Robertson Out

Why would people be embarrassed? It seems that the pressure put on the management and the team by the fans has forced them to up their game - benefiting everyone.

Well you give yourself a big pat on the back and have a word with your GP if you really believe that constantly attacking the club and team on this forum is finally delivering good performances.

It is John Robertson and the players who are turning things around with massive help from the away support. It will be interesting to see what happens when they play in front of the boo boys at home.

What a truly incredible insight.

The performances that those mentioned are currently putting in are very welcome - I don't see why you are trying to put such a negative spin on that.

A few weeks ago there was legitimate cause for concern based on poor play and poor results. Now there is legitimate cause for optimism based on better play and better results.

Surely that has to be welcomed by everyone getting behind the push rather than bickering about whether fans were justified in posting criticism at a time when such comments seemed to have some justification.

We are all fans of ICT, some are happy clappers who will never criticise no matter how bad things get. Others prefer to air their concerns and criticism. It's called free speech and this forum would be a very dull place without it.

Seriously!!. The plain fact is that our level of performance in most games was not as bad as some people thought but individual errors were costing us. These errors are being hugely reduced and confidence is returning to the team. Confidence, more than anything else, has made the difference, not what you have stated.

The chant "you're only singing when you're winning," comes to mind.

There may have been legitimate cause for concern but calling for the sacking of a new manager of a newly relegated team with little budget after a few games? It's like some people expect results and when it doesn't happen, players get abuse shouted at them, the team gets boo-ed and everyone takes offence like JR had taken a **** in their dinner!

Absolutely. It's now really important that the home support get behind the team next week and not resort to shouting abuse etc

Its interesting to see comments from certain fans who seem to think because they refuse to criticise or say anything negative that they are infact 'better' fans than those of us who put across our concerns regarding the club direction and structure of both playing and management. There is a constant and in some ways highly tiresome citing of home fans being nothing but abusive to players - I think on several threads its been unanimously agreed (that the minority who partake) is unacceptable - however its the responsibility of every other fan to ensure that this is not tolerated and reported to the stewards and the club - bringing it up on every other post on this site will do nothing.

While its good to see improvements in performances and results, the Utd result at the wknd should rightly bring positivity, however I think its still too early to get carried away - afterall we saw a few false dawns last year too.

The way things are going I'd be pretty surprised if we don't win the league.

I seem to recall, when we were last in this league, we were 15 points adrift of top spot around Xmas time. At the moment we are two points better off just now - only 13 points adrift. :ponder:

Nonsense. Nothing less than the treble for me - League, Scottish Cup and Irn Bru Cup. Glad we sacrificed the League Cup to concentrate on those three competitions.  :ictscarf:

The players and staff have responded to the criticism... Which was merited.

Fans who pay their entrance every week or fork out for a season ticket have every right to let their feelings be known.

..and equally, now that things are going better, should now be showing their appreciation of the change of fortunes loudly and clearly.

In football some truisms remains as ever they were....it takes time for a new manager, with  a new group of players, in a new league to become a cohesive unit and find an effective style. Robbo appears to have found a balance between roughing up players in public, when they have let themselves and the fans down, working out who responds to what, and who fits in where, and praising where praise is due. We've clearly got a step on the ladder climbing up, matches against Livingston and St Mirren, will tell if we can match the best, and keep climbing...we have a nice run of games to the end of the year that could see us in a good place.

It'll find it's own way to bed when we all start believing that Robertson is the man for the job!

Must know by now that if you have any reservations or opinions which aren't seen through blinkers or with rose tinted glasses then it's not welcomed. The audacity to question perceived ICT legends or stalwarts won't make many friends.

Even RF had a good run of games last year, so it's maybe too early to get carried away yet. Improvements yes but stick on for play off places as a minimum, mayb we wait until this second round of games is completed to judge the level we are at. Cautious optimism of heading towards the right path.
