    Trust Five Charity Slim

      Teaser Paragraph:
ICT Supporters TrustCALEY THISTLE SUPPORTERS' TRUST BOARD TO DIET FOR FOUNDATION AND PHIL

Five members of the Inverness Caledonian Thistle Supporters' Trust board are set to shed the pounds for charity - and all in memory of a Scottish football great.

Laura Grant, Les Kidger, Mairi MacLean, Doug Ritchie and David Sutherland are all embarking on a diet and exercise programme in aid of the British Heart Foundation. And the entire effort is to be dedicated to Motherwell captain Phil O'Donnell who died from heart failure during a match at Fir Park last month....

The weight loss campaign, which will run until March 31st, is taking place in conjunction with Inverness gym Fitness First whose staff will monitor the progress of the five volunteers and advise on fitness programmes. The British Heart Foundation also happens to be Fitness First's nominated charity. "We decided that we all needed to lose weight so we decided to do it collectively and at the same time raise money for a charity," explained Laura. "And around the same time as we were doing that there came the death of Phil O'Donnell so there was an obvious and very appropriate link there. We'll be weighed in and checked regularly by staff at Fitness First and we all have to be determined to keep this up until the 31st of March - although those of us due to be at Barry Wilson's testimonial dinner on the 29th may get an exemption! But by the end of it all, we'll be a lot fitter and slimmer, the Heart Foundation will be better off and we'll have done something in memory of a fine player who was a regular visitor to the Caledonian Stadium." In addition to the dieters collecting sponsorship money personally, donations can also be made directly to the British Heart Foundation through the "Just Giving" website at www.justgiving.com/ictsupporterstrust
