  1. Who would I like to see at ICT next season? About 2,000 more fans would be good.

  3. Here are the draw results for 2017/18 season to see who receives Liam Polworth's signed shirt from this season just past. WINNER - SIGNED SHIRT : @The_Sponge ~ Please PM me for details on how to claim your prize The names in the hat for each of the seasons are based on the members who joined the sponsorship group each year (see topic linked below). The draw itself is conducted using a random generator website (www.randompicker.com). We have used this same site to conduct all our draws over the years, and have also successfully conducted several test draws on the current data that completed without any issues. The draw is completely and utterly random and no-one on CTO or within ICT has any influence or control over the names that come up. This is important to note as there are people connected with the club and with CTO who have subscribed and are therefore eligible and who will not be excluded from the draw. If anyone has any concerns or questions about this process please feel free to PM me or mention it in the thread below. 2017-18: List of participants 2017-18 Draw Result on the randompicker website

  4. Probably Dundee Utd, if they don't go up & Dundee don't go down...think that's the closest? Possibly Raith Rovers if they get promoted - I know that (assuming Dunfermline are still in the Championship next season) there would be 2 Fife clubs, but would assume Dunfermline v Falkirk would be ther derby game for The Pars? A lot of ifs & buts there!! Haven't even thought about Partick or Hamilton...bad memories of New Douglas Park (apart from the trampoline pitch) - been twice, Dean Brill got strechered off the 1st time & 2nd time was the 3-0 game last Jan...??

  5. of course he doesn't ... he has SK read it to him while another one of the team peels him grapes allegedly. although he always maintained that it was DP who was the techie guy.

  6. Straight from the horse's mouth - Robbo doesn't read CTO.

  7. In a way given that he was injured for most of the year, Elbouzedi is almost like a new signing..... next season could be the 'breakthrough' season

  8. Yes. Another player that has been a good surprise is Donaldson. Back when he signed for us, a Dundee Utd supporting acquaintance referred to him as a "bomb scare". He has become a worthy young player of the year for us.

  9. Lewis Vaughan at Raith seems to be a decent player. I was also a bit curious about Peter Grant.

  10. He's only 24 Hartley can't rate him think he'd be a cracking addition to our defence Hartley made the error of releasing Nathan Austin who's no slouch

  11. I recommended on another post Chis Duggan of East Fife 24 year old Australian scored 22 goals in 56 competitive games. Had an injury which was misdiagnosed for many years, last season was the fist time he has been fully fit, he certainly knows where the net is, would be within our budget and is a good age.

  12. Don't know if Grant is past his best now if Falkirk are releasing him. He was certainly a thorn in our side in our famous cup final victory.

  13. When is the first pre-season game ? I bet if Robbo sees the title of this thread and then reads it he will undoubtedly be thinking

  14. As long as it is accepted that if there is a legitimate view (which in my case there is) that a series of posts is designed to undermine the current board, then that needs to be highlighted. So also does the coincidence in time of a sudden and dramatic U-turn in the viewpoint of the poster concerned and that poster ceasing to fulfil a role he previously held within the club. Indeed, I think it is essential that ICT supporters - and equally importantly, any potential investors - should understand the context in which a number of hostile and misleading posts have been made. For instance, at a time when efforts continue to finalise the stadium transfer deal in order to attract money into the club, another thread which began simply as an unsupported rumour about an unspecified announcement was, by a single post, diverted into extremely unhelpful speculation about the club going into Administration.

  15. There's been widespread chat about him setting up for a withdrawal....he's as good as said so himself. He's essentially been writing off large loans the last few years which have been for stadium development work and when interviewed on it said it's all about getting the clubs infrastructure in good shape for passing it on to whoever runs things after him. I'm not sure he could do that off the back of a relegation, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility.

  16. Just a director?! To be honest, with your £££££££ being ploughed into the club, you should be made the club's life emperor!

  17. There is also the question of how having County drop into the Championship might affect our chances of promotion next season. If County drop down it will be very interesting to see how that will impact on Uncle Roy's benevolence. He will know that to get back into the Premiership he will have to further increase his spending. He will also know that with The Rangers, Hibs and Hearts all back in the top 6 he is never likely to emulate ICT's Cup victory or best ever league position. Being in the Premiership would therefore be a constant battle to avoid relegation. He might, therefore decide to ease off on his investment. I don't see him pulling the plug but I do think it likely that he would cap his spending and let the club find it's level with that. Even at this reduced level of financial support County would be significantly better financed than ICT and would be there or thereabouts for promotion next season. If he decided to increase his spending then they would be favourites for an immediate return. If we are realistic about looking for promotion next season, then I would rather have Hamilton and/or Partick in the Championship.

  18. Maybe the wider economy and community should have learned a lesson from the last time we were relegated and they were all crying about the impact....when many had done little to support the club themselves over the years to and since that point. Amazing how people seldom appreciate what they have....until it's gone.

  20. We have a core fanbase. Win games in the championship, extra 3-500 onto home gate. Lose games 3-500 off the average. If we win games in the premiership, extra 500-1500. Lose games in the premiership down by 500-1000. Winning run of games bring more fans. Losing run of games, loses fans. But the core support will always be there.

  21. I actually think there's every chance crowd numbers will be considerably higher this season. There was a massive drop off of numbers not just due to relegation itself but fans simply refusing to have any affiliation with the club after the whole Foran fiasco and the shocking way the club was run in the lead up to the end of the season. If you include also the boards ridiculous handling of the season ticket pricing at the start of this season and the subsequent furore that ensued, is it any wonder so many stayed away. From what I've heard and from people I've spoken to, I firmly believe the occasional fans are starting to turn their heads again and giving, even this late run of terrific form, are no longer feeling the embarrassment of being associated with a club that were in a huge mess and the inevitable disengagement that followed, but are now starting to take real pride and interest in the way the players and coaching staff have conducted themselves, especially in the latter half of the season. Finishing on a high on Saturday whatever that is, will give everyone a renewed passion for the club going into next season, and if the board can take the time and really think how best to price and market the season tickets and merchandise for next season, i believe we will have much more passion and willingness from all supporters going into what very well could be a very exciting year for the club

  22. Agreed. That has to be the way to go rather than signing thirty year old journeymen who may be committed enough but never likely to rise above the mediocrity that's marked their careers to date.

  23. Key quote for me is : Very raw but has all the physical attributes to be a real talent with the right coaching. If he has talent/skill then the rest can be taught/learned if he is willing to work hard at it and has the right attitude.

  25. come on Kingsmills - since when have we been a "family club"? Agreed, If true, I don't thing Goodwillie would be a popular signing.

  26. No matter how dire our situation, I sincerely hope that, as a family club, we don't stoop so low as to sign a player who has been judicially determined to be a rapist. If we did, I and my family, would not attend any games whilst he was on the books.

  29. You don't seem to have mentioned their inherited obligation to deal with the £422,000 loss for the year to last May, run up by the "previous regime", and with the £1.2M reduction in revenue for 2017-18, which was a consequence of the relegation achieved under the "previous regime" by a manager given a very long contract by the "previous regime", which also sanctioned the profligate wage structures implemented by the managers the "previous regime" appointed. I trust that everyone is clear that the "lion's share" of the £450,000 bail out - some £250,000 - was provided by David Sutherland. I believe that - against hugely adverse circumstances - a pretty good job has pretty consistently been done by successive administrations to achieve what has been since 1994. This has been made all the more difficult because the consequences of any error made have been hugely magnified by the highly marginal circumstances which have constrained successive boards. I would therefore prefer to concentrate on the way ahead rather than create recriminations. However, if you are as intent as it appears on constantly attacking the current board - who, we note, no longer avail themselves of your services at the club - then it regrettably becomes necessary to achieve balance and realism. That must be done even if it involves my reluctantly highlighting the less glorious moments of the "previous regime" - whose Cheerleader In Chief and Proclaimer Of Infallibility you were for some time. At a time when the club and the team are showing signs of recovery after a traumatic summer of 2017, I find your attempts to sow unhelpful division and dissent extremely unfortunate and to the detriment of the club - especially since these are arguably motivated by the personal agenda of a former club functionary. I note that you now appear also to be installing yourself as Cheerleader In Chief for CJT. There is maybe something of an irony there, given that in another thread CJT's objectives are quoted - by you - as including: ".... to be the vehicle through which a healthy, balanced and constructive relationship between the Club and its supporters and the communities it serves is encouraged and developed."

    • Inverness CT -V- Raith Rovers - Preview
The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.

It's Now or Never: That's what Elvis used to say. We are in deep trouble up to our necks with no signs that we can turn this around. Defeat to Arbroath could be the final nail in our coffin with only fifteen points available to us ahead of this game. The play-offs are looking more likely by the minute, but it's not beyond the realms of possibilty that automatic relegation is still an option should Arbroath beat us on Saturday. With the long suffering fans rapidly losing faith in Big Dunc, it's crunch time as Arbroath head North to the venue they won at the last time they were here. Sadly they come to the Caledonian Stadium off the back of a 2-1 midweek defeat to Airdrie, and we could all but relegate them on Saturday with a win. However, that's nothing to gloat about as we could be next...
