  1. Why don't you if you don't like the songs Now, that remark was meant in jest, but in all seriousness why is it always those who sing that have to be moved! Section G is now infamous with the ICT crowds as being the place to be for atmosphere at home games. Why, therefore, can the 'majority' not give in to the 'minority' for once and give the section G lads support rather than a negative tag. I know most the time they bring it on themselves, but perhaps if people supported them and joined in, there'd be alot more mutual respect. I don't claim to be one of the section G lads, but I certainly aint a sweet rustler either.

  2. I think it's fair to say that the lads in section G have moved enough times already to try and create atmosphere. From behind the goal to the end of the main stand, to behind the goal, to the uncovered west stand, then back behind the goal... every time they moved the have have tried to make everyone else happy, and then everyone turns against them; be that stewards or other supporters - they can't win! The only place they can sing whilst recieving minimal backlash, is Section G in the north stand... Fact is, as much as I have to agree with folk who say the over-use of obsceneties needs to be dulled down, these lads are the only people who DO create atmosphere, and when it's good, it's feckin fantastic!

  4. Lizi as soon as im home you'll be getting a green dot from me too, I sit in G about 2 3rds of the way up the two seats next to me are always free, and when the Stewards kick off i will point out the two seats and the lads to sit... stand there for a bit, the wee lad who had the voovosala whats it, sat there untill his sister put the tanoy out for him :) I like the banter and do sing now and then, but did want to draw a line this weekend with the over the top swearing and C word usage for 90 mins, it wasnt big or clever.

  5. I has to be pointed out that you can count on one hand or so how many 18 year old players have come into the SPL teams. It usually means the club thinks a lot of the players, as most managers would try play an experienced older player to fill the gap. It is a big pat on the back for Nick that Tel and Mo think he to be good enough. Our 3 league games so far has shown him to have a reasonable game, an excellent game and a reasonable game. You could say he has been as consistant as our team. I certainly beleive he will be an important player in our future

  6. No slagging from these quarters: have a green dot. I'd avoided this topic too so far as I wasn't at the game, but I agree completely with you that there can be no justification for these sorts of chants at football. It's not simply that their intended target almost certainly doesn't deserve this sort of attack; statistically it's also very likely that there will be someone in earshot whose life has been affected in some way by some sort of child abuse. The last thing anyone in that position would want to hear is the subject being made light of and used as a cheap weapon to try and hurt someone who is, ultimately, just a footballer for a rival team. Sorry if these seems melodramatic, but as jagster says, there are some things people feel strongly about.

  7. Sorry boys, and IHE, but I have had a season ticket for Section G since the North Stand was completed and I have no intention of givingup my season ticket for somewhere else. I was there long before the "Singing Section" decided to camp in Section G after the "open seating area" was a no-go, due to over-stewarding. I enjoy being in Section G, no rain, no sun, plenty atmosphere. I also join in the singing, chanting, foot stamping and especially enjoy if someone bangs the drums (not often enough!) - where have all our drummers gone? Maybe I didn't enjoy the constant use of the 'c' word last Saturday but, I kept my mouth firmly shut then as I am not one of the "sweetie-rustlers" and have had plenty "craic" with the boy/young men behind me over the seasons/years. I did join in the chorus of "Oh Inverness" to try to encourage the team, especially in the final quarter of the game. Surely, not everyone is tarred with the same brush - I don't shout abuse about our team, or our supporters. Likewise this forum should perhaps do the same. I await the backlash - I usually get plenty when I post - which is why I seldom do.

  9. It is well known that the two most devisive characters in the dressing room when TB took over were Imrie and Barrowman.

  10. three times yesterday all ross had to do was cross the ball from near the bye line, each time he hit the defender resulting in a corner. from hamiltons point of view this is excellent defending, stopping crosses coming in. from an ict view it is crap not getting the ball past the first defender. butcher talks the boy up because he has to as he has no one else to play while foran is out injured. as soon as foran comes back he will dissapear to the bench where he belongs. could he please take odiambo with him. the little black hamilton centre forward gave him a lesson yesterday, receive pass, control ball, hold off defender, bring someone else into play. odiambo receive pass, take a touch like an elephant, loose ball, pressure back on our defence.

  11. Swearing I am no prude. I sit in section G for the atmosphere and am fine with the occasional use of the Anglo Saxon as an unintended expletive or as a connecting, adjective, or rhyming word in a song. However, yesterday it was just offensive and not funny: Constant (and I mean constant) 'Imrie you are an F'ing C' adds nothing to the atmosphere, is not clever, and I am sure only serves to fire up the inteded recipient. This is just one of many examples. The constant reference to Imries' private life was the same. There is a difference between clever banter and slanderous base insult. But it's not just Imrie, more and more we are just hearing repetative insults to the opposition, ref etc which make the protagonist sound like an inarticulate idiot. Come on lads....you used to do a great job of livening up the North stand with wit and banter and people used to join in (I know not enough... but some). Those people on the fringes who you are trying to get to join in are just getting sickened by you and thinking of moving...or have already. If you really want to help the club you need those on the fringes, who are not brave enough to shout on their own, to join in. I have supported you on here on numerous occasions in the past but yesterday, and not for the first time, you alienated me. And you are right next to the family section!

  12. i think your being a bit harsh there, first half today he hardly recieved a pass second half when he got the ball put in a few very good crosses. the boy is 18 and is still developing give him a fecking chance.

  13. Pedz.... You could have started a thread on any of our players yesterday, inviting others to submit similarly abusive comments. Remember it is a team game - yesterday the whole feckin team was abysmal - why single out just 1 player?

  14. I woldn't really have expected more than 1 point at this stage when the fixtures came out. Home to celtic - nil points, away to Utd. - nil points, home to Hamilton - une point (we haven't beaten them in the SPL, yet). All in all a positive start and certainly as good as could have been expected considering we have a few players new to the SPL and a few injuries.

  15. I have to admit I agree with you about Imrie but have to admit I find that picture on your posting of the kid with the 2 fingers up quite offensive from someone so young...what does the future hold without decent guidance!!!! Havent seen anything like it since Ibrox...and it wasn't from from a Caley fan!!!!

  17. I've been watching this topic for the last few days and for what It's worth I thought I would throw in my tuppence worth. Before the game there were many saying they would show Dougie some respect and others who appeared to have an utter dislike of the man. Whichever viewpoint you took there is absolutely no way anyone can condone the singing of 'Dougie Imrie, Paedophile'. To liken him to some of the vile people who have committed such a despicable crime against children is truly appalling. Like many others I was quite upset by his celebrations but when I sat down and thought about it, it was no more than those so called supporters deserved. I have spoken many times to those around me and stood up for the section G guys but on this occassion what could be said - Allegations - that if were true and was as public knowledge as we are led to believe would surely have gone much further than allegations. Like many others it can be a great craic winding up other players etc but somethings step over a certain line and IMHO this was one of those times. No doubt some will say to lighten up etc but sometimes people feel strongly about certain things and to top it all off, they were singing it to the same tune as Caley Thistle Champions. Sits back and waits for the slagging off

We lost to the better , hungrier team , it happens get over it . You must be blind you idiot . Watch the replay again and you will see quite clealy the defender blatantly pushes shane when he got in front off him. I can assure you i am not a paranoid celtic fan. Please accept my apologies if you think I was calling you a paranoid Celtc fan when you are of course an ar$ehole .

  19. I think it it's a good draw... Teams like ICT can be at their best when they've been written off, and at their worst when expected to win easily. Remember Saturday?

  20. This draw could have gone better but knowing us I think we may slip a win out of this however I doubt I will be attending this fixture But I may take a trip to Dingwall to support Utd

  21. Is it just me and a very select few on CTO who think nick ross is utter p***? He was horrible today, he is too slow and weak for this league i think he should hit the gym a lot more. I think if foran doesn't return i would like to see either shinnie or mcbain to be given a run.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

    • Inverness CT -V- Raith Rovers - Preview
The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.
