  1. HawkeyeTheGnu do you know anything about football ? The more you post the more I think you aint got a clue what your talking about. Another classic fail . What did I say above that was inaccurate? Would you like a copy of the angling times with that?

  2. I think the squad is about as strong as it has ever been in terms of decent cover for positions, but I agree we could do with another centre half. Tokely can also cover there in addition to the three players you mentioned, but iirc, McCann's only on loan until January and either Tokely or Proctor will probably be required to play right back.

  3. It looks right - all the seeds finished above us last season. Although, as it is the SFL cup, maybe they should base the seedings on SFL positions. As the current SFL champions. that would make us No 1 seeds! Can't you just hear the West Coast griping if they pulled that stunt!

  4. I'd say Munro or even Tokely would have been a better choice than David Weir.

  6. I won't bother correcting your grammar and spelling then. I was having trouble communicating with the grunts from the caley massive; I mean using three syllable words in succession is not exactly showing off! Oh and try some punctuation too...,,,,(sic)

  8. You are assuming I live in the REAL capital of the Highlands- but due to work commitments it is probably somewhat closer to Inverness than yourself . Incidentally, this 'Haddie' actually goes to the matches! ......and is not blinded by devotion. Geography not your strong point either? Officially Aberdeen is not in the Highlands. Geographically it is the Highlands! - not regionally, but The Highland Boundry fault starts above Stirling in my atlas. Anyway, another example of ICT fans going off topic to avoid talking about real football issues - of which Thistle have plenty of. The Highland boundary fault runs from Lochranza on Arran to Stonehaven so you are correct that Aberdeen is indeed a Highland club but Stirling is somewhere in the middle of it. The good news of course is that Ross County were very far off the mark when they claimed to be the first Highland club to appear in a Scottish cup final, kind of making an @rse out of all those neutrals who travelled down with the tinklers hoping to see a bit of Highland history, now that is a FAIL, part time County fans Thanks for that - at least someone up here knows where they're from! Too many opinions on this forum without any need to check the facts. ICT fans always seem to be overly aggressive and on the defensive-some parallel to the playing style methinks. Anyway, what else would you expect from the Butcher!

You thought the cup was The Scottish Football League Cup and was run by the SFL , I'd stop digging now if I was you .

  12. Are you mad or what? I seriously hope you jest! His options were what, precisely? I will repeat a post I made on the Peterhead thread..........Maybe so...but don't you think it would be just a leetle shade patronising to put the whole U-19 team in against Wick Academy in the NOS cup.given that with Gil and Foran still not fit, Innes not around and 16 penciled in for Peterhead.that leaves only four players who would get to rest anyway...........and there aren't enough u-19s to make up a team and fill the bench? I doubt anyone is going to get a rest. There was a choice to be made.and it was made....better to get to the next round of the CIS cup and possibly a chance of a big pay day, than the NOS cup, which will gain not a lot more than match practice. And, tbh. Wick is a decent enough team.......play good passing football......and only the terminally over-optimistic would have expected the divine right of winning just because we are ICT.......when we had no option but to put boys in against men. The boys played well.....very well for chunks of time.....worked hard for each other. They missed a few chances......made a few mistakes.............as did Wick..but wick took their few chances, made less mistakes. .... but then they have the benefit of experience.

  13. i dont quite get why people come on here and do things like that okay your fishing for a bite but to then turn round and say that we dont let the football do the talking...is that not what the OP is doing by coming on here fishing..how about we just sit and wait till we have played each other on a side note however i agree, we are a team in its infancy in the fact that we havent even reached an "Adult" 18 years old yet.....but for one so young we have achieved an awful lot im sure you will agree

You honestly think it would be funny to see a kid with the name of a man inprisioned for sexual assault on the back of their shirt? Thats disgusting and disgraceful!!! I also dont get offended easily so to be honest i couldnt really care less what you think about me

  17. Really boring game. The only exciting part was the build up play and Rooneys new party trick to tie their centre back in a knot before cooly putting our third away. I thought Nick Ross had a fantastic game - he just didn't stop running! Duncan - Oh dear. Considering his (flukey) goal last week and his consistent level of performance in the latter stages of the first division, to perform like that against Peterhead is criminal and entirely unprofessional IMO. Butcher could see he couldn't be arsed being on the field so hooked him for Morrison. Good call Butcher.

Cos it's very likely that this will happen won't it. Just pointing out that the current SFL champions are seeded lower than some teams who are not even member of the SFL. What on earth are you on about now ?

  20. Do you not realise that the draw would effectively return the same fixtures anyway? With home games instead of away and away games instead of home. At this stage yes, at earlier stages no. And seeding has no effect on whether the tie is home or away. The top seeds go in one pot, the bottom seeds in another, what you are suggesting is effectively swapping the pots so home becomes away and vice versa. Seeding has no effect on the venue of the game. Otherwise Aberdeen wouldn't have been playing at Alloa, or St Mirren wouldn't have gone to Dingwall. At this stage, yes it is pretty much like swapping the pots round, so little would change. In earlier rounds, it would actually mean that the teams fnishing at the top of the SFL could draw SPL opponents. All it really was, was an observation that the SFL seed SPL clubs above their own members. At no point did I think that it either would or should happen. To be honest, all it would be likely to do is eliminate some of the 'top' SFL clubs in ther first round. Its not the SFL cup though , so the SFL have nothing to do with seedings !

  21. Celtic Wonder what Dornoch Caley thinks of Lennon now. In his only important games of note in his career as Celtic manager he has failed to register a win. Out of the Scottish Cup to Ross County and papped out of both the Champions League and the Europa Cup. In the league he has so far this season beaten two teams with a combined transfer budget of around ?0. So far it would appear that Lennon is on the way to eclipsing Celtic greats like Barnes and Mowbary

  22. The fact they finished the previous season in a higher league seems to have escaped you. Why stop there though, seed by points gained in the previous league campaign. 1. Rangers 2. Celtic 3. Livingston 4. ICT. 5. Stirling 6. Alloa ........etc. That would produce tasty cup ties like Stirling v Falkirk, that's not really fair on Stirling is it? Oh wait..... No, they finished in a non SFL league. ICT are the SFL champions. They are not the champions of Scotland, Britain, Europe or the world. But they are the champions of the Scottish Football League. Go figure. HawkeyeTheGnu do you know anything about football ? The more you post the more I think you aint got a clue what your talking about. Another classic fail .

    • Inverness CT -V- Raith Rovers - Preview
The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.

It's Now or Never: That's what Elvis used to say. We are in deep trouble up to our necks with no signs that we can turn this around. Defeat to Arbroath could be the final nail in our coffin with only fifteen points available to us ahead of this game. The play-offs are looking more likely by the minute, but it's not beyond the realms of possibilty that automatic relegation is still an option should Arbroath beat us on Saturday. With the long suffering fans rapidly losing faith in Big Dunc, it's crunch time as Arbroath head North to the venue they won at the last time they were here. Sadly they come to the Caledonian Stadium off the back of a 2-1 midweek defeat to Airdrie, and we could all but relegate them on Saturday with a win. However, that's nothing to gloat about as we could be next...
