Is it the paddle steamer in War of the Worlds?  The people are obviously trying to escape from the Martians.

If I had looked more closely I would have seen the small island behind the steamer which rules out Loch Ness.

Loch Lomond maybe?

Cherry Island on Loch Ness.

Why would there be so many folk on the pier?

There is no room on the ferry

The piccy was taken circa 1926. The boat is the paddle steamer Fusilier, built in Paidley in the 1880's and used by McBraynes.

A standard 10 coming up the very steep slipway with an Austin 10 (I think) on the ferry in post 86.  Commer minibus which were still being produced well into the 70's, British Telecom had them including the vans and a hightop version that was not very stable!

Was there one day and Dunnet Head the next!  Never been to Lands End or Lowestoft Ness.
