St Johnstone -V Inverness CT

If you're leading a game for 85 minutes and the opposition were largely rotten (aside from a desperate spell of attacking towards the end) whilst we passed up decent chances to kill the game off I would say that to only come away with a point is a bit disappointing.

Our recent historical record vs the Saints down in Perth is not that great only two league wins for us in eleven games since 2010, so considering our current injury problems last Saturday was a very good result and maybe as good as it would have got performance wise under the circumstances. We have a point and something to build on now. Lets now look forward to the Partick game on Wednesday night.

Massively disappointing will do for me.

With only a few minutes left Saints had hardly got behind us more than once or twice and were reduced to punting in long diagonals rather like us against Astra at home, with exactly the same result. The ball in was a good one but would normally been headed away by Draper or Devine but for once in the game Cummins got a yard of space and that was that.

Draper made that error allowing Cummins to get in front of him to head that in. That was a really good cross because of its accuracy and there was a bit of a curve as it went in too far in front of Devine for him to put a head on it so it looked like our defence was caught admiring the beauty of that cross. Players were not switched on, but hey ho as long as it doesn't become a habit.

Having seen the highlights I thought it was quite telling how Lopez tied himself in knots and Ryan had to take the ball off him and show him how it's done.

On another note I wish john Hughes would shut up about Ryan. Over promoting him as a Scotland player - why don't you just hang a big 'for sale' notice round his neck? It only puts added, unnecessary expectation on his shoulders, when he is nowhere near ready for that, plus invites others to snap him up while he is still young and cheap. Give him time and space to develop without more pressure. An appropriate response would be, "he is a great prospect, and we are keen to develop him and protect his talents. Time will tell what level he can achieve". That is all.

aye, just seen the highlights. Drapes clearly caught sleeping. As Stuart McCall said, if Gary Warren had been playing Cummins was unlikely to score.

amazing how people see football.

lopez was in the sunday mail premiership team of the day scoring 9/10.

now if hughes started talking him up Aberdeen would come and take him off our hands.... hopefully

...and that is yet another reason to refuse to buy the SM and Record, their coverage outside of Glasgow is diabolical. Anyone who gave Lopez more than a 4(for putting his shirt on correctly) was clearly not at the game or knows nothing about the game.  Those "papers" are full of misinformation from front page to the back page.

To lose a late late equaliser was, of course, disappointing but surely the main thing to take from the game was that we were so much better than in our opening league game and actually demonstrated some attacking intent, scored a goal and looked as though we were capable of scoring more in contrast to the Motherwell game when we looked like we could play all day without threatening to ripple the net.
