  1. it will cost me over 100 pounds a week in extra airmail because the domestic rates of parcel post to England won't apply Always suposing the Royal Mail don't leg it out of Scotland so you know how I feel Also if the Bank of England refuse to support the Scottish Pound I will have to trade in Euros The European Central Bank will determine the Scottish budget, if the Euro applies
  2. drilling for gas in the rocky shore off Blackpool to continue Scotland mayl want to buy some after independence http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJMLHJTi7PQ fracking is pumping water into rocks out comes the gas, the protestesters think this will polute the water course
  3. The past is past, don,t wollow in it Lets look to the future lots of exciiting derby games
  4. I was reminded the other day by a Rugby League following friend of mine, who told me when the Fulham R L club was bought out a few years ago. All the best players left the club with the permission of the courts, because the rule is new owners cannot claim the previous contracts. Theuy all have to be resigned Could that have ramifications for the new Rangers?
  5. No...they don't. I have seen absolutely no quantifiable evidence whatsoever that shows that statement to be true....it just seems to be the more that someone says it, the more they seem to believe it. You don't keep feeding drugs to an addict just because they think they need it, and if Scottish Football needs a few years of cold turkey to realise just how bad the situation was and how they can have a better life without it, then so be it. Ok - OK - OK - Don't get cross - I was only putting a point of view, no big deal
  6. I agree with every word people have said about this But lets remember we live in a real world - Leeds United a very big British City were given no mercy , with a 25 point deduction and to all intents and purposes forced to play lower division football, But having said that an accomodation will have to be found for a reborn Rangers somehow, Scottish football needs Rangers. Maybe a fan buy out and the club run by the supporters using only gate money and Sky money would surfice and repayment of the debts to creditors repaid over say 10 years. The SPL could monitor all board meetings and check accounts on a regular basis. But if they allow a free reign to another board with money grabbing and sucess at any cost directors, sooner or later the problem will occur again that is for sure.
  7. ** does anyone wish to enlighten Laurence in regard to the historical "issues ** Have you been on that strong Lancashire beer again immortal. I am too old to wory about historical issues. All that matters is the present - and the future will look after itself - ( George Harrison. )
  8. This has got to be good for the region. Lets hope Elgin City will be next, The fans of the local clubs deserve the benfits of reduced travel. I find it hard to believe though that a team from a small town like Dingwall has overpowered the big boy like Dundee , Falkirk, Hamilton, Partick, Raith, I find it really hard to understand, I really do.
  9. Regarding the New Com[any name Just pop the date after the old name as in Accrington Stanley 1968 Which I believe is their trading name, but thjeir playing name is still Accrington Stanley So Rangers will be registered as Rangers 2012, I have a feeling they are Glasgow Tangers on the official lists, but still who cares
  10. The trophies Rangers have won are now blighted, by the fact they were won with other peoples money. So Rangers having wrecked history and ruined the stats of Scottish football with what in blunt terms is cheating can get away Scot free, because all the other clubs need revenue. Any one of us could win the league if we could manage a team with over hundered million spare pounds to spend. I am sure Terry and ICT could.
  11. anybody got a clue , she looks familiar ?
  12. Hi Sorry about the digression. Must apologise
  13. What twaddle you spout at times Laurence. Scotland is built on peat if thats what you need. Indeed there are still many places where you can aquire it at no cost. As for fertiliser from Cumbria........is it any better than good old fashioned Scottish horseshit from good old fashioned Scottish stables. I think not. Again at little or no cost if your prepared to go get it yersel. Oh! and another brilliant fertiliser thats free to us Scots......good old seaweed. An abundance of which can be found around our 7,500 kilometres approx of coastline. Insult me all you like I will not rise to the bait - The stuff I get from Cumbria is very special, it is made from wool, it keeps my roots warm through the winter to prevent the plants dyeing in the extreme cold. I am well aware of the benifts of animal manure, but unless it is heat treated it can bring with it a lot of harmful weeds and parisites I am not eager to introduce to my reletivly slug free garden www.dalefootcomposts.co.uk regards Laurence
  14. As another aside - Celtic buy Portsmouth, Stick their reserves Team in League 1 ( for now) - Play their games at Carlisle - ( Direct Rail link to Glasgow) - Win their way back to the Premier League iSouth of the border , Switch grounds to Glasgow, having apealed to the courts against restriction of trade. Celtic then will be a Premier league Club, They could always play their reserves in the SPL. How does that grab you. Remember Sansea a non-English team play in the Premier league , so natural justice would apply in any court.
  15. Charles Bannerman, on 13 February 2012 - 05:42 PM, said: And as I said in my Highland News column last week, after all those years of hallmark triumphalistic hubris, a certain sector of the Rangers support might indeed learn a little about humility from a journey through the lower leagues and trips to the likes of Alloa, Forfar and...... Central Park Cowdenbeath That means Rangers will miss the joys of Dingwall ????
  16. And for the record, Adolf Hitler (despite his failure to appear in court) was guilty. You okay with this or should we not be allowed to discuss or have an opinion due to his failure to have legal closure A good few of his mates did appear in court though in Nuremborg , and not to drive F1 cars
  17. The loss of Rangers May be offset by a full stadium when Ross County visit
  18. Band for your wedding I usually find it's 22 carret gold But if you are hard up a curtain ring might fit
  19. I need as much peat as I can get, my garden is one big sand pit. I have spent 3 years getting things to grow. I get fertiliser delivered in bulk from Cumbria which seems to help After Independence I may have to pay higer delivery charges I suppose for stuff from England?
  20. Will Scotland have Nuclear weapons if it wins independence ? (Will Iran get there first?- tonge in cheek) Will Scotland close down the Nuclear Power plants, and rely on Windmills ? I think it will the English will see to that I am told that the English are more keen on Scottish Independence than the Scotts
  21. Debt isn't a problem Manchester United have a sevicable debt of over £700million, caused through the buy out. Basically you can borrow money to buy a foofball club, and the club pay the interest charges. The problem is an unpaid tax bill and accountancy irregularities and alleged fraud. If the books can be sorted out. Rangers can service the debt through their massive income , that is what the administrators will be looking at. Or am I looking at it all wrong
  22. My interest in this subject goes back a long way In an earlier life I was trained to pump water from Gloucestshire to Birmingham. The scenario was that the water supply to the Mid lands had been affected by an hydrogen bomb sent from the USSR Another job I had was to test the aparatus set up in public buildings. These were a sort of dedicated recivers that would give the infamous 4 minute warning. The warning of a Soviet nuclear attack. I also had to test the sirens that were placed at that time on most public buildings . The sirens would whale allowing the populous to take cover. Later in the Seventies I demonstrated against the bomb, I was not exactly a member of CND but several members of my family were. My wife for instanse was castigated for attendance at Greenham Common I visted Sellerfield on one occasion and I stood on top the reactor, formally known as Calder Hall - I could feel the heat through the soles of my shoes. I mention to the guide about changing the spent rods, and how did they do it? I was told it happenned above the reactor where I was standing. I said " There have been radio-active rods in this room. I have had nightmares about it ever since. Anothe job I had was to check the niclear train carry waste from Kent to be re-proccessed in Cumbria. I had the awsome responsibility of declaring the train safe from a fire safety point of view. I am now not in favour at all of nuclear power , for defence or energy, but I am open to discussion if it considered necessary. Hope the forum does not find this lot too boring.
