  1. Go back to our first season when we played Celtic at Aberdeen. I seem to recall a player called Lennon was instrumental in having Juanjo (spelling) sent off for head butting. The TV later showed that there had been NO contact and that Lennon was indeed a cheat. Is he not now doing the same thing by crying foul at every opportunity, both real and imangined! Is he bringing the game into disrepute by his behavour? What should the SFA do? neksor

  2. Am I missing something here? Since when did Adam become so good? Yep, he banged in a fair few goals last year, and he's got a few already this year (how many have been penalties though?), but I don't think he's improved massively. He still mistimes his jumps, he's not great in the air, and he misses as many as he scores. I'm not knocking him at all, and I hope he stays, but he's nowhere near as good as all the hype surrounding him at the moment.

  4. I can think of a few desicions that have benefitted Celtic this season in 1 match against ICT alone, never mind the last 3. Jonny Hayes in 1st 30 seconds of the game bursts into the box and is blatantly taken out (By Mulgrew or maybe even Hooliveld). Result- no pen and Hayes in a heap. Later on in the same game (as already noted) Ledley sythes him down in the middle of the park (Perhaps Lennon had him targetted, he seems the type.) Result no booking Hayes effectively done in. Job done. Celtic won 9-0 against Aberdeen. Result flatters them somewhat, especially considering 2 of the 3 penalties were debatable and one was clearly a dive (Maloney I think) and Im sure them was a foul in the build up to another. As for the decisions that have went against Celtic this season that the ugly wee ginger paranoid one has complained about :- - Dundee Utd. Ref CORRECTLY reverses descision to give a penalty for Celtic. Celtic still run out winners. There is some confusion as to how the decision was made, however it is irrelevant as both the decision was correct and it never had any baring on the overall result. Celtic win 2-1. - Hearts. Ref sends off Joe Ledley for a two footed lunge through Ian Black. UWGPO argues that he won the ball. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to realise going over the top studs up, two footed and through the player to do this is often deemed as dangerous play and as Steven Gerrard has never learned often results in a red card. I must note that Celtic should have had a penalty but they were truely awful anyway and deserved to lose. Lets make it 2-1(assuming they score penalty) as opposed to 2-0. UWGPO launches a foul mouthed tirade at the 4th official and is subsquently sent to the stand. -Rangers. Willie Collum awards Rangers a penalty after a big baldy root vegetable places 2 hands on Kirk "limited ability" Broadfoot and sticks his leg out. Willie Collum has his back to the majority of the incedent(noted), however his head is turned in the correct direction(duly ignored) and he awards a penalty. It is a soft penalty but technically correct. Rangers win 3-1. - Hamilton. Forrest is sent off for a rash lunge. Celtic will appeal. Jim McAllister is also sent off for near identical foul. Hamilton seem to have accepted it. Willie Collum shows consistency here. Something managers are always on about. Note that certain managers only want consistency if it benefits their team. Ball swings back out of play after corner is taken. Celtic score, correctly ruled out. Canning looks to be offside when Hamilton score so thats one that has went against Celtic however during such incidents it is easy to see why a linesperson could miss it. score 1-1. Overall of 6 calls made 4 of them were correct and Celtic can be agrieved about 2. One for a handball the ref probably missed (v Hearts) and the other a missed offside call. Hardly an agenda. In essence while UWGPO calls up every desicion against his team, then comes out with "Your expecting me to critise the ref but Im not going to" in other words Im as good as saying the ref made calls against us by saying that I shall not. Your not smart Neil. Stop trying to be. This man has frequently since the DUFC game called every decision against his team into question yet has recieved not one charge of direpute. If you all remember the SFA have an agenda against Celtic. Funny how Levien would just have to step out of line once at Hearts and be fined (which he legally refused to pay) and yet others get away with it weekly. He deserves his 6 game ban for his Hearts tirade and subsiquential appealing(in a blatant attempt to further bring direpute and disruption as well as further delay the ban). It should be longer if anything. If one team is going to consistently question an organisation and the match officials, whilst it isn't right, they might find it alot harder to get the more debatable calls in their favour and at the same time their rivals or opposition might get the benefit of the doubt. I have to say I've not seen any evidence of this at all. I also do not expect to see any. For whilst our refs might not always be the best, and have many flaws, they do come across as fairly honest and have integrity. Some might be arrogant and not talk to players and club officials but they don't cheat.

  6. They really were quite an annoying bunch on Saturday, quite smug about being a crap team. The best thing about the main stand is no one makes you stand up to display your hatred for something. no one makes you stand up in section g you sit/stand there by choice knowing you are going there to get behind your team maybe if the main stand were a bit more enthusiastic the atmosphere would be a bit better

  7. its not about arguing which stand criticizes the team it is about making some noise that will inspire the boys to win at home. They are proffesionals so i dont think criticise is the cause for our poor home record but i think we can do more to generate more of an atmosphere at home that will make it a fortress and we can win more games

  9. Have to say I agree. I am also a season ticket holder in the North and decided to sit in the Main for game V Elgin. Every comment was so negative. Even when we eventually scored there were still some comments about how we should have won by more etc.

  11. What's wrong with Morais? He was pretty good when he was with us, and got a move to St Johnstone based on his performances for us. I'd be delighted to have him back. I would kill for Juanjo in his prime, and sever a finger for Mihadjuks to come back. We won't be signing anyone though, it will be a couple of loans from down south, who will turn out to be quite good and move onto bigger and better things. Funny how players always assume more importance when they are out injured, Hayes has not been at his best in the his last few games and might not have made any difference in our defeats.

  12. Noticed that rangers now have a TV game on the 3rd of March at Dundee Utd. Coincidence

  13. He is making them the laughing stock of Scottish football. When they win there is nothing said, when they drop points it seems to be a free for all with Lennon being the ringleader. Its 100% predictable these days, yet the Juanjo incident would never be brought up by the media in this country. They are becoming tedious with the guff they come out with. Most teams accept good and bad decisions (except Jim Jeffries!) and move on. Celtic seem to think they are being singled out! and with someone like Lennon at the helm its a recipe for disaster. Tired and bored of hearing about them. The Scottish media have a lot to answer for as they willingly cater for Celtic's propaganda spin.

  17. The fans? Seriously need some more chant masters spread across the stand. I have noticed at points if one or two sections are chanting they wont join in each others chant. Whats with that?

  18. I am a season ticket holder in the North stand. At the Elgin game I decided to sit in the main stand. Never again, old codgers complaining about everything from the weather to the price of petrol. They constantly companied with little or no attention to the game. I know that going to a match and watching is supporting the team and often especially recently we have not had a lot in the games to cheer about, but a few chants to get behind the players is surely not too much to ask. It astonished me how even a few away fans can create more noise than the home support. What's the solution, Don't know, What's part of the problem, old Codgers that tut and look in disgust at those who make an effort to make some noise. I spent the second half in the North stand.

  19. I recon Sutherland didn't do too bad, also sanchez, Shinnie can put a ball in too... I don't think just one player makes up our team as it stands.

  20. Not just a good goal. He was our Captain and scored our first ever SPL goal. To mention his name in a thread about "worst" players in the SPL is ridiculous, disrespectful and ignorant. IGNORANT???? how does that become ignorant. if he was such a good player for us he would have been in the team, he would have survived after the injury and would have bounced back. i am not saying he was one of the worst but there have been plenty far better than him. and if you look back to my original comment you will see i was pointing out that this thread is about the spl not the first division

  22. At least Dundee now know for sure what they have to do to avoid relegation and I'm quite sure they'll manage it. They just have to get the financial side in order which is a much harder task.

  24. Mentioning Stuart Golabek and Dennis Wyness in here is just completely ludicrous. Yes they did play with us in 2nd spells having come back to the club and were perhaps past their peak, but at one point in their careers these 2 players have been up there with the best we've had in the SPL for their positions. Totally uncalled for. Garry Wood is my tuppence worth. Consistently frustrated many with his inability to finish chances. So it would be him along with the obvious choices of Barrowman and McGuire.

  25. As i said in the match thread I'm a Celtic fan, i thought that this would be relevant with yet another honest mistake in Rangers favour yesterday. I know most fans outside of the old firm think that the old firm always get all the decisions but i cant really think of any dodgy decisions that Celtic have benefited from over the last three seasons, now i know that they probably have benefited from some somewhere along the line but i wouldn't have noticed them as im biased in favour of Celtic however i strongly doubt that they or any other club in Scotland have benefited from anywhere near the same amount of blatantly wrong decisions as Rangers have at a time when it has been essential for Rangers very existence that they make the champions league. Now put yourself in the refs shoes, if you supported Rangers and you knew if they didn't get into the champions league they could go bankrupt would you be able to turn down a penalty claim from Rangers or would you find yourself looking for reasons to give them penalties or to chop of goals for the other team? Another thing is aren't refs supposed to be marked down for poor performances and be demoted if they keep performing badly? How then was Dougie Mcdonald allowed to keep on making mistakes in Rangers favour without being demoted? Could people please click on the following link, read the article then post your views on the subject http://top50honestmistakes.blogspot.com/

  27. Have to disagree with you there. He always seems to be a thorn in our side when he comes to TCS. He hasn't done so well at Hibs but he was a great player for Killie. I can remember back in the day when he was on loan at Clyde, albeit as a youngster, they all thought he was fairly useless too. He knows where the back of the net is, I'll give him that, but the rest of his game is very poor.

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.

It's Now or Never: That's what Elvis used to say. We are in deep trouble up to our necks with no signs that we can turn this around. Defeat to Arbroath could be the final nail in our coffin with only fifteen points available to us ahead of this game. The play-offs are looking more likely by the minute, but it's not beyond the realms of possibilty that automatic relegation is still an option should Arbroath beat us on Saturday. With the long suffering fans rapidly losing faith in Big Dunc, it's crunch time as Arbroath head North to the venue they won at the last time they were here. Sadly they come to the Caledonian Stadium off the back of a 2-1 midweek defeat to Airdrie, and we could all but relegate them on Saturday with a win. However, that's nothing to gloat about as we could be next...

    • Partick 1-0 Inverness CT - Report
Big Trouble Down the Dump: Billy Mckay was back in the starting XI along with Samson Lawal with Pepple dropping to the bench and Shaw out for the season. Both teams had seven on the bench with Roddy MacGregor getting a rare seat. Scott Robinson scored the only goal of the game just before the break. Inverness were reduced to ten men when Cammy Kerr was sent off just after an hour. Despite creating more opportunities, the points just evaded us.

      Meh!
