Inverness CT 2-0 Kilmarnock - Scottish Cup

    Cup of Joy

Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC secured a place in the Quarter Finals of the Homecoming Scottish Cup with a 2-0 victory at home against Kilmarnock FC.

A first half goal for Centre Back Pavels Mihadjuks and a wonder strike from substitute Adam Rooney were enough to win the day, but Kilmarnock might have left feeling a little hard done by after the referee overturned a decision to give them a penalty and instead awarded a free kick on the outside of the box.

Caley Jags players and fans will be delighted at witnessing the second clean sheet in a row and it's back to league business next week with an away match against Dundee Utd.

     From site:

Not classic stuff. First half was good up and at em work, with Odhiambo shining early on, but faded from the game. Imrie did not replicate last weeks classic, and nothing seemed to work for him, though he ran hard enough. Rooney seemed mia a few times going forward, perhaps he forgot what he was there for. Took his goal very well from a telling pass from Proctor, but really it was an extra man goal.

Esson was solid, and the defence seem to work well together. Lionel was my MOM both for his stopping and his moving forward. The ball seemed to go to him from the midfield quite a lot and he usually found something good with his passes. Tokes on the other hand didn't seem to go forward as much, not till later.

Duncan had a good game as did Foran. Missed a sitter though. Black seemed a bit quiet, but contributed sporadically.

All in all a good day, Terry is working with the side and he will get better and better performances out of his squad. A couple of wins like that in the league and all bets are off. In terms of contracts and the new chaps, get Pavels and Odhiambo tied up asap!
