using quote

Whenever I reply to a message and press the quote button it puts the quoted text up twice every time, any ideas?

only appears once for me, and haven't had this issue reported before or even seen it on the support forums for this software .... I know this sounds stupid but you are not double clicking it like an icon are you ?

The only way I can reproduce this error is by actually clicking twice ....

 

A workaround is to (temporarily) click the little lightswitch icon on the top left of the posting toolbar to view the raw text and just remove everything from where the second quote code starts to where it finishes ..... it will start with QUOTE in square brackets and end with /QUOTE in square brackets

Indicentally I don't like the new quote function. You don't get the arrow that takes you to the original post and you can't cut down on the amount of information in the quote if you only want to focus on a certain part of it.

As for cutting it down, you can just edit/cut/paste/format the text as normal, or you can flick that lightswitch button as mentioned earlier and do it manually entering the bbcode yourself. If you want to split a longer quote into several parts, just hit enter a couple of times and it should also do that for you.

 

Its definitely not perfect, and there are tweaks coming or so we are told, but in terms of functionality, it is actually more advanced than the last version .....
