If there hadn't been a statement I'm sure we would have forgotten about it in a day or two.  The minter of a statement just draws the attention of those who missed it.

I saw a tweet from a former player, but did not see the tweet.

What did it say/show?

The official account 'liked' a tweet by a porn account.  Clearly someone with access to the account has forgotten which account he (or she) has been logged into and accidentally liked the tweet.  it happens.

There's absolutely no need for such a puffed up statement.  Just say nothing and it'll be forgotten about.  Now the entire 'episode' is compounded by that utter embarrassment of a statement, referring to an 'investigation' and the 'appropriate authorities' being informed.  What authorities?  Is our board going to phone up the police and tell them that there's pornography on the internet!  Hold the front page!

Looking forward to the season starting so we can be pissed about the sub-standard football rather than the shambles of an administration.

Understood and I will have forgotten about it / lost interest probably before I finish this sentence.

Now to get back to something that is of importance.

This is what happens when a bunch of old media farts treat digital media in the same light. If this was published in a newspaper, then you should release a statement. Absolute embarrassment for the club. I wouldn't put it past the club to have emailed Twitter support to report pornographic material without first glancing through the terms of use to understand that twitter really don't give a **** about porn being on their platform.

oh dear. @ictchris has it about right. remove the material, say nothing and tell whoever was using the account at the time to never do it again. move on. nothing to see here. storm in a teacup.

Instead, we get this long winded statement drawing attention to something that was probably noticed by at most a handful of people, a second paragraph that sounds like a complete over reaction, and a third paragraph that seems to have swallowed a thesaurus and in some parts of it actually makes no sense in the english language.

We complain when the club say nothing ... but this is one occasion where they should have done exactly that.

The internet is full of porn, but I guess the ICTFC Twitter page is somewhere people should be able to visit without having it rammed down their throat.

I agree with the majority. A mishap that was embarrassing but fleeting unnecessarily compounded by a pompous statement drawing a wholly disproportionate amount of attention to something that could reasonably have been dealt with internally and forgotten. Like others, I am entirely at a loss to know who the 'appropriate authorities' are that the matter has been reported to.

Can whoever found the time to draft and issue this pomposity please devote similar time to update us on interesting things like team news, season ticket sales and the like ? The person responsible will be embarrassed but the author of the statement should be much more so. Please get a grip and concentrate on what is important and relevant to the club.

2 years ago this club won the Scottish Cup and played in Europe. How can things have been allowed to have gone so wrong since ????? It's beyond embarrassing now at ICT. I didn't think it possible to release a worse statement than that with the season ticket renewals, but the club has surpassed itself yet again!

Storm. Teacup. Once it was a public matter, they had to issue something like that. It's really not worth getting so excited about, or using it as a stick to beat them with. If they hadn't, and it was all over social media, you would have been gurning about them saying nothing, and how embarrassing that was. It will be forgotten by next week.

In my opinion this particular incident is nothing really but given everything else that's gone on within the club over the last 12 months it's the last thing we need. We need to switch off to external distractions and concentrate on building a team capable of propelling us up the league and getting us back where we think we belong. This is all embarrassing distractions, and nobody's committed a crime. Let's just forget this incident, and move on to concentrate on more pressing matters like Dundee United in a week's time

Just a porno boob then? And here's me thinking it was an actual statement from the Board about what went wrong last season. I'm obviously being too optimistic about getting an explanation but perhaps someday we will be told why they let things get so bad.
