Put the players into what i reckon are their best friends despite a lot of them being very versatile. I would say looking at that the squad is looking really good and there are at least 2 or 3 decent line ups that can be made out of all the players.

Hazarding a guess that the players in blue will be in our U20 squad supplemented with a couple of first team fringe players.

Have to agree that we do look a little light on the striker options, we were very lucky with Billy staying injury free last season, fingers crossed that he does again this season. I'm sure i've heard our budget is pretty much done for this summer so I would hope that we could maybe take in a loan striker to cover any potential injuries

Seeing as Blackburn have released a lot of young players who are being blocked out the team due to big money stars, we maybe should take a look at them considering St Mirren have taken in Christopher Dilo and Morton with Reece Hands. Also Goodwillie to Arabs. Micah Evans and Osamayen Osawe are two strikers release with potential. Both 19 I think, Evans did a not bad job for Accrington a year back

EDIT: if another Arsenal loanee comes in, Akpom or Ragee are the ones I've seen in pre season and are top class

Thats 27 players now! Not short of 'bodies' for the new season. Despite initially thinking we'd have 'virtually' the same squad as last season, there really is a new look to it! Significantly, the core is still there - we may yet get Charlie Taylor back on loan too.

But, as it stands, the squad looks good...although maybe slightly light up front? Only 3 recognised goal grabbers - (obviously) Billy McKay, his fellow countryman, Curtis Allen and our local lad, Calum Ferguson. Can Billy be as prolific again? With Andrew Shinnie away, perhaps Doran should be looking to replace those missing goals!
