcohol would have seemed a good option to make it through them!!!

  17. The young team was never banned. Only four, who have since been allowed back.

  18. True story is it any wonder the fans can get disgruntled at times watching some of the "football " that's been served up this season! The entire young teams been banned or stopped coming because there scared to shout killing the atmosphere we did have stone dead

  21. Jaggernaut's posting above is one of the most intuitive and smart assessment posts of late. This team is gelling very well and obviously enjoy playing with each other. Based on what I have seen in the ongoing videos I am surprised at the overall quality of this team. I really am. Their passing is great, the effort they are putting in is fantastic and the skill level is no mean shakes at all. And what surprises me about these games is that the pace of the game is much higher than formerly and great to watch. As for Jake, now that he seems to be heeding J R's advice and is concentrating on his performance rather than losing his temper and doing his Hamlet act on the park, he is a force to be reckoned with. His ball control and speed are awesome and he can become a very much appreciated member of this team if he really puts his mind to it--and, of course, not doing his future career any harm at all in the process. This end of the season performance(s) is very encouraging and so...onward and upward then. YESSSSSSS.!

  23. Thanks to all - I am a fan of the TV programme " The Chase " - about a week ago it was a question, The contestant got it wrong - " The Beast " , got it right. That was how I came to know the information. By the way picking holes in a 74 years old spelling mistakes smacks of someone with nothing better to do with his time.- You should note Ian Callaghan has two LLs in his name I will be taking time out from this Forum as my wife says I waste too much time on it, When I should be drinking sherry and bookselling and gardening I am off to Aintree tomorrow I will be there at the Grand National in The Tattersalls ring . See, you all next season. God Bless !

  24. Our league record so far against the teams we are still to play (Dumbarton, Livingston, Dunfermline and Morton). P -11 W - 2 D - 3 L - 6 F - 8 A - 16 I think some people are underestimating how hard winning these games is going to be. It's possible but I think it's very unlikely. We haven't beaten Morton or Livingston all season.

  25. From an outsiders point of view it seems a shame that so much bickering is going on. Can we not come together have a meeting sort out the ground rules and try and move on. At least the football is better to watch which to me is the main concern. I know this might be a simplistic point of view but it would seem more complicated to work out than brexit or who poisoned who its football, jackets for goals and off we go. Another 3 points to night is my concern

Signs of improvement for sure but overall a very disappointing season I sound negative but really expected a title battle this season! • Dundee United 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Hopes amongst the Caley Jags support were at rock bottom ahead of this one with the threat of relegation looming large. With all hands to the pumps, Shaw, Boyes and Ujdur were brought back into the squad whilst not really 100% fit. Shaw started as did Pepple and Boyes with Billy Mckay, Lawal and Danny Devine dropping to the bench. Cammy Harper was given the Captain's armband today. It's a daunting task going to the lions den to face title favourites but underdog is our preferred tag. Anyway, 252 of them turned up at Tannadice in eternal hope and Duffy heightened the intensity only for Louis Moult to level things up. That's how it ended, a result we would have bitten your hand off before kick off.

    • Inverness CT 1-2 Ayr United - Report
Having sat through one of the worst games for many a year there is little to hope for now apart from Arbroath to keep losing because we certainly appear to find it difficult to win. We have no game changers in our squad and our manager is playing the wrong type of anti-football to help our cause. Big Dunc thought we were the better team. Pleeeeeaaase, give me a break! We were second to everything and Ayr were always one step ahead of us after the first three minutes. SHOCKER springs to mind.

    • Inverness CT 0-0 Airdrieonians - Report
These two sides looked as though they could play for the whole of March without scoring. In terms of opportunities, the hosts probably shaded it, but when we did miss the first defender, crosses invariably went behind the incoming strikers. On the one occasion we got on the end of the ball Billy Mckay's flicked header was cleared away from goal by Kanayo Megwa.
Not the worst 0-0 draw ever, but scoring opportunities were at a premium. Neither keeper was overly troubled and this game had scoreless written all over it given the evidence of the first twenty minutes.

    • Inverness CT -V- Airdrieonians - Preview
Promoted Airdrie are sitting in fifth place in the table, just below the play-off places with former Caley Jag Nikolay Todorov getting amongst the goals and he will provide a big test for our central defence. We have found Airdrie a difficult proposition at times this season but we did win the last home encounter against them.

    • Morton 0-2 Inverness CT - Report
What a start for Inverness and Billy Mckay, who answered his abusers from last week by opening the scoring in the second minute, firing into the top corner after an assist from Cammy Harper. Robbie Muirhead looked to respond but Mark Ridgers was equal to his effort in the fifth minute. Ten minutes before the interval Sean McAllister curled in a low free kick from the edge of the box to double our advantage and open his scoring account at Inverness. Plenty of bookings but no further scoring saw Inverness pick up a vital three points in the relegation battle although we still remain in ninth spot but only two points from Dunfermline in fifth.
