Excellent cause and only £5 a ticket. Looking forward to this and a good chance to restore some 'Pride of the Highlands' lol.

Strange how the club hasn' communicated this to the fans in any way yet even though the courier and county have.

It's actually been quite widely covered in the media since it was announced this morning, on radio and television as well. John Robertson has been emphasising that this isn't a full first team derby and that a number of fringe players will have opportunities to be tried out.

So why is it not on any of the clubs official platforms then? Remember the promise about better communcation?

"He will use it as an exercise to get minutes for Aaron Doran, Zack Elbouzedi and Collin Seedorf, who are working their way back from injury."  :clapoverhead:

Phoned up Ross County. It's pay on the night. Either get a ticket at the portacabins beside the ground then or cash turnstiles.

It may be one of or both options, as the person I spoke to was unsure.

But she was sure no advance tickets will be sold.

There were very legitimate concerns about no information or, worse still, misleading information coming from the club during the close season and the very beginning of this.

However, under the new chairman, the club has gone a long way to remedy that and, frankly, I wouldn't be getting too het up about a delay in officially posting details of a friendly match arranged at short notice which will involve fringe players and is not even being hosted by the club.

As has been said, the details of the match are widely known from other sources, I honestly don't know why you seem so exercised by the matter.

This game is very much a Ross County conception and promotion which will be played in Dingwall. Caley Thistle have willingly accepted the invitation, but equally do not appear to want to make a particularly big deal of what is being regarded at the club as a charity friendly for fringe and reserve players.

The game was announced by Ross County first thing yesterday morning and since then has received a large amount of publicity in a very short time, given the nature of the fixture. Kingsmills' final words above hence apply.

Big cup game on the Saturday after, hence why low key and our fringe players more likely to be involved?

Well, you said it yourself - "Big cup game on the Saturday after".

So the derby is a chance to try out players, with no consequences for cup or league. And it minimises the risk of injury to vital players needed for the cup game.

Yes, the downside is that it would be another chance for the first team to gel.
