He used to play for Birmingham and then got sold to Wigan so i would think that Wigan released him at the end of the season then as he was playing for them last season.

The story has it that when Richard's father when to register his birth he somehow managed to spell his own surname wrong and hence the reason he is Kingson and Layrea is Kingston.
