Caley Thistle have been busy in the transfer window with three new faces arriving at the club, two on loan and one on a permanent deal. At the same time two players will also leave the cub on loan until the January transfer window.
Former Caley Thistle player David Proctor returns from Tannadice on a two year deal, Hibs goalkeeper 'Zibi' Malkowski comes in on loan for the season and Dunfermline defender Phil McGuire arrives on loan until January.
Going in the other direction are youngster Zander Sutherland and goalkeeper Ally Ridgers who both join Elgin City on six month deals.
David Proctor: David (23) came through the Hibernian youth system with the likes of Derek Riordan and Garry O'Connor and moved to Caley Thistle in 2003 after failing to break into the first team at Easter Road.
The right sided defender/midfielder made a total of 45 appearances for ICT (21 starts, 24 from the bench) and scored 3 goals. Sold to Dundee United when Craig Brewster went there, he made 12 starts for United but rapidly fell out of favour when Craig Levein replaced Brewster as boss and then spent a spell on loan to Airdrie United. The deal would have been permanent but FIFA would not sanction it as it would have been his third club in the same country in less than a year.
Zbigniew Małkowski: 'Zibi' comes to Caley Thistle on loan from Hibernian. The 29 year old from Olsztyn in Poland is out of favour at Hibs after making a number of errors in games against Hearts.
He was signed by Tony Mowbray and managed to impress in his early days at the club but two bad errors in the 2005/06 Scottish Cup semi-final which Hearts won 4-0 started the tide turning against him. Another two errors in the October 2006 derby sealed his fate with the Hibees faithful but it wasnt until a 5th error against Hearts in the 2006 boxing day match that he was dropped from the side.
A loan spell at Gretna in the latter stages of the 2006/07 season went well, and Caley Thistle fans will have to hope it is that Zibi that arrives and not the error prone one !
Phil McGuire: Left sided Dunfermline defender/midfielder Phil McGuire (27) joins Caley Thistle until the January transfer window and will give the defence a few more options as he can play in the centre or on the left.
He started his career with Aberdeen where he made more than 150 appearances and chipped in with 10 goals. After leaving the Dons in 2005 he moved to Doncaster Rovers but was back in Scotland for the 2006/07 season with Dunfermline.
