Falkirk v Inverness Caledonian ThistleInjuries continue hamper our team selection at the back, but hopefully Duff can continue to impress and Brewster has delivered a boot up the rear end to the rest of them to knock them back into shape.  Matches against Falkirk always seem to produce a lot of goals and with Falkiek suffering more from injuries than Inverness Caley Thistle then if we keep the ball on the ground and use the strenght we have in midfield than there's every chance we can dominate this game and take home all 3 points.

PAST MEETINGS

The teams have played a total of 33 times (32 League, 1 Cup) with 10 goals (48 Inverness CT, 53 Falkirk) between them.

Inverness CT: 9 wins (9 League, 0 Cup)
Draws: 7 (7 League, 0 Cup)
Hibernian: 17 wins (16 League, 1 Cup)

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Jamie Duff (Inverness CT): The 19 year old Full Back has been called in to action in our last 2 SPL fixtures following injuries to a couple of players.  However, I don't think we would have had to wait much longer to have seen him in action anyway as he had impressed Brester during our pre-season preperations.  A slight mis-timing of a clearance lead to us losing a goal against Hamilton, but the lad showed great composure and seems to have shrugged it off as if he was a seasoned pro by coming back in to the side a week later and putting on a perfromance that earned him a deserved MotM.  Might still be in need of a little polishing, but he's amking the best of the chance that's been presented to him right now.

Michael Higdon (Falkirk): The physical 6"1' forward who turns 25 on Tuesday seems to have little trouble finding the net having scored 3 times for Falkirk in 4 games this season and our back line which still has a lot of improving to do could find him a handful if they're not careful.

A GAME TO REMEMBER

I'm only going to take you back as far as the 29th September last year for this one.  It was probably THE best game of football we played at home last season and the 4-2 win that topped of a week where we witnessed 3 home victories in the space of a week.

FACT'S BETWEEN TEAMS

  • The average goals per game in all matches between the two teams comes out at over 3, meaning that if nothing else these matches are usually entertaining.
  • ICT have played Falkirk more times than they have anyone else currently in the SPL.  Partly down to the fact that they spent 5 seasons together in Division 1 and are going in to their 3rd season together in the SPL.

MY REALISTIC PREDICTION

The Caley Jags seem to be continuing where they left off from last season with decent performances away and struggling at home.  With that in mind and looking at the extensive injury list of Falkirk, and the fact they are yet to record a victory this season then I'm going to predict a 1-2 victory for ICT.  It would have been 0-2, but I really think we'll struggle to keep Higdon at bay for the full 90 minutes.
