NO CASH TURNSTILES THIS SEASON

Fans should note that the club will not be operating cash turnstiles this coming season.

For HOME fans, tickets should be purchased from the ticket office before proceeding to the Turnstiles....for both Cash & Card Sales.  Additional ticketing windows will operate to improve upon the effectiveness of this system when it has been used previously, but it still requires fans to arrive at the ground in good time to ensure access to the ground before kick-off.  No matter the system, if everyone shows up 10 minutes before the game is due to start then we'll never get everyone in on time.

Where possible, fans should purchase tickets in advance.  This can be done online at https://www.eticketing.co.uk/ictfc/ or by phone on 0844 847 1888 (both available 24 hours per day).

Obviously with cup matches there is an increased number of ticket purchases involved....please keep that in mind and allow a little more time than you might for a league match.

The Turnstiles on the West side of the ground will not be in operation for this weekend's match via Dundee Utd.

For any AWAY fans visiting the forum....Cash sales will take place from the KIOSK located at the end of the South Stand.  Card sales need to be done at the Ticket Office located at the front of the Main Stand.

you can still pay cash .... you just have to do it away from the actual turnstyle. This should reduce the bottleneck at the entry point and quicken things up as people are not fumbling for change .... Personally I would like to see them go one step further and use e-tickets or smartphone tickets and a barcode scanner but that probably has too much financial overhead.

AFC The Sheep are on Fire.

Use a card entry system which delayed things initially but works well now that everyone is used to it.

Only trouble is that we have a lower volume of fans so costs would go up per head to install it.

If all the games are ticket only would it be possible to have an informal ticket collection point in the bar, might increase sales and saves going out just to come back in again and you need a ticket to get into the bar in the first place, especially if there's music on for the Arbroath match.

The club announce this less than 48 hours before a game, with many fans unknowingly going to the turnstile as normal on Saturday.  I'd be very surprised if this doesn't cause chaos and could well just turn into more hassle.  Not exactly productive for encouraging fans to attend.

How do you get your ticket to go into the bar if the ticket collection point is inside the bar ?

I meant an informal turnstile where somebody takes your ticket to let you into the stadium. Instead of leaving the bar, queuing outside to then come in an official turnstile. You still need to have a ST book or match ticket to gain entry to the bar.

Ross County have a system tho? Several windows in various cabins (2 or 3 if I remember) and you go to the window with the first letter of your surname.  If we did similar it might be ok but we dont have the same capacity at the present time? Time will tell I suppose?

This is my concern. 1 queue at the turnstiles replaced by a potentially longer one at the ticket office, and another one again at the turnstiles.

The ticket office will be operating 4 windows.

2 x Cash, 1 x Card and 1 x Collections/overspill from other points.

Normally there's 1 x cash gate for North Stand and Main Stand use Ticket Office.

There's a further 2 x Cash windows at the kiosk for away fans.

Stewards will be given an extended briefing and will be proactively directing fans.

According to the OP there is going to be more than one ticket window open (in fact as I have been writing that has been confirmed as four.). Presumably if cash isn't changing hands at the turnstiles, that will speed up the process there. I'm not anticipating that anyone is a specialist in the mathematics of Queueing Theory but I assume the club did the necessary operational research before making this decision.

Not a good move by the club IMO. Did Killie not do something similar last year and it backfired horrendously. No doubt somebody has done the calculation of casual sales vs cost of manning turnstiles, but it needs to be as easy as possible for people to attend.

There's the same number of turnstile operators....it's just that money handlers have been put together to allow then to operate more efficiently and easily take up the slack from each other.

West side turnstiles are closed due to the expected size of the crowd.... something which happened at some games in previous seasons.

  arrive early.

It looks like a bit of thought has been put into it, another reason to buy a season ticket book

Ideally I'd have liked to have got the info out sooner, but that's not happened.

Everyone on here who does have the info can do their bit to help out a fellow fan by giving a bit of direction to those who might look like they need it before the game.

A chance to demonstrate a bit of the good old Highland Hospitality.

Ok for me I got tickets on Tuesday  if there are problems it will give the fans something to moan about since Yogi has gone

Not everyone can do that tho? A lot of our support travels in to Inverness.

We shall just have to see how it works I suppose

It is hard work persuading the casual fan in Inverness to venture down the Longman and I do fear that this may deter some but, as OCG says, we will just have to see how it works.

2 x cash ticket windows for, say, 1500 fans. Aye, that'll work a treat. I also suspect not many would heed the advice about turning up earlier. Tomorrow's game will not be a big test of this system I don't think. Time will tell of course but it's a wrong move for me. It could also deter the tourist from popping down for a game.

The thing I'd like to know is, it I bought a ticket in advance and couldn't make the game through no fault of own I.e travel disruption, would I get a refund?

Having turned up on a Sat morning to by tickets before and having had issues on more than one occasion with - computers aren't working or system is slow, not having change available or just generally not enough staff in place its going to be interesting how this works. For league games then it makes some sense as a large percentage of fans will already have their season tickets, however a game like this wknd where season tickets aren't valid then they need to have as many payment stations available as possible.
