  1. My understanding is that to all intents and purposes Robbo was sacked as manager at Hearts. It was reported that after Romanov came in, Robbo's wishlist of signing targets for spending the massive budget included the likes of Golabek, which led his new masters to believe that Robbo did not have sufficient vision or ambition to take the club forward. But there's no disgrace at all in being forced out by that regime.
  2. You didn't let me down Gillian! Anyway, I'm just off to the press to publicly criticise my current employers methods, just to see if I'll get off scot free.
  3. One thing that ought to go without saying is to do your research on the company. Not only does it impress the employer that you've made an effort (and don't be shy about dropping in how much you know about them), but you learn things that will help tailor your responses to what the employer is looking for. The interweb makes it so easy to find info and press articles etc, but some people still don't do it. I interviewed someone a few weeks ago and they didn't even know what the company does. Interview over. It's also possible to find out things about the person interviewing you, but you don't want to seem like a stalker. Internet research works both ways though - more and more interviewers will see what they can find about you. I once changed my mind about a decent candidate after seeing their Friends Reunited entry.
  4. Bennett says there: "The question we're asking all of the candidates is, 'How much do you want this job?' " If that's the most important question, there's no doubt that Robbo would give the most convincing response.
  5. Shut it down sadly, couldn't even find a buyer. I'd guess that he paid a 6 figure sum for it, although he should have comfortably recouped that over the years when it was trading profitably.
  6. Trouble is, even if a fee is agreed with the Broken Hearts, how likely are we to ever receive the cash?
  7. I'm looking forward to a certain poster coming on and telling us that Blackie is an absolute angel, butter wouldn't melt, and everthing is other people's fault.
  8. Sounds like he led them up the garden path. Perhaps we had a lucky escape.

It's a full page feature in the Sunday times but I can't see it online.

As a footnote to this, Pressley has now said in an interview that: - the interest from Switzerland was FC Vaduz (actually in Liechtenstein). This was his preferred move but it then fell through. - he then chose Falkirk over us simply because of geography. He didn't want to commit to spending 3 nights a week up north. Take note, people who say that our location is not a deterrent to attracting players.
  11. I think Robson got a few decent ones, I recall a superb "up and down" one in a midweek 2-0 Cup win at Arbroath. But I don't think we've ever had one as spectacular as Imrie's. Definitely the best I can think of, by miles.

    No FA Cup

I don't think that's the case. And Setanta haven't actually relocated to Luxembourg as such, they just set up a company there with a few people in an office, and EU legislation allows them to benefit from a lower rate of VAT on their UK subscription income which all then goes to the Luxembourg government rather than the UK coffers.
  13. What, our best players picking up suspensions?
  14. Great game. A player gets sent off when his team are 2-1 down in the 2nd half, but the 10 men somehow raise their game and grab a late equaliser to make it 2-2. But it's not over, and the 11 men get an even later winner. No not today, but 13 months ago...............and the last time I saw ICT win!
  15. Not a good week for Robbo then, his pub Robertsons shut down as it was losing money.
  16. Sounds like our best performance for months. It's just a different variation of disappointment I'll be feeling this particular Saturday night.
  17. Rossco is on track for some kind of record, having picked up his 11th yellow of the season today. There's a fine line between being fully committed and being indisciplined. Which is it?
  18. Never mind streakers, do the supporters in the stand have removeable shoes?
  19. Not an uncommon scenario! But yes, Hearts really could be in the deep stuff, although they would survive under new ownership. I heard recently from someone in football that Clyde, Ayr and Stranraer were also in trouble - the latter going public shortly after.
  20. Does anyone think we should have kept Rory on? Every time a player leaves there is always a proportion of the fans who are up in arms.
  21. I see Derek Adams has ruled himself out.
  22. If any Jaggies are unaware what a championship flag is, don't hesitate to ask.
