When ICT take to the field this afternoon against Aberdeen at Pittodrie they will be led out by Grant Munro who has been appointed Club Captain for the 2nd season running. Munro, one of the few players to come "through the ranks" at Inverness, was chosen by Craig Brewster to lead the side for the season after speculation that a new captain would be appointed in Munro's place.
Munro himself had left supporters wondering if he would be captain in a recent interview with the Inverness Courier where he had stated that he would give his full backing to whoever came in to succeed him. However, after captaining the side through most of the pre season friendlies, Brewster decided to stick with Munro who enjoyed his first season as captain at the start of the 2007 season.
Throughout last season Munro's defensive partnership with Phil McGuire came under the spotlight. Many fans pointed towards the loss of Darren Dod's as the main reason for Munro’s downturn in form but Munro told the *Press & Journal* that injury affected his game last season and he is eager to show Inverness fans that he can perform better and handle the responsibility of captain now that he is fully fit.
