  1. First full match I have seen in a while. I thought we were the better team by far, At least 4 or 5 times hitting the woodwork , and Raith keeper was outstanding throughout. A real sickener to lose that, but strangely I feel fairly confident that we can stay up without the help from other results. Call me a happy clapper if you like, but I thought we were really good tonight and really unlucky to lose a match we could have won by a handful of goals Onwards and upwards

  3. A big thank you to everyone who came along to the Race Night organised by the Supporters Trust on Saturday. We hope you had a great time, and thank you all for your generosity in backing the horses. The evening was a great success and, including the contributions from our sponsors, we raised over £1600. As many of you are aware, the night was to be hosted by Gary Wilson, aka "Face". Tragically, Face died suddenly and unexpectedly recently, but we decided to proceed, and one of the races was run in honour of Face, with the proceeds being donated to two charities that he supported: Mikeysline and RNLI. The event could not have taken place without the support of our sponsors. Stagecoach sponsored the event, with races sponsored by D&E Coaches, Inverness Computer Centre, Scottish Citylink, Ness City Tyres and the ICTFC Social Club. Thank you to you all. The Caley Club laid on an excellent buffet, and hopefully the event added to the bar takings! Thank you to some of our Board Members. To Laura for pulling everything together, Kath (ably assisted by husband Bob) for being the bookie, and George for stepping in and hosting the evening. We hope everyone who attended had a great time, and hopefully we will see you again at future events. Your support is greatly appreciated.

  4. Can’t believe we lost that, which is a phrase I’ve uttered too many times this season. Of our 14 defeats, our heaviest was 2-0 and the other 13 were by just one goal. So many of them came down to one defensive lapse or missed chances at the other end. Raith’s keeper made some great saves tonight but we also should’ve buried some of our chances.

  5. Thank you "sandgrownun" we need all the support we can get as we have had a terrible season especially at home and sadly some of our supporters have given up although the diehards are still in there with fingers crossed and some praying. If we can get another couple of wins it would be great for our final game against Morton to end the season on a high.

  6. Didn’t mean to offend anyone Also, those that have called me Leeds Supporter, I’m not a Leeds supporter, it’s Leeds Seasider from being a Blackpool lad or “sandgrownun” as we’re also called. I just live in the Leeds area. I’m glad that “you lot” (not wanting to offend anyone with whatever you call yourselves) have climbed out of that second bottom spot. Still keeping my eye out on the scores week week out Fingers crossed for you. Up the…..

  7. His mistrust/dislike in Roddy is beyond baffling. We’ve seen some of Roddy’s goals and his ability to drive forward and add urgency to a game. - Brookes could be a huge addition as well with pace to help up front. Is anderson better than Roddy, is lawal a better fit for our midfield? there was also a spare place on the bench free for Saturday and even with the likes of Ujar and Samuels fit they weren’t included in squad. no idea what’s going on - it all seems rather haphazard

  9. Dunfermline v ict this season, they hit the woodwork 8 times. we have played like that all season, we conceded and didnt score

  10. I’ve only missed one home game all season, league, cup and friendlies, so I’ve suffered a lot! Tonight was one of our best home performances and I am gutted we got nothing from it. The woodwork saved Raith on four occasions and their goalie had several tremendous saves. Raith caught us out with one of their few chances. McAllister, Samuel and Harper were the picks for me, but no one can fault the effort of any of our players. We need to pick ourselves up and ensure we beat Dunfermline next week (and hope they win against Queens Park tomorrow).

  15. This confirms what everyone understood from the comments made by the Chairman at the recent Fans' Meeting, and demonstrates the difficult financial situation, particularly if the Scottish Government Reporter does not approve the Battery Farm. It also highlights the importance of the Stronger Together initiative by the Supporters Trust, which is aimed at increasing the voice of fans within the club and, therefore, on the decisions that the club takes. It aims to raise funds to purchase shares in the club, but the Trust Board will only decide to purchase shares when it is happy with commitments given by the club. If you have not already given your support, it is easy to do, with full details in this thread: https://caleythistleonline.com/topic/36186-stronger-together-how-to-contribute/ In summary, the payment options are: To make a recurring monthly payment through Stripe, use this link: https://buy.stripe.com/5kA00Fe5U5Sq4YoaEE The link allows recurring payments to be made on a monthly basis. The default setting is £10, but you can change this to any sum by clicking on "Qty 1", which appears below "ICT Sharesave". Changing the quantity to 2 makes the recurring payment £20, changing the quantity to 5 makes the recurring payment £50 etc. To make a one off payment through Stripe, use this link: https://buy.stripe.com/28o9Bfd1Q4OmcqQ3ce Simply insert the sum you wish to donate. These methods are in addition to those available at the launch, full details of which are in our brochure: https://www.ictsupporterstrust.org/stronger-togetherd The link contains all you need to make one off or regular payments via your mobile banking app or internet banking, and also a Standing Order form that you can print and complete. The Standing Order form has the Supporters Trust bank details pre-populated, with these details which also apply for payments via your mobile banking app or internet banking: Sort Code: 83-23-10 Account Number: 11486617 Account Name: Inverness Caledonian Thistle Supporters Society Sharesave.

  19. How the f*** did we lose that, we were by miles the better team yet once again don't get anything due to schoolboy defending (which is unacceptable at this level imo), why the hell was Ridgers in that position anyway, does he not trust his defenders or something!! Has any team hit the bar/post as many as FIVE times because I certainly doubt it very much and do any team get as jammy as Raith because, again I doubt it! You can certainly see why they were on a rotten run of form going into this but of course it's against us they halt that run! In terms of ourselves, if we play like that in the next 2 then we certainly should win both and same goes for the inevitable play off games but we NEED to address this home form as it's beyond unacceptable and abysmal now! Btw I had to create another account as I couldn't remember my password and everytime I tried to reset the password I didn't get an email , usually my phone saves passwords too but this time it didn't .

  20. Can hardly believe we lost that.We could have won by four.MOM Raith Keeper assisted by his goals. If we played like that all season we would be the other end of the table. Good team effort, although question marks over Pepple and Billy needs to be subbed after 60 mins as he no longer has the oomph needed. Where would we be without Samuel.

  22. Absolute sickener. We had enough chances to win three games. As ever, our lack of a reliable goalscorer is killing us. Samuel works like a demon and does so much in the build up but he has only scored in two of his eleven league appearances for us. Mckay has only scored from open play in one of his last 15 games (and frankly looks like a 35 year old striker whose game was based around movement and pace that he no longer has). And Pepple will never score. If you're going to struggle for goals, you need to at least keep a clean sheet. That must be the millionth time this season that we've dominated possession but not got a goal from it, and then been hit by a sucker punch...usually involving one of the three big centre backs missing a header at some point in the build up. McAllister was absolutely terrific - apart from his finishing - especially given he hasn't played in 7 weeks and had only trained for a few days. If we are somehow going to salvage this season, we need him to stay fit.

  28. I normally enjoy Friday night games, and I really hope tomorrow’s will be no different. A win will help us greatly, and add to the pressure on Queens Park, who have a difficult game at Dunfermline on Saturday. However, Queens Park travel to play Arbroath next weekend, so we have to assume they will pick up points there. We blew our good run against Raith earlier in the season, but had a great win in Kirkcaldy when we last played them. Now is the time to continue our winning run and get ourselves looking up rather than down. I’m nervous though, given our poor home form.

  31. It would not surprise me that Dunc will go for the same starting X1 as Hampden. That has positives, maybes and negatives. Playing the same 5 at the back will provide the stability required and hopefully another shut out. I can see this allowing Harper to be more of a wing back but Kerr is not really that type of player. Anderson and Longstaff ran and ran and tackled and tackled. But they are stuck in the middle of the park and with only Samuel as the forward option. Starting Doran and Billy is risky. Both can produce something different, especially from free kick positions, but they need to support Samuel more. That's why I would play Doran alternating wide right and left. Billy did have a couple of chances at Hampden but I would play him closer to Samuel. As for the Tinkerville Taz then same again please. He will not give the Raif defence any breathing space and he is a cert to win free kicks. And with Billy ploughing likewise for an hour both may get more clear cut opportunities. What we can't allow to happen is giving away an early goal. Raif at home is a far more difficult task than the Spiders away. But I reckon Dunc and his dogs of War will be howling at the end of 90 minutes AND I would take a point if offered now

  33. Result didn't match the performance but more worrying is we finished the game with 8 loan players on the pitch. Of the the 3 left 2 were over 30. Basically we are going to completely have to rebuild from scratch, maybe need to sign ten or more players in the summer and get them to gel in probably less than six weeks.

  36. That was a very good performance but yet again we don't convert the chances created and end up with nothing. Extremely frustrating. The Raith GK was outstanding. We need favours now
    1 point
  37. That was wild. On another night we could have won that 4 or 5-1. Still think our biggest issue is a lack of midfielders running past Samuel when Mckay drops deep, it means we have to keep going sideways and letting the opponent get organised. Thought Mcallister was outstanding once the 2nd half got going. His ability to carry the ball could be useful in the final 2/6 matches now that he's fit again.

  38. Players at this level should really be two footed or at least willing to trust their weaker side. Macallister had two chances that needed him to stop just standing on his left foot.
    1 point
  39. Well we are bossing it and should be at least 2 up. But what role has been given to Billy. I was fuming to see him near half way looking for short ball and knock offs. That should be the role of Anderson and Longstaff and now McAllister. What a waste.

  40. Early thoughts: Aaron Doran, the poor guy - how many times do you see a player trying to run off his injury? We should be 2 nil up. Also the home end looks particularly sparsely filled.

  43. stats and predictions are all on subdomains so on occasion the embedded pages give trouble as our certificate covers the main domain as well as the subdomains. Its a little convoluted to explain but bottom line, if you cant get to a specific page on the prediction league or the stats pages just go to predictions.caleythistleonline.com or stats.caleythistleonline.com. Its not as pretty and doesnt have the proper menus but it works

  46. We agree that the club is being financially mismanaged. I also agree that fan representation and a voice in the room/on the board would be healthy but I don't think it's the magic pill some seem to believe it is. There are very few options available to fans to hold the decision makers accountable and by few I mean one...direct action. At present those decision makers have done nothing to show they can be trusted and the current plan is to give them more money and trust they'll do the right thing and be true to their word. A promise they've not even publicised. I can't be the only one who sees that as a plan born out naivety.

  47. Don't want to be a downer, but difference between us and them is that both of those teams are very well established for going on 150 years with a large, strong fanbase passing down for generations, so a large fan investment is unsurprising. We've been about for 30 years, with an inconsistent fanbase because a large chunk of the city is either green or blue, and a decent amount still holding the grudge from '94 (for whatever reason) and people only take notice of us when we play a Prem team in the Cup or get to Hampden... It might work fine for other clubs, but when we've such a small fanbase that can be considered "loyal", I feel this may end up being a pocket of shrapnel rather than being something that can make a dent

  48. I’m all for greater fan involvement and think it can only be a positive. Particularly for a club like ICT where engagement between the club and the support has typically been pretty poor. I’m also generally in support of the Supporters Trust fund plan (although you could have come up with a better name for it!), and applaud the efforts of the folks who have taken it on and turned things around, but I’m just feeling a bit unclear on how it’s going to work and what it’s objectives actually are. At the moment it reads to me that we’re being asked to sign up for cash donations (regular or one off) to go into a separate fund that at some indeterminate point in the future could be used for something that the supporters trust board of the time deem worthy? Be it shares, players, running costs, whatever? It just feels a bit vague, albeit I’m very open to being proved wrong. Given the club stance, for as long as I can remember, seems to be that they don’t recognise the Supporters Trust as representative of all fans due to low membership levels it would be helpful to understand what the board/CEO do consider an appropriate level if a seat on the board is the target. Is there a risk this could just become a sluice fund for offsetting running costs from mismanagement? Are there trigger points where if certain funding levels are achieved then doors start opening? Are the club engaged and supportive in this process, or just sitting back to see what happens? Perhaps the summary of the discussion will answer these points when posted. I suppose what I’m saying is that football is expensive enough already, and asking the same pool of supporters to stick another £20/30/50, or whatever, a month into another pot with with no firm target or objective feels like a challenging ask.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.
