  1. Sometimes life is more important than a football club.

  2. Baird may not (yet) be finding the net, but he puts in a power of work and deserves credit for contributing to the team's overall performance.

  3. I know the new chairman has a number of plans in place to improve the stadium and what not. So far I've heard plans are afoot to improve the car parks, new toilets, try and bring some sort of tie in with the North Coast 500 and the sports bar will soon become something a bit more homely. So what plans do you have to improve the matchday experience and try and enhance the crowds? I know he's been having meetings with a lot of fans and I assume he read this site so it could be a good idea to use this thread as a sort of central hub for everyone's ideas. Here's one idea I have for an improvement is for the wheelchair-bound supporters. Now granted, there's been a slight improvement in the perspex dugout, but the general match experience must still be pretty poor, shunted over to one side with a worm's-eye-view. Surely it's time we gave disabled fans a special area with a decent view. As some may have noticed that St Mirren recently built this - Could we not do something similar?

  4. The performance was much better than the result suggests. We spurned several decent opportunities, and the Pars keeper made three very good saves. In contrast, Dunfermline only had two good chances, both from defensive mistakes. Whilst the crowd were understandably nervous in the last 15 minutes, the players didn't look panicky in the slightest about only having a one goal lead. Confidence is a wonderful thing. I think every one of the starting XI can be happy with their performance. It helps that we've hit upon a system that works for us both defensively and in attack. In that spirit, it's only fair that I point out that Baird and Chalmers, two of my early-season whipping boys, did well. Using Baird to run the channels and stay on the shoulder of the last defender is far more effective and that was the best I've seen him play for us. Chalmers has found his niche in midfield, and keeps things ticking over nicely so Vigurs and Polworth can concentrate on creating things. The three stars were Bell, Vigurs and Donaldson. Bell must have covered every blade of grass and was out on his feet in the last ten minutes. His movement off the ball is great and he's clearly a really intelligent player. Vigurs meanwhile has reinvented himself as a Pirlo-esque playmaker (yes, really!) and I thought the way he controlled our tempo was terrific. And as for Donaldson...wow. Just, wow. The guy looks a class act, which is astounding given his struggles at Dundee United. Our central defence looks about a million times better for having him, just because his positional sense is so good. Every time a ball came into our box it seemed magnetically attracted to him. Clearly he just needed a change of scenery. We need to sign him on a long contract pronto. I'm dangerously close to getting optimistic about our season...

  5. Baird's contribution and workrate was acceptable in my book, I feel when this lad's luck changes in front of goal he'll start scoring for fun. Discipline & Ability??..........

  7. The areas that went through my mind would be taking away the first eight rows or so of either the family section of the North Stand or in the wing of the Main Stand, building a platform that comes a bit and have that as a disabled section. The view would be better in either section and also in a position when hard wayward shots wouldn't be such a danger. You could find a way around having a lift as well. In terms of the catering, my understanding is that the pies are still (or were up until recently) made in Glasgow, frozen and then brought up to Inverness during the week and then defrosted and reheated for the Saturday. We have Harry Gows, Ashers, Duncan Fraser's and other local companies whose products are a far higher quality. Why don't we use them? Ross County do. If your ground becomes known for having really good catering then people will use it despite the high pricing, as we've seen with Kilmarnock and the Killie Pie and Dunfermline's bridie. We could sell Dream Rings at games. People would buy them in droves! The tannoy is also a disgrace. We nearly had a match postponed once because it failed yet some weeks you'd be forgiven for thinking it'd packed in years ago. What would happen if there was emergency? On Saturday it was barely audible. I've been to Highland League grounds with a clearer tannoy. I don't know what it's like in the Main Stand, but almost always in the North Stand it is unacceptable.

  10. ....since August, when some responses to questions about this organisation included the suggestion that those who were asking them were "sniping" or being unfairly impatient or the like. It seems inconceivable that what is still one of Scotland's leading football clubs continues to suffer from the long term absence of an active supporters' organisation. The word was that the process of organising a CJT AGM would begin "in the next couple of weeks"... that was back on August 29th.

  13. Must know by now that if you have any reservations or opinions which aren't seen through blinkers or with rose tinted glasses then it's not welcomed. The audacity to question perceived ICT legends or stalwarts won't make many friends. Even RF had a good run of games last year, so it's maybe too early to get carried away yet. Improvements yes but stick on for play off places as a minimum, mayb we wait until this second round of games is completed to judge the level we are at. Cautious optimism of heading towards the right path.

  14. He has always had plenty of skill in abundance and he appears to have knuckled down to the task. Another good performance from him yesterday, especially in the first half, not so much in the second when Pars sussed his tactic a little, but overall he was the one pulling the strings.

  17. That's the most enjoyable game of football I've witnessed at the TCS for a long time, the change in attitude and aptitude was incredible from the QOS game. There was rarely a moment where we gave in and I'm amazed we didn't finish that at least 3-0. Our defence was rock solid, our midfielders show great composure and skill to feed the forwards and apart from Baird the chances just kept looking like going in. A massive amount of positives to take from that and the boys should be immensely proud of their achievement today. Great to see a pretty decent turn out too

  18. In successive weeks we have beaten two sides in the top four who had previously beaten us (in the Pars case convincingly) kept our 5th clean sheet in a row, and seem to have found both attacking threat and a solid back line....progress in anyone's book. Bell rapidly becoming a bit of a hero? I'm up (and buzzing) for the Livingston match next week which I have a good feeling about...it'll certainly give us a hint of whether a run to the play-offs is a possibility (it's a long season I know!)....crowd of near 3000 as well. And my weekend was made all the more happy by a 97th minute equaliser for my other team

  19. Hard to believe after the team and Polworths performace someone should pick on this. No mention of some of the terrific forward balls, hold up play a distribution including the link up play sending mulraney off like a rocket. A terrific team performance, every player put in a great shift.

  24. A few weeks ago there was legitimate cause for concern based on poor play and poor results. Now there is legitimate cause for optimism based on better play and better results. Surely that has to be welcomed by everyone getting behind the push rather than bickering about whether fans were justified in posting criticism at a time when such comments seemed to have some justification. We are all fans of ICT, some are happy clappers who will never criticise no matter how bad things get. Others prefer to air their concerns and criticism. It's called free speech and this forum would be a very dull place without it.

  25. Want to say a Hugh Thank you to Lady F. She has very kindly just called me and told me she has a programme for me and she is sending it free of charge. I am blown away with her kindness. She is a true fan and a special lady. Wish there was more people in the world like this. I promised I would donate money to charity on her behalf and post the receipt on this forum. Thank you again.

  30. A good performance from most players and apart from Baird's lack of discipline and ability, ICT showed that we are making the improvements necessary. A big cuddle from Robertson for Baird when Robertson finally saw the sence in replacing him. The only weak player today was Baird!

    • Dundee United 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Hopes amongst the Caley Jags support were at rock bottom ahead of this one with the threat of relegation looming large. With all hands to the pumps, Shaw, Boyes and Ujdur were brought back into the squad whilst not really 100% fit. Shaw started as did Pepple and Boyes with Billy Mckay, Lawal and Danny Devine dropping to the bench. Cammy Harper was given the Captain's armband today. It's a daunting task going to the lions den to face title favourites but underdog is our preferred tag. Anyway, 252 of them turned up at Tannadice in eternal hope and Duffy heightened the intensity only for Louis Moult to level things up. That's how it ended, a result we would have bitten your hand off before kick off.

    • Inverness CT 1-2 Ayr United - Report
Having sat through one of the worst games for many a year there is little to hope for now apart from Arbroath to keep losing because we certainly appear to find it difficult to win. We have no game changers in our squad and our manager is playing the wrong type of anti-football to help our cause. Big Dunc thought we were the better team. Pleeeeeaaase, give me a break! We were second to everything and Ayr were always one step ahead of us after the first three minutes. SHOCKER springs to mind.

    • Inverness CT 0-0 Airdrieonians - Report
These two sides looked as though they could play for the whole of March without scoring. In terms of opportunities, the hosts probably shaded it, but when we did miss the first defender, crosses invariably went behind the incoming strikers. On the one occasion we got on the end of the ball Billy Mckay's flicked header was cleared away from goal by Kanayo Megwa.
Not the worst 0-0 draw ever, but scoring opportunities were at a premium. Neither keeper was overly troubled and this game had scoreless written all over it given the evidence of the first twenty minutes.

    • Inverness CT -V- Airdrieonians - Preview
Promoted Airdrie are sitting in fifth place in the table, just below the play-off places with former Caley Jag Nikolay Todorov getting amongst the goals and he will provide a big test for our central defence. We have found Airdrie a difficult proposition at times this season but we did win the last home encounter against them.

    • Morton 0-2 Inverness CT - Report
What a start for Inverness and Billy Mckay, who answered his abusers from last week by opening the scoring in the second minute, firing into the top corner after an assist from Cammy Harper. Robbie Muirhead looked to respond but Mark Ridgers was equal to his effort in the fifth minute. Ten minutes before the interval Sean McAllister curled in a low free kick from the edge of the box to double our advantage and open his scoring account at Inverness. Plenty of bookings but no further scoring saw Inverness pick up a vital three points in the relegation battle although we still remain in ninth spot but only two points from Dunfermline in fifth.
