  1. I wouldn't go as far as 'conspiracy' - I reckon it is probably just more akin in nature to a few other things that have gone on in the last few years Just as well the club is not a business....

  2. He isn't the best manager we've ever had. Successful yes, but the best? No.

  3. Rather surprisingly perhaps, we finished with the 4th best goal diference in the league, along with the 5th highest points tally, albeit helped by facing easier opposition for the last 5 games. Despite having spent much of the early and later parts of the season being concerned about relegation, we ended up a very satisfactory 16 points above the play-off spot! In 2012/13, we only finished 13 points above 11th place, but achieved what at the time was our highest ever league position, 4th place.

  4. May be construed by some that this is another pop at the board or players not buying into his philophy or style of play or anything else he's currently at logger-heads about. I'm afraid I don't share his optimism of a cup run/win and aiming for third place: Celtic; Aberdeen; Hearts and Rangers will all finish above us next season and he gives far much respect to Celtic and Rangers for this to change, he might as well be their PR consultant the way he goes on about them in the run up to games, it's embarrassing. This isn't even mentioning an upward Ross County who look like they're buildin

  5. barring a huge swing in voting in the remaining voting time I can confirm that ROSS DRAPER is the CaleyThistleOnline Player of the Year (elect) for 2015-2016. Ross took the Player of the Month honours for May, by a considerable margin from Jordan Roberts, and after taking maximum points in 2 of the 3 games leapfrogs Miles Storey to our award. A full story and breakdown of the voting will follow once I get back to Canada next weekend

  6. Also odd that there was no address or words said by the manager this season, pretty sure in both previous years yogi gave a wee speech. Great send off for raven, i wish him well for the future as i think his cameo showed he has plenty still to offer at this level, lets hope personally for him he gets a club abd can play a part although hopefully not coming back to haunt us.

  10. I've been away for a week, with little internet. Apart from the two goals above identified by Sneckboy, and Sam Winnall's two for Barnsley in their play off (mentioned by TBB on the exICT players news thread), I've also spotted a few more in the last few days. Toby Agdestein got another for Haugesund in Norway (7 in 7 matches now), Tarmo Kink got one for SJK in Finland (his first for them I think), and of course, yesterday, Ryan Christie opened his account for Celtic, and Stuart Armstrong got another of Celtic's goals.

  12. McGinn thinks his stock is higher than Dundee and is contemplating a move away from them so I doubt we would be high on his list of top destinations. Given that Alan Archibald has confirmed that Bannigan will leave Partick I wonder if this means a) he is joining us or, more likely, b) he will sign for Aberdeen (they were in for him in January) which would also be good as it might lessen the chances of them coming in for Tansey.

  13. Although, having released him in his prime, coming back to haunt us is probably what we deserve.

  14. I was the same. The only box was in the concourse under the Main Stand, which had run out of sheets by the time I got there. In the past there's been boxes scattered around but not this time. Very strange.

  16. First half was the usual pedestrian, tepid approach we are used to and lucky not to have gone behind due to unforced errors from ourselves, considering the possession we created little other than a few long range efforts and Dundee had the best chances. Second half was a lot better display but its telling that after we brought on Raven, we had much more attacking play down the right, better crosses into the box and covering tackles too - Josh is a great player but he doesnt have th engine to get up and down the line, beat a man regullarly and deliver quality crosses - why Yogi doesnt see this

  18. Goodbye and our very best wishes, Dave - we'll never forget your goals - away to Ross County (1 yard) and the unforgettable semifinal winner (4 yards)! Sometimes, it's not the quantity that counts! Delighted he was given the send-off he deserved. The victim of a manager who would prefer to play one of our class central defenders as a makeshift right back ahead of a class right back. Go figure... You'll be missed and not forgotten.

  19. I wasn't at the game because I live down south, but irrespective of the performance, it's one of the best results of the season. Hughes may have been too stubborn at times with continuing with possession based football when we don't have the attack minded players to play through the middle and open up defences, but I'd rather see that than see us struggling to keep possession. What I like about Hughes is that he knows what he wants, and hopefully he'll bring in the players to fill the gaps we've had this season. Fans saying they won't renew their season tickets are **** fans, talk about

  20. Brilliant result, one of the best this season. Dundee are no mugs and have a higher budget than us, as well as some really good players. People calling for Hughes' head need to wake up. You may not agree with some of his decisions and I'm disappointed that Raven is leaving too, but the man has given us the most successful spell in our history and this season has actually been pretty decent considering the mass exodus of all our best players and the massive injury list. There's been 8 replies to this topic. If we had lost this game, there would no doubt have been page after page of people

  21. Great result to finish off the season, 4 wins out of 5, (and how do we lose that Dundee Utd match) so we were clearly better than bottom 6, we just cocked it up with a couple of home games in March (at the same time as falling short on the Scottish Cup). Considering the horrendous start to the season, the loss of Christie and the injuries in many respects not bad. However it seems as if Yogi has used up quite a bit of credit with fans (and the board?), with some unrest over Ravens departure and perhaps Foran...although if those two events actually allowed us to sign Storey permanently and exte

  22. Sadly, this is the tough part of football, saying goodbye to olde friends and great servants of the club. I was devastated when Bobby Mann left. Same when Rooney, Hayes, Shinnie, Shinnie, etc etc. However, we have replaced them and went on to have our best finish ever and won the Scottish Cup. Shoot me down here, but I believe that Meekings could offer more goal threat than Raven ever did. He is powerful, he is quick and can skelp the ball. That's not to say he is my preferred choice at right back, but unfortunately he is also a better central defender than some playing there. I'm not on

  24. Agree with Kingsmills - this sounds like a cry for help rather than a genuine desire to leave, unless he's got something up his sleeve, which seems unlikely given his injuries. This raises the question: If RF were to want to reach a "mutual agreement" and leave for free, should the club accept? For me, yes. He's been a fantastic player for us, but his injuries and age make him a liability now. Harsh, but these are the realities of modern football.

  29. Sure is a lot of People ITK on this site. This is rumours started on Social Media sites by people who clearly don't like Yogi. He is the best manager we have had, sure he's not perfect but he's done a great job! I expect him to be with us until end of his contract at least.

    • Inverness CT 2-2 Ayr United - Report
Season ends in stalemate: Inverness opened the scoring early through Daniel Mackay in the sixth minute. We were unable to build on that and Ayr levelled before the break when Aaron Muirhead converted a penalty after Baird went down in the box. Level at the break but Sean Welsh bagged a penalty two minutes into the second half only for United to level again through Josh Todd. No further scoring but results elsewhere meant that Ayr were safe and Dundee jumped above Raith Rovers to finish second.

The forum will operate as normal, we just wont be promoting anything to our FB/Twitter etc.

    • Inverness CT -V- Ayr United - Preview
For us, it's the final game of the season as we have missed out on the promotion play-offs despite a tremendous last six weeks which saw us go on a six game winning run including a derby Scottish Cup win over Ross County. Unfortunately we left ourselves an uphill task after the first two thirds of our season was decimated by injuries, covid and inclement weather. Ayr United head North with Championship survival high on their agenda as they look to avoid the relegation play-offs with Arbroath and Morton the other contenders. The game is a 19:45 kick-off on Friday night.

    • Hearts 3-0 Inverness CT - Report
Our season looked over inside ten minutes after Mackay-Steven ran at the defence before drilling a low shot into the bottom corner as the defenders backed off. McEneff doubled the lead with the aid of a deflection in the ninth minute to nestle the ball in the bottom corner again. Mackay-Steven notched his second as he poked his leg in between Deas and Ridgers to kill the game with half an hour gone. The second half was an anti-climax for both sides with no further scoring, and with results elsewhere our challenge has come to an end.

    • Hearts -V- Inverness CT - Preview

After the disappointing draw with Dundee in midweek, our destiny is in the hands of others. All we can do is gather points and hope that others can lend a helping hand by taking points of Dunfermline and Dundee as we visit Tynecastle to take on Champions Hearts. All games kick-off at 3:00pm on Saturday, it's a massive day of football in the Championship.
