Roy opens cheque book again

I think the shadows may do well next year. Jim McIntyre is a decent manager (don't think much of his assistant though) and he seems to be getting the best out of a few players who have under-performed in the past. Get a couple of decent quality signings in there and they could yet emulate their near neighbours and get into the top six.

No team as yet been promoted thru the play offs !

Brora , Queens Park & Forfar failing to take advantage of their opportunities.

Motherwell will be confident now.

I see Ross County have offloaded Richard Brittain, Mark Brown, Antonio Reguero, Joe Cardle, Graham Carey, Terry Dunfield, Ben Frempah, Jake Jervis, Abdoulaye Meite, Ruben Palazuelos, Steven Saunders and Darvydas Sernas.

How long before the famous chequebook is open again by Uncle Roy.

I went to have a look on Richard Brittains Twitter what he was saying about getting released and found out he has blocked me. I don't think I've ever tweeted the guy. Maybe he just spends his spare time blocking ICT fans on social media.

I'm pretty sure Toni would be cup tied, but may be wrong - I think he could be a godo signing again but only if we have major doubts over Brill regaining full fitness and recover, if not we have 2 able keepers and the money woudl be better spent elsewhere. As with most SPL clubs released players they dont have anyone better than we do that would improve the team,

He's not cup-tied, which is why I suggested him rather than Mark Brown. Not necessarily as a permanent move, but more of an 'emergency' signing ahead of the cup final.

Granted, I have no idea what his form's like, but he's certainly an experienced 'keeper who would (arguably) be a better addition for the subs bench than an 18-year-old rookie who's been 'shipping goals for fun' in most of games in the Development League.

Toni's also played with the majority of our team - it was only two-years ago he left, when he was an automatic pick, ahead of Ryan Esson!

But this is probably all academic, as Reguero (despite being released) will probably still be a registered County player until 31st May.

Wasn't Richard Brittain the former Captain. i.e a very good, hard working and skilled player as I recall?

OOPS! what happened to him to be now in a state of releasedom.?

 Too old maybe? Or is it that  he needed a good manager like John Hughes to get him going again with enthusiasm.?

I'm a bit surprised at some of the players that are being released but I guess this simply reflects the size of the current squad.  Kiss and Burgess are returning to the clubs they came on loan from and of the other 12, only Reguero started on Saturday in their key match against Hamilton which confirmed their survival.  There will be a bit of money saved by offloading so many players, and if they can be selective in bringing in 3 or 4 better players and run with a somewhat smaller first team squad they may well be more competitive next season.  They will need to be because the league will be stronger next year and a good bit stronger if The Rangers come up and King splashes the cash.

Brittain is still highly rated by County fans, his release could be a case of McIntyre wanting to mould his own team rather than a reflection of his footballing capabilities. Would be surprised if he isn't picked up by another SPL team. He'd be a typical Paul Hartley signing IMO.

County have now poached a St Johnstone player and a Partick Thistle player through offering higher wages. It's always an unedifying spectacle seeing a club simply try to buy success, particularly a wee club. They should be trying to develop young talent, or scouting players from the lower levels, i.e. emulating the successful models of clubs like ICT or Hamilton. Unfortunately, it looks like they're on course to emulate Gretna or Livi.

I feel disenfranchised ..... both my personal and the @ICTOnline accounts can see Richard Brittain. Perhaps I/We should block him ?
