A big thank you to everyone who came along to the Race Night organised by the Supporters Trust on Saturday. We hope you had a great time, and thank you all for your generosity in backing the horses. The evening was a great success and, including the contributions from our sponsors, we raised over £1600. As many of you are aware, the night was to be hosted by Gary Wilson, aka "Face". Tragically, Face died suddenly and unexpectedly recently, but we decided to proceed, and one of the races was run in honour of Face, with the proceeds being donated to two charities that he supported: Mikeysline and RNLI. The event could not have taken place without the support of our sponsors. Stagecoach sponsored the event, with races sponsored by D&E Coaches, Inverness Computer Centre, Scottish Citylink, Ness City Tyres and the ICTFC Social Club. Thank you to you all. The Caley Club laid on an excellent buffet, and hopefully the event added to the bar takings! Thank you to some of our Board Members. To Laura for pulling everything together, Kath (ably assisted by husband Bob) for being the bookie, and George for stepping in and hosting the evening. First full match I have seen in a while. I thought we were the better team by far, At least 4 or 5 times hitting the woodwork , and Raith keeper was outstanding throughout. A real sickener to lose that, but strangely I feel fairly confident that we can stay up without the help from other results. Call me a happy clapper if you like, but I thought we were really good tonight and really unlucky to lose a match we could have won by a handful of goals Onwards and upwards6 points

I find this whole situation very worrying. This to me smells of desperation and a current crisis financially. This is like trying to put a plaster on the situation here and now whilst at the same time giving yourself 15% less money which seems crazy. A club with no money that can afford to get 15% less from sponsors. There is so much focus from the club on the battery farm and with it seems much confidence that it will get the go ahead down the line. I think until they know 100% that the battery farm will go ahead then it needs to be forgot about and not factored into our clubs future. Its a very sad situation we find ourselves in and the outcome of this crisis might just be every fans fear unfortunately.4 points

Can’t believe we lost that, which is a phrase I’ve uttered too many times this season. Of our 14 defeats, our heaviest was 2-0 and the other 13 were by just one goal. So many of them came down to one defensive lapse or missed chances at the other end. Raith’s keeper made some great saves tonight but we also should’ve buried some of our chances.4 points

Thank you "sandgrownun" we need all the support we can get as we have had a terrible season especially at home and sadly some of our supporters have given up although the diehards are still in there with fingers crossed and some praying. If we can get another couple of wins it would be great for our final game against Morton to end the season on a high.4 points

As we head to the end of the season, if only we had an alternate income stream to use the facilities during the summer. If only someone had thought of a concert venue for some 'has-been' artists appealing to boomers.........3 points

I assume our Chairman has been quoted correctly in his letter to sponsors, otherwise the club would probably have issued a correction of some form. What I find really disappointing is that he again makes the argument that permission should be given because the club is making such a positive use use of green space elsewhere in the City. He was rightly criticised on this point by several Councillors at the planning meeting and yet he keeps banging on about it. He just doesn't seem to understand the basic fact that those making the decision on a planning application need to be seen to base their decision on matters pertaining directly to the application. Getting in a public huff about the fact that elected Councillors and Council Officials have not allowed other matters to be a factor in the decision, only further sours the relationship between Club and Council. It is, frankly, naive and embarrassing. The relevant and much stronger "green space" argument is that the proposal contains a commitment to plant a variety of trees and shrubs on the site which will increase both the biodiversity and the carbon capture potential of the site. I'm afraid I don't have a lot of confidence that the decision will be reversed. I also think it would be prudent to plan on the basis that it won't go through. If I was a sponsor I would not be paying my sponsorship early, I would want to be holding back and seeing what the promised financial restructuring involved.3 points

His mistrust/dislike in Roddy is beyond baffling. We’ve seen some of Roddy’s goals and his ability to drive forward and add urgency to a game. - Brookes could be a huge addition as well with pace to help up front. Is anderson better than Roddy, is lawal a better fit for our midfield? there was also a spare place on the bench free for Saturday and even with the likes of Ujar and Samuels fit they weren’t included in squad. no idea what’s going on - it all seems rather haphazard3 points

I’ve only missed one home game all season, league, cup and friendlies, so I’ve suffered a lot! Tonight was one of our best home performances and I am gutted we got nothing from it. The woodwork saved Raith on four occasions and their goalie had several tremendous saves. Raith caught us out with one of their few chances. McAllister, Samuel and Harper were the picks for me, but no one can fault the effort of any of our players. We need to pick ourselves up and ensure we beat Dunfermline next week (and hope they win against Queens Park tomorrow).3 points

As I am sure you are aware, we have recently and very disappointingly, had planning refused by Highland Council for the installation of a 4 acre battery energy storage farm on the site of the former Fairways Golf Course, the reason given was due to loss of green space in a private green space area of 200 acres. This is despite the fact that one of our many important and impactful Caley Thistle community projects involves the complete resurrection of a significantly larger green space adjacent to Inverness Royal Academy, which is a ten acre site that will be used as a community hub for the city and beyond, promoting physical and mental health wellbeing for thousands of people both young and old in the Highlands. Our quest to seek planning permission for the battery farm has now been escalated to Scottish Government level and it is our strong expectation that the Highland Council’s decision will be overturned on appeal but this will take a number of months. What this means is that we face significant pressure on our cash flow. This confirms what everyone understood from the comments made by the Chairman at the recent Fans' Meeting, and demonstrates the difficult financial situation, particularly if the Scottish Government Reporter does not approve the Battery Farm. It also highlights the importance of the Stronger Together initiative by the Supporters Trust, which is aimed at increasing the voice of fans within the club and, therefore, on the decisions that the club takes. Scott Gardiner being no longer required saves the club a reported 100k a year . It’s not rocket science to anyone that he needs to go . It’s been one disaster after another for our much disliked CEO . How can the club expect any sponsor to inject cash into the club when money like this is squandered on paying his wage . Has he actually achieved anything significant since his appointment or was it just jobs for the boys act with Ross Morrison ? Seems to be more clowns about the club than Billy Smarts Circus .2 points

How the f*** did we lose that, we were by miles the better team yet once again don't get anything due to schoolboy defending (which is unacceptable at this level imo), why the hell was Ridgers in that position anyway, does he not trust his defenders or something!! Has any team hit the bar/post as many as FIVE times because I certainly doubt it very much and do any team get as jammy as Raith because, again I doubt it! You can certainly see why they were on a rotten run of form going into this but of course it's against us they halt that run! In terms of ourselves, if we play like that in the next 2 then we certainly should win both and same goes for the inevitable play off games but we NEED to address this home form as it's beyond unacceptable and abysmal now! Btw I had to create another account as I couldn't remember my password and everytime I tried to reset the password I didn't get an email , usually my phone saves passwords too but this time it didn't .2 points

Can hardly believe we lost that.We could have won by four.MOM Raith Keeper assisted by his goals. If we played like that all season we would be the other end of the table. Good team effort,although question marks over Pepple and Billy needs to be subbed after 60 mins as he no longer has the oomph needed. Where would we be without Samuel.2 points

Absolute sickener. We had enough chances to win three games. As ever, our lack of a reliable goalscorer is killing us. Samuel works like a demon and does so much in the build up but he has only scored in two of his eleven league appearances for us. Mckay has only scored from open play in one of his last 15 games (and frankly looks like a 35 year old striker whose game was based around movement and pace that he no longer has). And Pepple will never score. If you're going to struggle for goals, you need to at least keep a clean sheet. That must be the millionth time this season that we've dominated possession but not got a goal from it, and then been hit by a sucker punch...usually involving one of the three big centre backs missing a header at some point in the build up. McAllister was absolutely terrific - apart from his finishing - especially given he hasn't played in 7 weeks and had only trained for a few days. If we are somehow going to salvage this season, we need him to stay fit.2 points

I normally enjoy Friday night games, and I really hope tomorrow’s will be no different. A win will help us greatly, and add to the pressure on Queens Park, who have a difficult game at Dunfermline on Saturday. However, Queens Park travel to play Arbroath next weekend, so we have to assume they will pick up points there. We blew our good run against Raith earlier in the season, but had a great win in Kirkcaldy when we last played them. Now is the time to continue our winning run and get ourselves looking up rather than down. I’m nervous though, given our poor home form.2 points

Result didn't match the performance but more worrying is we finished the game with 8 loan players on the pitch. Of the the 3 left 2 were over 30. Basically we are going to completely have to rebuild from scratch, maybe need to sign ten or more players in the summer and get them to gel in probably less than six weeks.1 point

Well I can't! How many times over the years have we seen them concede a goal immediately after the break? As soon as it was clear that Raith had come out of the blocks invigorated and fighting, I said to my wife that they were going to score very soon. And so they did. Teams and managers have changed over the years, of course, so it can't be blamed on any one thing or on one person. But surely the last thing to be said before they go out for the second half should be "Stay extra sharp out there for the next few minutes, until you get back into the rhythm of the game!". Statisticians and historians may well point out to me that we are no worse than other teams in this respect. But it sure seems that way!1 point

Sympathy for Doran. Samuel and sometimes Billy, would get more protection from referees if they played rugby. Being grabbed round the neck is deemed very dangerous but in football it seems referees often give the benefit of the doubt to the perpetrator. Dunfermline is now very important to our survival. On our previous visit we were pretty poor with Dunfermline unlucky only to get a draw after hitting the woodwork 8 or so times. Sean McAllister is likely to be our match winner this time I trust.1 point

Relegation fears back on Our former bitches came North safe in the knowledge that they will finish at least second in the table and they can prepare for the challenge ahead without having to look over their shoulders. We on the other hand, still need points to ease ourselves away from the League 1 play-off drop zone. James Carragher returned to the starting XI with Remi Savage and Sean McAllister making the bench, and for the visitors, it looks like they mean business with Lewis Vaughan, Jack Hamilton and Dylan Corr starting with Zak Rudden and Keith Watson benched. Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A bright sunny evening met the teams as they entered the stadium for this televised encounter and it was the visitors that got the game underway. An early corner for Inverness ended with a great ball into the box from Longstaff and then Billy Mckay nodded goalwards but couldn't get any juice on the header and Dobrowski gathered easily. Rovers looking brisk on the break as well in a spritely start for both teams. After Aaron Doran was fouled on the edge of the box, Cammy Harper brought out a good save from Dabrowski with a curling effort to the keepers left. Alex Samuel maybe should have opened the scoring after fifteen minutes but his close range shot was deflected away by Jack Hamilton defending his own goalline. Good spell of pressure from Inverness but Doran took a knock and limped off to be replaced by Sean McAllister. Inverness almost took the lead twice within a couple of seconds. Harper latched onto a loose ball in the box only for his shot to smack the crossbar. He reacted first to head the rebound towards goal but Dabrowski spread himself well and a flailing leg kept the ball out much to Cammy's frustration. Unbelievable reflexes from Dabrowski who was diving the wrong way. Brown fired one direct at Ridgers from 25 yards as Rovers went forward with intent, but Ridgers dealt with it well. With half an hour gone, Raith could have no complaints had they been three down with Dabrowski keeping the score level. Half Time: 0-0 Dylan Easton and Shaun Byrne replaced a pair of Brown's for the visitors at the break and early Raith pressure came to nothing. However, after a bit of bagotelle in the Inverness box Lewis Vaughan clipped the ball behind Ridgers to open the scoring. Alex Samuel cracked a low curling shot off the keepers left hand post. Sums up our season to be honest. Great effort but no luck. Zak Rudden missed a good chance for Rovers as our passing from defence went astray. Another defensive mistake allowed Sam Stanton to get a shot away at one end and at the other, McAllister got his shot away but both keepers were up to the efforts. Ridgers saved an angled drive from Easton with twenty minutes left. McAllister was again denied by the keeper from distance with a swerving shot but Dabrowski excelled moments later when Samuel spun in the box and shot but the keeper made a miraculous save to get the ball over the bar. We hit the crossbar a further twice through Carragher and Devine in the same attack. It looks like scoring goals is just not for us. Pepple almost got on the end of a cross seconds after coming on, but he never attacked the ball. McAllister dragged a shot wide from a good position after some neat build up play. Samuel blasted just over in a frantic ending as the keeper tipped another over the bar. Despite some late action in front of the Raith goal, Man of the Match Kevin Dabrowski kept the visitors ahead and put Inverness back in trouble. The motivation is very high for us. Primarily, of course, to stay out of the relegation play-offs, but also to get as high up the league as possible. It is still quite possible to end up 5th which would give us £50K more in prize money than finishing 8th. We need all the pennies we can get. It is worth noting that the prize money of £250K is less than a quarter of the prize money Livingston look set to "win" by coming bottom of the Premiership. Raith are guaranteed at least 2nd spot but seem to have blown their chances of the title. But they have to believe they have a chance until Dundee Utd prove they don't. I would therefore suspect that Raith will not be resting players with the play-offs in mind and will, instead, be focussed on getting the win they need to stay with a chance of the title. Psychologically though, the fact that they have dropped so many points recently must affect them and as a result, I actually have a good feeling about this one.1 point

We really need a win on Friday, not just for our position but to show Raith that normal service has resumed, which is an important physiological statement for the inevitable meetings next season again. With Dunfermline & Morton still to play, its very much now a battle to get up the table and be 'best of the rest' since the play-off places are essentially decided.1 point

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!-

Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report

Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.-

Queens Park -V- Inverness CT - Preview

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.-

Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report

Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.
