I agree with that, though I still feel that the principal responsibility must rest with the organisation which manages "bookings" for the ground - ie Stenny - just as it would with any other type of venue. That is a good article, pointing out the inconvenience caused to both sets of supporters, especially ours.

There is evidence for that? Do all clubs check all fixtures in Scotland in case of a clash? I suppose there might - but only might - be someone at the SFA who has a list of all fixtures, but they probably don't check for clashes. The person who should have known, and raised a red flag, is the person at Stenny who is responsible for the calendar of usage of the ground. If they did give the clubs and leagues notice of this, and no subsequent action was taken, then they are in the clear. But if they didn't....

I respectfully but firmly disagree. Because of no streaming I have seen very little of ICT this season, but I did see a lot last season. Cammy had a very good run for a few matches, and I don't remember him being any distance behind Mark in terms of goalkeeping. i also remember starting a debate by saying that his ball distribution was better than Mark's - rolling it to a team-mate instead of hoofing it downfield straight to the opposition. Obviously I don't want any rift between the manager and any players, but Cammy playing in goal for a few games wouldn't bother me.

Have switched it off. Morton players are aggressive and fouling just about every time they challenge for the ball, and the referee is a joke. Can't wait for Gardeners' World now

I see from the linked post that you are working with people at Fort George. Presumably this will cover the Camerons and Seaforths - and thus most of the Inverness area people who served - but I am sure you are aware that Inverness people served in other regiments too. My grandfather, who played for Citadel after the war, was in the Royal Horse Artillery, and saw action in Sinai and Palestine - see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverness-shire_Royal_Horse_Artillery . I don't know who would have their records nowadays. The surviving "Battery Boys" used to have a regular - annual, I think - reunion dinner in Inverness, which I remember from the 1960s, and which might even have gone into the 1970s. Places to look for further info would include Inverness Courier archives and possibly Am Baile. Other local regiments included the Lovat Scouts, and there was also the Navy and the fledgling Air Force. Good luck!

Wow! Very different route, and it ends up at Liquid Web. No sign of Cloudflare. Have you moved the website, or was it always there but was "hidden" by Cloudflare?

Well that didn't tell me anything. Just had a very slow few minutes and then a 522, so I ran a traceroute. Hops 2,3 and 4 are at my ISP, Zen Internet. Hop 5 is to the London Internet Exchange, LINX. Hops 6 and 7 are to Cloudflare addresses. I actually got this at the very same time as my browser was unsuccessfully trying to refresh caleythistleonline - it eventually failed and gave me a 522. There is always a significant pause between hops 5 and 6, even when the website is loading quickly. Instead of a timeout error, I sometimes get an old version of the website - a few days old. Not sure why this should happen, because I would have thought that Cloudflare would have an up-to-date cache. Incidentally, I had to make three attempts to upload the image above - was getting "unknown server error", code -200. I have no idea if that is another symptom of the same problem. Sorry, but I don't think this will help much.

Yes, I too have been suffering long response times, and getting 522 errors. Do you see this behaviour too, Scotty, when coming in as a normal user? If not, that might suggest the problem is not actually the server, but something on the route to the UK. If I remember, next time it's bad I'll run a traceroute, and see if that tells us anything.

I've cut the rest, but basically I agree with everything you have said. What I'd throw into the mix, however, would be my view that we'd be a yo-yo side because the divisions are too small in size. 12- and 10-team divisions are just ridiculous. I was thinking about this before the match with Brechin. Yes, we are in the Championship and they are in the Highland League, but if you look at the teams' positions and the size of the divisions, then we are only 27 places above them. That's only 3 more than the size of each of the lower divisions in England, where a draw between two teams from different divisions may be unexpected, but is hardly a great shock. And, harking back to what Mr Bannerman, late of this parish, once said, I find it difficult to believe that there is enough support and spare money in the Highlands to maintain two top-12 clubs less than 14 miles apart. Clearly, it would be different if the top tier had, say, 18 clubs in it. Now that we are past the fight for survival through the pandemic, it is surely time to look again at league reform.

No replay - we have just won on penalties. I thought it would be tough against a confident team that is used to winning. But to lose a two goal lead is inexcusable.

With Raith beating Ayr and Cove drawing with Partick, the results have gone pretty well for us today. Back in the top four!

I understand you, and Dodds must take some of the blame. But - energy, pace, desire, leadership - there are 11 full-time pros on the pitch at any time. Surely they should be providing these qualities, regardless of what the manager does or says? Though maybe a call to Klopp to find out what he said to Liverpool would be a good idea!
