Inverness welfare cricket league

There is currently a welfare cricket league in Inverness based at Fraser park, the season starts at the beginning of May and games are played in a 20/20 format with a few tweeks to the rules.

Games are played on  Mon, Tues, Wed, and thurs nights from 6:30pm till about 8:30pm.

There is currently 5 teams Beauly, Corriegarth, Merkinch, Redcliffe and Warriors.

The league is looking for new teams and or new players.

There will be an AGM on Tues 8th April at 7pm in the lounge bar at Fairways Castle Heather Inverness.

Anybody who is interested in either playing for one of the existing teams or would like to set up a new team would be made most welcome.

Kingsmills,  

Richard Burkitt who campaigned against another bookies down Merkinch way runs this team introducing some disadvantaged kids and adults to sport to give them a sense of belonging and yes the way some of them swing the bat it looks like they're used to a baseball bat!! Incidentally any rumours of Paddy Power finacially assisting Merkinch this season are purley coincidental :-)

As above IWCL helps disadvantaged adults to give them a sense of belonging so yes you can send up England and we promise to go easy on them!!
