12 days to next game

Yes folks, it's twelve days before we play our next game and I am already losing the will to live. FFS we are at each others throats over anything and everything.

The SPFL need to rethink their schedules and have football on every week before somebody dies.

Alex I'm not sure if you are deliberately trying to cause unrest this morning or whether you are fishing but do you not think summer football would have been introduced decades ago if it was going to happen?

Like I said on the other thread football is a traditional game that's always played through the winter months with the break up in the summer. I'm not adverse to a winters break being introduced which possibly would mean extending the season slightly or introducing more midweek games

Most folk enjoy having a summer break from football as they can spend more time with family, gardening and going away on holiday

Every second summer there is a euro championship or a World Cup on anyway so people who want it still get their fix

Summer football is a no no for me

So in Dougals eyes if somebody thinks something against his ideals or against tradition they are trying to cause unrest or they are fishing.

Sorry to go against your beloved traditions Dougal but I believe summer football is the way forward. If we were all to stick to tradition this world would be a more fekked up place than it currently is.

Mmmmmm I'm not going to be able to give Hughes the excuse of a burnt out squad after the next game then...

Summer footballs the answer. Warm weather. Everyone happy. Winter break. Christmas. Everyone happy.

On a more serious note, well slightly, summer football would be great. 1st of all we'd have far less call offs and pitches would be in far better condition. Fans wouldn't have to freeze themselves to death in element battered stadia in January and instead sit and watch in mild weather.

We wouldn't have to suffer with only tennis every other year.

Our teams would be more competitive in the early European qualifiers due to being fully match fit and not at the start of pre season. This is often why our teams struggle against Baltic sea and Scandinavian nations.

The Premier League is on during winter. We could watch that during the off season with the wall to wall tv coverage that we have these days.

Sure people go on holiday in the summer for a week or 2. After which they're desperate to get away from the family
The season would be from March to November. June and July being the only months where people travel.

As for the world cup, add 2 weeks on at the start of the season and 2 weeks at the end. It wouldn't matter too much all that much about players getting time off. How many internationals play in the SPFL and go to world cups. 1 or 2 at Celtic, and even then they're out after the group stage. None play for top nations.

Gotta love "summer" football .... It may be 12 days until the next ICT game (11 now), but only 5 until TFC take on Colorado at BMO Field  .

Missed the first home game a couple of weeks back due to illness so looking forward to seeing Defoe, Gilberto, and especially Michael Bradley in action. Bradley has been a beast in all 4 TFC games so far and its weird looking at perpetual under-achievers TFC sitting joint top of their division with 9 points from a possible 12 (usually takes until May or even June to scramble that many points!!!) .......
