As Josh McDowell once said to me in a Psychotherapy session - "No matter how devastating our struggles, disappointments, and troubles are, they are only temporary. No matter what happens to you, no matter the depth of tragedy or pain you face, no matter how death stalks you and your loved ones, the Resurrection promises you a future of immeasurable good."

Do you really know for absolutely sure that he didn't instigate the move? I don't see anything particularly wrong with the club statement.

I obviously don't know for 100% certain no however...

I've explored this in a bit more detail on another thread, but the bottom line is this.   At the Inverness end, Draper instigated the move by expressing a wish to leave after County's initial offer.  Had he not done so, County would have been told to politely f**k off and that would have been the end of the matter.

I agree with your last sentence.

...my take on it is simply Draper gets told about the improved County offer and says he would like to go if the club are happy to let him leave and the club tell him he can go but only if he puts in a transfer request hoping that this will take the heat off them and make it look like Draper wanted to go all along and forced the move whilst the club fought valiantly to keep him. I don't feel at any point Draper has instigated the move especially given that the club had already accepted the offer from County anyway. By doing that they made it clear that they were content for him to leave but perhaps to save themselves from some flack they tried to shift the "blame! for the move onto Draper. Draper, having now seen the ICT staement savages the club in his interview after joining County and twists the knife a bit with some other comments which are also partly true.

He's been pretty vocal about it all on Twitter, unusual given that he is pretty quiet on social media, whereas ICT have stuck out that statement and then, in line with their current approach to everything, gone silent on all fronts. I feel they've been found out (again) and are just keeping quiet until it blows over (unlike porngate when they stuck out that laughable statement).

Almost certainly the reason that they asked Draper to request the move relates to contractual position around the transfer fee or other aspects of amounts due.

In circumstance when players request a move they normally forfeit rights to various fees or %s for sell ons, etc.

It seems pretty clear that Draper wanted the move. The rest is business and bluntly in our current circumstances we need to look after ourselves and players who want to stay with us.

As IHE noted on another thread, we seem at the moment happy to slag off our current players but laud those who have moved on for whatever reason.

It will - our ability to get promoted........................

Think you've misunderstood what O was saying - I'm not happy about Draper going to County or the way the whole saga was unfolding...just saying that dwelling on it isn't going to change anything..County are a Premier league club, we aren't!

Agree with RiG about the culpability of the board in all this too...I'm not meaning to come across as a 'happy clapper' , just making the point that Draper isn't gonna miraculously re-sign because we are all up in arms about it..

We really do need to move on...

Yet more confusing messages coming from the club over this saga. I think it's time for fans to get proper honest answers, particularly if the situation continues to affect results on the park.

I see he also plays for the same team as Antonio Reguero.

Maybe we should have brought Tony back (as opposed to Ridgers)?

I still can't see why we brought Ridgers in if there were no offers for OFW pending. The latter is a solid enough keeper who didn't really need replaced. Granted he's on good money, but now we've 2 first team keepers and one still on good money and not playing. A lot has been said about his dodgy form last season which tbh is a bit unfair seeing as he was willing to battle through groin tears and back spasms to play. I'd love to see how others would compete with those injuries. He was good enough previously to get in the Wales euro finals squad so he's certainly capable.

Our transfer policy has been very muddled since TB, MM and Steve Marsella left and it's slowly crept up on us.

Tony or Deano would have been streets ahead of the pish we have now.

Our recruiting has been woeful for seasons now. Who was the last genuinely good player we signed?

Billy Mckay on loan?

Nope, big waste of money, in the end. Only 4 goals from 15 starts, he was nothing special second time around.

That would appear to be because he was carrying an injury which our neighbours appear to have identified and dealt with before you could say Feliticiano Zschusschen.  Wee Billy is recovering well from his opp so let's see how he gets on OTB (if he can get into the side with the options they have!)

The Club is F****d ! Since Cup win 2 years ago its been downhill since then. After the win the then Chairman put an extra padlock on the piggy bank to stop Yogi repeating the season but soon splashed the cash on Foran wonder why? We have a Board who care not a jot about The Fans or moving the Club forward that much is very clear and with this years players especially defence is the worst ever but now without solid players in midfield like Greg & Drapes gone there is a big problem. Robbo clearly has been told not to play OFW & Raven (but he's had to ) because of wages but why if 2 weeks ago we could afford to keep Drapes (Robbo said his wages were accounted for in the budget) we still cant afford to keep these players? I am disgusted by the Club's attitude and i can see clearly why Drapes jumped off the sinking ship and went OTB who can blame him? he might have ended up playing part time football in a couple of years he has a family to support like all of us those calling him names on twitter etc Shame on you. You would all do the same thing given the chance. Interesting to see what is said by the club in next couple of weeks as i know people have emailed and complained but i suspect nothing.Years of penny pinching and cheap options will eventually ruin what was a wonderful wee club.

No he didn't.  He gave Hughes the biggest budget in the club's history to play with and then some more.  Hughes through the dummy out when he wasn't given even more, despite being told the club had no more money to give.  This was also after Hughes had blown some of the budget on dross like Liam Hughes and Dani Lopez.

Absolutely. Hughes engineered his own exit after taking the huff.

please let's not forget that Kenny Cameron played a MAJOR role in our current situation - no matter what his supporters say. OBTW we still don't have anyone with a football background on our board! Please don't say Danny McD cos he aint a director, he's a very well paid employee. Probably costing us the same if not more than Cameron! Cutbacks..........

Maybe we should bring back Steve Paterson in a head of recruitment role? There's a man who had an eye for a player.

As for the last good signing. Hmmm, perhaps the woefully underused Alex Fisher?

Looking back over the last 2 seasons signings it's very hard to pick out any success stories.

The players we signed during the two seasons following the cup win.  I've bolded the ones who I think had a positive impact on the team.

Owain Fôn Williams

Jordan Roberts

Iain Vigurs

Ryan Williams

Nathaniel Wedderburn

Andrea Mbuyi-Mutombo

Liam Hughes

Dani López

Alex Fisher

Tobi Sho-Silva

Miles Storey

Scott Boden

Kevin McNaughton

Henri Anier

Jake Mulraney

Brad McKay

Lonsana Doumbouya

Dean Ebbe

Billy King

Larnell Cole

Jamie McCart

Billy McKay

Louis Laing

Doumbaya wasn't a footballer but did score some goals and Mckay didn't have the impact we wanted but did OK.  Alex Fisher did well when he played but wasn't used at all and Jordan Roberts also missed a lot of the season but looked dangerous when he did play.

A parade of utter diddies though.
