On Saturday we will make the short trip over the bridge to Dingwall for the third highland derby of the season. But local rivalry will not be the main concern as both teams still have aspirations of promotion to the SPL which makes this derby one of the most important ones to date. Victoria Park will be bursting at the seams as the chasing pack hunt down pacemakers Dundee. Caley Thistle will be hoping to take back all three points and get one over our rivals for the first time in the league this season. A 3-1 home defeat and 2-1 away defeat has given the bragging rights to County so far this season. But after an eleven game unbeaten run which has seen us pick up big results against Queens and Partick, Terry Butcher will be hoping that Caley can break their league duck against County at Victoria park and keep us firmly in the promotion hunt. As for County a creditable 2-2 draw at Easter road against Hibernian in the Scottish Cup quarter finals has given them oodles of confidence, and they will hope to get back to winning ways after a 2-1 defeat to Raith in Kirkcaldy almost two weeks ago. With the possibility of former ICT striker Andy Barrowman lining up against us since his return to Dingwall after a less than prolific sentence at Inverness, it will make it the most crucial, highly charged derby in recent years. The stakes could be no higher! Team news Caley Thistle have a doubt on Dani Sanchez who picked up a knock during our Inverness Cup triumph on Monday against Clach. Richie Foran also serves his final game of his 2 match ban and will be watching from the stand. Young Nick Ross deputised last week and proved to be the match winner with the all important goal. Will Butcher go with him again this week or will he favour a bit more experience, with Roy McBain and Robert Eagle likely to help out if Sanchez does not make it. Ross County have only one absentee, Steven Watt, who is out with a hamstring injury but apart from that Derek Adams has no other worries Gingerjaggy’s prediction This game should turn out to be a cracker and I have a sneaky feeling that Caley will go home triumphant after a great run in the league. With the added incentive of Dundee choking their way to the title everybody thought they would stroll to, along with Ross County playing Hibs in midweek and the lucrative tie against Celtic taking their eye off the ball, I feel Caley Thistle will win. So I am going for a 2-1 reverse of the result in November.
