    Golly Heads Over the Bridge

      Teaser Paragraph:
S GOLABECKStuart Golabek has left the club and will become the first signing of new Ross County manager Dick Campbell.

The 32 year old defender found it impossible to dislodge Richard Hastings from the left back slot and although he did make 2 appearances in the 2006/07 season he spent much of it on loan to Livingston.

According to the Club's official website the former club captain, who still had a year left on his contract "has left the Club by mutual consent". As fans we salute his contribution to ICT and add our thanks to those of the club in wishing him well.

P-sgA fresh faced Stuart signed for the club in the close season before the 1999/2000 season and was an ever present figure for most of his time at the club.

He was one of the players at Parkhead in "that game" where Caley Thistle went ballistic .....

golabek_jpg In season 2002/03 he scooped 3 end of season awards - winning the Players' Player of the Year, Supporters Club Player of the Year and the CaleyThistleOnline Official Website Player of the Year awards. He also made his 100th appearance for the club agains Ayr United on 7th Decemer 2002.

ICTvKILM 06He made his 150th appearance for the club during the 2003/04 season (31st Jan 2004 V St Mirren) and in 2004 was appointed club captain for Caley Thistle's first season in the SPL after the departure of Bobby Mann to Dundee.

Golly scored the first Caley Thistle goal in the SPL when he netted in the 2-0 win over Dunfermline at our "home" ground at Pittodrie and made his 200th appearance for the club when former landlords Aberdeen came to the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium in April 2005.

Stuart signed a new three year deal at the beginning of the 2005/06 season and was in impressive form until sustaining an injury that kept him out for two months. Although he did make 21 appearances during 2005/06 he found it difficult to dislodge his understudy Richard Hastings from the left back slot due to his impressive form and made only two appearances for the club in 2006/07.
