  1. Sick and tired of referees directly affecting football results. Soft free kick led to equaliser. Dunfermline is another street-wise central belt team that: 1. foul and get away with it and 2. fall to get the free kick. Just feel like there is almost systemic bias against us sometimes.

  2. For 15mins in the second half we were on fire but that 3rd goal just wouldn't come and we paid the price with that last gasp equaliser. Ultimately our early season form left us with just a bit too much to do. Credit to all the players for the recent winning run though, they've been immense! Hope we can keep this squad together for another title push next season. Sad to say I don't expect we will and some will leave. Special mention to Higginbotham, I think?, who decided it would be a good idea to slam the ball into the home fans in the north stand after dunfermline's opening goal! Scummy wee nyaff!

  4. I like Daniel Mackay but he was the wrong choice to bring on when Austin came off. A player with a lot of potential but no experience or power to take on M'Voto who a couple of times just stood in-front of him. We should've brought Calder on and gone to a 4-2-3-1. Calder could've slotted into left back as well if we went to five at the back.

  5. Feeling gutted right now, still a slight chance we can do it. So close today its heartbreaking, you could see at the end what it meant to the players. Proud of the whole team, lets hope we can keep as many of the squad as possible and finish lasts games in style and make it to the top next season

  6. This has been badged as a "must win" game, but we could still pip Dunfermline to 4th place if we draw. If that were to happen Dunfermline would be on 56 points and we would be on 51. We would then need to win both our remaining matches and rely on Dunfermline losing at home to Dumbarton. With Dumbarton focused on the play-offs at the other end of the table, I can't see Dumbarton beating the Pars. Theoretically if Dumbarton managed a draw at Dunfermline we could still nick 4th by improving our goal difference by 10 in our final 2 games. On balance, I think it would be simpler just to win today!

  7. Huge effort from the players today. We were so close to doing it. Let's hope we can keep the majority of this team together and have a right good go at things next season. I thought Liam Polworth was fully deserving of MOTM. His workrate and desire in the 2nd half especially was outstanding. Also a mention for Nathan Austin for his goal, a brilliantly taken finish.

  8. We are going to miss out by a cats whisker. An amazing effort tho, given where we were just about 2 months ago

  9. However unlikely it is that we make the playoffs from here, important that we at least beat Livingston on Tuesday night to at least take to the last day. Stranger things have happened.

  10. That late late goal was a crushing blow and, although it's still arethmetically possible for us to make the play offs, realistically, we are consigned to another year in the Championship. However, the results and, more particularly, the commitment and performances in the last few weeks, lead me to look forward to next season with much more enthusiasm and confidence than would have been the case a month ago. If we can keep this squad together and start next season as we are finishing this, then Premiership football back in Inverness in season 2019-20 is a very distinct possibility. After today's results, another distinct possibility is the opportunity to beat Ross County four times next season on the way to the Championship title. Hugely disappointed in the points being stolen from us today but immensely proud to be an ICT fan. We may not now be promoted but we have at last reversed years of steady decline.

  11. Some folk are starting to sound like old firm fans. If it wasn’t for the refereeing conspiracy we’d be in the champions league!! The fact is, the league doesn’t lie. However admirable this run has been recently the damage was done earlier in the season. Some dreadful results near the start. We’ve had the ability to get into the playoffs, even challenge at the top. But too many poor performances, especially after losing the first goal in games have done us in for this season. Discipline was also questionable for half the season. I’d be optimistic for next season though, if we can keep the vast majority of the current squad. But we’ll have to wait and see what we can afford. It isn’t looking good in that regard either sadly.

  12. Heartbroken, tears, heads gone etc. There was only one team winning that yet for some reason we completely took our foot off the gas and started time wasting and we gradually became more and more panicky when we had the ball. Instead of taking the ball down and finding a team mate we started hurriedly clearing balls high in the air showing no composure whatsoever in the final ten minutes or so. Poor defending for the opener. Seedorf was being roasted down the right to start with so it was no surprise that the goal originated from there. Can't really remember it actually with everything else that happened during the game but I don't think Ridgers had much of a chance. Nice equaliser from Chalmers with a free kick. His set pieces were abysmal today but the one that did come off saw us bag a goal. Second half we should have been out of sight. Lovely equaliser from Austin and, as mentioned above, we seemed to lose our way a bit after he went off. Whilst Oakley still caused a few problems for the Pars centre backs Mackay wasn't as good as Austin was at getting the ball down and running at them. Our best chance to kill the game came when Doran worked the ball from the left to Mackay but he curled a shot just wide of the post. As renegade mentions I think we made the wrong subs today. Whilst Austin might have had to come off due to injury I think Mackay was the wrong choice (easy to say with hindsight of course) and Doran was playing really well when he went off which also saw us regress a fair bit. Calder just didn't really carry the ball away from danger when he took his place on the left flank. I'm not his biggest fan but with his pace Mulraney would have been a real asset with all the space Dunfermline were leaving behind their back line. Again, hindsight is a wonderful thing. In the end with Dunfermline throwing the proverbial kitchen sink at us we finally buckled. Couldn't see what happened but it looked like we failed to deal with a high ball pumped into the box and it was scrambled home from close range. Absolutely gutting but in a bizarre way I'm almost relieved as I couldn't take another two games like today in the next week. Hopefully we can keep a good chunk of this squad and have a good go next season but with rumours abound that the vultures are circling over some key players who are out of contract in the next few weeks I'm not too sure that we will keep said important players.

  13. I bet if we had been a goal down there wouldn't have been 6 minutes added time. The only surprise is Dunfermline didn't get a penalty. Still on a great unbeaten run but that does seem a small crumb of comfort just now. Time to become temporary Dumbarton supporters.

  14. Absolutely gutted. For them to equalise in the 5th minute of stoppage time is hard to take. Again the officials were very poor. The referee was stopping the flow of the match for soft challenges and for the stand side linesman not to see first Oakley and then Polworth having their shirts nearly pulled off their backs in the penalty box is beyond me, what was he seeing when everyone in our part of the main stand could see it so obviously?. So near and yet so far, let's hope we can keep the majority of this squad together for next season, and get off to a flyer. I hope that all the Vigures detractors could see that the match was crying out for some composure on the ball in midfield which Vigures would have thrived on.

  15. So proud of my team and the entertainment they have given us lately. Gutted for the lads. I'm not sure that I've ever walked up the road in such quiet before -everyone was so subdued. I'm not sure that Dumbarton will want to do any favours for us, but it would be fantastic if they did. Till then I'll choose to keep on believing.

  19. At least 3 or 4 soft free kicks in the last 6 minutes seemed the referee was determined to give the Pars the little help that they needed. Although it's fair to say the resulting goal was not very well defended on our part and we invited them onto us by sitting so deep as the game wore on. Thought we might have seen Mulraney towards the end try and stretch them a bit at the back. . Pretty f****ed off at the moment, stayed for the presentations that nobody really looked that interested in. Not surprising really.

  21. Dunfermline stole a draw. Austin goal was superb. Had loads of chances to go 3-1 . Good team performance and gutted to lose late goal. Think Bell would have been better put on later.

  22. Sorry don't agree Dunfermline had 2 extra players than us all game they had the Ref & main stand Linesman playing for them too . Gutted for the guys today as i think thats the best they played all season Cracker of a game but i felt it changed when Austin went off he really was causing them problems all game also there was no way stoppage time was 6 minutes

  27. Biggest game of the season so far. Much more important than the Challenge Cup final. Time to make a noise even in the Main Stand and cheer the team to victory. A scrappy 1-0 will do just fine.

  30. This is what Scottish football needs again ... what is the problem with standing? Every TFC home game I have been to for the last 11 years has been in the same section at BMO Field (113) which has always been designated a supporters section and where flags, banners, standing and singing have been not only allowed but encouraged. This is in a stadium with upwards of 20,000 in attendance for most matches, where alcohol is served by the bucketload, and where this section is always full to capacity regardless of the other sections ... There are no official 'safe standing' seats like you might see in Germany (although that is coming for the front 5 or 6 rows) just regular seats like the TCS. In 11 years I have never seen an issue with standing other than 'tourists' who either have not been to games, or who normally sit elsewhere in the ground, bitching about why they cannot see for those standing when they do manage to acquire tickets in this section ... they are quickly pointed towards these signs that the club attached to the stairwells and also the same info printed on the tickets ! Even REAL Tourists visiting from out of town - including 3 sets of ICT supporters I have taken to TFC games in the past - know to stand, sing and enjoy the atmosphere ! If you enjoy you are fine, if you get out of line you are dealt with by security or the police. On every visit back to ICT I am disheartened by the atmosphere in the stands and also the threat hanging over supporters if they dare to try and make an atmosphere. Some may argue we have always had the 'sweetie rustlers' and yes we did, and in my area of the main stand I would likely have been tarred with that brush, but I know that both myself and those around me did try back in the day to get things going .... and nowadays when I visit I just tend to keep my mouth shut. (although I did get a warning at Xmas at the Livi game as discussed on another thread at the time). Threats of FBOs or criminal convictions as well as over officious stewarding and in some cases unsympathetic leadership teams at various clubs have sucked the absolute life out of games at many stadiums. Its another attempt to enforce a one-size-fits-all solution to a problem that does not exist on any great scale outside of the usual two suspects. Kenny Cameron has been vilified on here since he stepped down but I do know he had broached the standing issue with the SPFL and was very fan focused (to the point where you could simply drop by for a chat !). The document circulated may have been mandated by the SPFL, or by some change in the handbook requirements to have a published policy about just about anything, but it certainly appears that the relationship between club and fans has reverted from 'Together-Ness' to being one of 'Them and Us' that existed a long time ago and did no-one any good and another reason why we need a cohesive, coherent and effective supporters group like CJT V2.0

    • Dundee United 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Hopes amongst the Caley Jags support were at rock bottom ahead of this one with the threat of relegation looming large. With all hands to the pumps, Shaw, Boyes and Ujdur were brought back into the squad whilst not really 100% fit. Shaw started as did Pepple and Boyes with Billy Mckay, Lawal and Danny Devine dropping to the bench. Cammy Harper was given the Captain's armband today. It's a daunting task going to the lions den to face title favourites but underdog is our preferred tag. Anyway, 252 of them turned up at Tannadice in eternal hope and Duffy heightened the intensity only for Louis Moult to level things up. That's how it ended, a result we would have bitten your hand off before kick off.

    • Inverness CT 1-2 Ayr United - Report
Having sat through one of the worst games for many a year there is little to hope for now apart from Arbroath to keep losing because we certainly appear to find it difficult to win. We have no game changers in our squad and our manager is playing the wrong type of anti-football to help our cause. Big Dunc thought we were the better team. Pleeeeeaaase, give me a break! We were second to everything and Ayr were always one step ahead of us after the first three minutes. SHOCKER springs to mind.

    • Inverness CT 0-0 Airdrieonians - Report
These two sides looked as though they could play for the whole of March without scoring. In terms of opportunities, the hosts probably shaded it, but when we did miss the first defender, crosses invariably went behind the incoming strikers. On the one occasion we got on the end of the ball Billy Mckay's flicked header was cleared away from goal by Kanayo Megwa.
Not the worst 0-0 draw ever, but scoring opportunities were at a premium. Neither keeper was overly troubled and this game had scoreless written all over it given the evidence of the first twenty minutes.

    • Inverness CT -V- Airdrieonians - Preview
Promoted Airdrie are sitting in fifth place in the table, just below the play-off places with former Caley Jag Nikolay Todorov getting amongst the goals and he will provide a big test for our central defence. We have found Airdrie a difficult proposition at times this season but we did win the last home encounter against them.

    • Morton 0-2 Inverness CT - Report
What a start for Inverness and Billy Mckay, who answered his abusers from last week by opening the scoring in the second minute, firing into the top corner after an assist from Cammy Harper. Robbie Muirhead looked to respond but Mark Ridgers was equal to his effort in the fifth minute. Ten minutes before the interval Sean McAllister curled in a low free kick from the edge of the box to double our advantage and open his scoring account at Inverness. Plenty of bookings but no further scoring saw Inverness pick up a vital three points in the relegation battle although we still remain in ninth spot but only two points from Dunfermline in fifth.
