  1. With respect, I don't think the same is applicable in reverse. There are a large number of concerns which led to the calling of the Special General Meeting and these have been well documented in public on this forum in a number of threads. There has been no or inadequate response to these points from the Board or anyone else. Davie made the point that we all knew why we were at the meeting so lets just vote on the resolution. Detailing the concerns would only have served to embarrass the Board members present and nobody would have wanted that, especially as you had the courage to chair the meeting at short notice following the Chair's resignation. It can't have been an easy thing to do and I applaud you for that. Members now need to move on and work cooperatively together in order to drive CJT forward. As for standing for election next month I think it would be helpful for those considering whether to stand to have some clarification from the Board on a couple of issues which need to be understood before the working group tackles the mechanics of calling the election. The first is what Rules are in force and the second is what general arrangements the Board has for elections. As I understand it, there are 3 sets of Rules floating around. One set dated 2005 was approved by the members and duly registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). A revised set was approved by the membership in 2012 but never submitted to the FCA. A further revised set has been registered earlier this year with the FCA but without the legally required approval of the membership. These 3 sets of Rules all have different details about how Board Membership is constituted. The 2005 Rules state that the Board may have up to 12 members at least 2 of which must be co-opted members. The 2012 Rules state there can be up to 12 members with up to 4 additional members by co-option. The 2018 rules allow for 10 elected and up to 5 co-opted members. None of the 3 sets of Rules give any details relating to election procedure. All 3 state that members will be elected in accordance with the election policy adopted by the Society (or words to that effect). It would therefore be very helpful if the Board would clarify which set of Rules are in operation and if a copy of the Board's election policy could be made available as an attachment to a response.

  2. My memory must be fading, I can't remember having a favourite Caley player ?

  3. His expression is also way cooler than anyone else in the picture .... you can almost see him thinking how 'assertive' he would be had he still been a player

  4. I think this is where we post this photo ...... but in all honesty ... He will always be a player that divides opinion within the support. Never going to be a club 'legend' but should certainly be remembered as a skillful and important player for us. I have no animosity towards him going to County (again) especially as football is a short career and he has to look after himself and his family first and foremost. If Roy is going to dig deeper than us then he would be foolish not to accept that. Thanks for what he did ... no move on with our own squad re-shaping.

  5. I too wish him all the best. However, whilst booing our own players is never acceptable in my view, giving stick to those who have chosen to move to our local rivals, even for the most understandable of personal motives, is an entirely different matter altogether.

  6. Now I know this falls into the category of 1) looking back and 2) utterly ridiculous but guess which former ICT is soon to be out of contract...?

  7. Given the amount of times we played Dumbarton, Robbo had plenty of opportunities to see what they could offer. I trust he saw something he could work with. It's also a good opportunity for them, so they will be well motivated.

  8. Iain Vigurs would almost certainly be in the Top 10 "Good Guys" (players wise) I had the pleasure of working alongside at Caley Thistle and I would have no hesitation in testifying on his behalf with regards to how much he cared for what happened on the pitch every time he stepped out there; and how much it hurt to see us relegated last year. ICTFC certainly won't be a better place (on or off the park) for his leaving, despite what some eejits will try and make out.

  9. Couldn’t stand the guy when he was at Ross county , took a while for me to mellow. Now can’t stand him anymore again?

  10. Dumbarton are part time. They proved stubborn opponents for us. Tom Walsh will be highly motivated to be full time again. Kyle Hutton may or may not sign but after his time at Rangers he took some while to recover from a broken leg. I seem to recall him being a strong player against us this year in the games I saw. He too would be highly motivated to return to full time football.

  11. Very true. Even our higher profile pre season home matches have tended to be played in front of a scattering of fans in the Main Stand. Both Thistle and Caley used to get much bigger crowds when facing league opposition in pre season friendlies back in the Highland League days. Sadly, it did not take the vast majority of the Inverness public to become complacent about the standard and status of visiting teams unless it's Celtic, the Dons or whatever current legal entity is playing out of Ibrox who bring their own large numbers.

  12. The meeting was (for the most part) conducted in amicable fashion. In brief.... Resolution One, to remove the current board, was voted "for" by the members in person and by proxy. Resolution Two, to set a date for the election, was done so as the 19th June 2018. The board will remain in place until the elections (a requirement to protect the legal status of the organisation) and an election management group will/has been formed...and will include two volunteers who step forward from the floor. This will include representation/assistance from Supporters Direct. The board have asked that anyone who did not receive notice of the meeting get in touch to ensure they have the correct contact details (caleyjagstogether@gmail.com) if you are speaking to anyone who's not online then please assist them as best you can. Notices and details on making nominations for the elections will be sent out in due course. From a personal point of view, it was a disappointing that many of the people who have made a lot of noise (one way or the other) on CJT were not in attendance at the meeting personally, or represented by a proxy....some people would have been unable due to other commitments and/or geography and those are not the people I am referencing. CJT exists for many reasons, but above all else (IMO) it is the custodian of a 108 shares handed down by the old guard and carrying an enhanced (10%) voting right. It might sound cliched, but those shares quite literally represent all the blood sweat and tears that went into the formation of Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC. I appreciate that people will be looking at the society right now and seeing something they probably want nothing to do with, but it can't change unless fans step up to the plate to get it back on track....and once back on track, help it thrive. Right now it needs people capable of the former to come forward for the elections in June....even if that is just a short term commitment. There's 10 places available on the board, so ample space for those with the necessary skills.....and just as important, those with the necessary energy and passion to get sh!t done!

  18. Serving on the board would be a bit difficult...but I'm sure there are tasks that could be performed/assisted with remotely. It would very much depend on the new board, how they operate and what opportunities that may present.

  23. For the sake of moving to an election, we have to operate on the basis of the rules that are currently registered. Whilst we know there could be (is) an issue there, the registered rules would be the currently recognised legal basis for any business being undertaken at this time. That would only change (and lead to considerable further delay) if formally challenged. Co-opting can be set aside in regards to the election as the need to bring in additional skills or help cannot be ascertained until the board is in place and it falls to them to co-opt as necessary. That means there are 10 spaces available for election. With the option to co-opt beyond that should the need present itself, I don't see the number presenting any immediate risk to taking things forward. Given the nature of how the election has come about, the standard election policy is not entirely relevant/applicable. However, with Supporters Direct providing assistance as part of the Election Management Group we can/should have reasonable expectation that due process will be followed. I believe CJT provided the Election Policy as an attachment elsewhere on one of the growing number of threads, but attach it for convenience. 2012_election_policy.pdf

  26. Do we need another central midfielder? Beith, Polworth and Trafford can all play there. Hutton is also a bit older than the players we've been looking at.

As part of the summertime upgrade we are in the process of moving all pages from http:// to https:// . The original page we pulled through from the stats domain was http:// and the secure pages on the main site would not display it.

  33. We should focus on welcoming Tom Walsh & Angus Beith - 2 young midfielders - to the club & not get ourselves worked up about Vigurs leaving.. Vigurs is gone - all the best, Iain & hope we're back in the top flight before you are...

  35. Well NO surprise that it has gone to re-election. Hopefully there are a number of interested candidates next month to consider. If ever there was a time that we needed a strong, committed representation then it is NOW. There are a number of worthy candidates from the previous board and hopefully they will be strengthened by as many newbies as possible. But lets hope that the blend of old and new gel quickly and any lingering, personal beefs are put aside.

  36. looks like County are gonna be gearing up for an instant return which we should have done last season with the parachute payment instead of been whipping boys for half the season! And signing several players who'd struggle to get a game for clach!

  37. To be fair the same may be applicable in reverse. There was an opportunity for those who wished to vote against the board to make public their thoughts but none were forthcoming. I just hope that those who voted will be standing for election next month

    • Dundee United 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Hopes amongst the Caley Jags support were at rock bottom ahead of this one with the threat of relegation looming large. With all hands to the pumps, Shaw, Boyes and Ujdur were brought back into the squad whilst not really 100% fit. Shaw started as did Pepple and Boyes with Billy Mckay, Lawal and Danny Devine dropping to the bench. Cammy Harper was given the Captain's armband today. It's a daunting task going to the lions den to face title favourites but underdog is our preferred tag. Anyway, 252 of them turned up at Tannadice in eternal hope and Duffy heightened the intensity only for Louis Moult to level things up. That's how it ended, a result we would have bitten your hand off before kick off.

    • Inverness CT 1-2 Ayr United - Report
Having sat through one of the worst games for many a year there is little to hope for now apart from Arbroath to keep losing because we certainly appear to find it difficult to win. We have no game changers in our squad and our manager is playing the wrong type of anti-football to help our cause. Big Dunc thought we were the better team. Pleeeeeaaase, give me a break! We were second to everything and Ayr were always one step ahead of us after the first three minutes. SHOCKER springs to mind.

    • Inverness CT 0-0 Airdrieonians - Report
These two sides looked as though they could play for the whole of March without scoring. In terms of opportunities, the hosts probably shaded it, but when we did miss the first defender, crosses invariably went behind the incoming strikers. On the one occasion we got on the end of the ball Billy Mckay's flicked header was cleared away from goal by Kanayo Megwa.
Not the worst 0-0 draw ever, but scoring opportunities were at a premium. Neither keeper was overly troubled and this game had scoreless written all over it given the evidence of the first twenty minutes.

    • Inverness CT -V- Airdrieonians - Preview
Promoted Airdrie are sitting in fifth place in the table, just below the play-off places with former Caley Jag Nikolay Todorov getting amongst the goals and he will provide a big test for our central defence. We have found Airdrie a difficult proposition at times this season but we did win the last home encounter against them.

    • Morton 0-2 Inverness CT - Report
What a start for Inverness and Billy Mckay, who answered his abusers from last week by opening the scoring in the second minute, firing into the top corner after an assist from Cammy Harper. Robbie Muirhead looked to respond but Mark Ridgers was equal to his effort in the fifth minute. Ten minutes before the interval Sean McAllister curled in a low free kick from the edge of the box to double our advantage and open his scoring account at Inverness. Plenty of bookings but no further scoring saw Inverness pick up a vital three points in the relegation battle although we still remain in ninth spot but only two points from Dunfermline in fifth.
