Now that would easily make me forget all about Vigurs to County ?3 points

We probably couldn't afford him, but he would be an excellent buy for many clubs, a talented player. Would love to see him back.2 points

Now I know this falls into the category of 1) looking back and 2) utterly ridiculous but guess which former ICT is soon to be out of contract...?2 points

You might want to get in touch with Nairn County then before people start making plans for a game that might not be taking place.1 point

Players who have something to prove after coming back from injury (particularly those who have been released by their clubs) can be a great asset, as they feel that they have something to prove...Craig Dargo fell into this category, as did Mr Vigurs (this time around)...arguably, you could include Aaron Doran too (I'm sure he would have had a move away by now, if he hadn't been injured). Give the guy a chance - it's potentially a way of signing players that we may not otherwise be able to afford.1 point

I spoke to them once but I think I got away with it. But see those bloody Vikings and Romans?! ?1 point

Fortunately it's not about how their fore-runners behaved over 40 years ago, but more to do with how they play football now! I wonder if Charles refuses to speak to Germans!1 point

I take it then that the team now playing as "Rangers" , is a new Limited Company, and as no connection with the team, formerly known as " Rangers", . If so can the media stop referring to past matches and records of the former " Rangers ". If it is a new club as we all believe including the Rangers board,. Then all previous records etc. of the old club should not be referred too i.e. Talking of the number of cups won, or wins against Celtic. Maybe it is the media who need to wake up to the fact that old club playing as "Rangers", is gone.1 point

I notice some Rangers and Dumbarton fans online saying Kyle Hutton is a decent ball player but has had a terrible time with injuries. If he can get a prolonged spell with us, it might work out.1 point

As one of his supporter sponsors I agree with this. Off the field a throughly nice guy and on the field give 100%. Im not afraid to admit Im gutted at his going back over the bridge.1 point

His expression is also way cooler than anyone else in the picture .... you can almost see him thinking how 'assertive' he would be had he still been a player1 point

Couldn’t stand the guy when he was at Ross county , took a while for me to mellow. Now can’t stand him anymore again?1 point

People are quite right not to go to pre-season friendlies, they are complete *****. I used to go to all of them when I lived in Inverness, what an idiot. I once drove, on my own, after work, to Huntly, watched us lost 1-0 and when I got home, found out that it had actually been 1-1, I'd missed the goal by arriving late. Having said that, I do remember seeing Steve Hislop pinging in a 35 yard volley against QPR and realising that we'd signed a diamond in Ian Black during friendlies. So maybe I'm being unfair.1 point

I wish Vigurs all the best and am grateful for what he has helped us achieve. I also look forward to the outrage on these forums when he is healthily booed and abused on his return to TCS!1 point

A couple of seasons ago, it would be unthinkable to have a midfield without Draper and Tansey in it, but it happened, they moved on, and someone else stepped up to fill those berths, and now Vigurs has moved on and someone will step into his boots and fill the void. I would have loved Vigurs to stay, but at his age it will be his last big pay day, increased wages and probably a good signing on fee are not to be sniffed at. Our style of play might alter to fit the new players, but we have played in many different styles over the years.1 point

As long as we don't look like a The Rangers tribute group as we all too often have in the past. A stylish variation on red and blue vertical stripes with black trim will do nicely and reflect our heritage and, at least as far as Scotland is concerned, unique identity.1 point

Oh well, after the first leg of the Premiership Playoff Final, it's advantage Livingston, tipping the current balance in favour of top flight Scottish Football being played next season at premises known as "The Tony Macaroni Arena". Even by Livingston's supremely tacky history of stadium naming, this one (apologies in advance for the dreadful pun!) is a lot cheesier than most. So which of these two would you prefer to come out on top in this contest to achieve a status which now eludes the entire Highlands? Personally, I would go for "neither of the above". Firstly Livingston. It's difficult in Inverness to forget that Livingston owes its place in the National Leagues to one of the most disgraceful stitch-ups in the history of Scottish football. In 1973, an Edinburgh works/welfare team called Ferranti Thistle got into the SFL by a single vote ahead of Inverness Thistle in a poll which reeked of central belt protectionism. Ferranti then morphed into Meadowbank Thistle which moved out to Livingston. Now, TWO administrations later, so at the cost of other people's money, Livingston are pressing to get back into the top league. No thank you. Then there's Partick Thistle - a club which, in 2004, finished eight points adrift at the bottom of the SPL with 26 points - a total which historically is well below average for the bottom club. However that mediocrity didn't prevent them from dragging their relegation issue, kicking and screaming, through much of the Scottish legal system. It got to the stage where you half expected them to turn up with a QC in the dugout to challenge each and every refereeing decision. Eventually they lost and justice was done - ICT got into the SPL and the ultra-litigious Partick were correctly relegated. So no thank you again.0 points

No Pre Season friendlies have been confirmed yet. Message from team manager is that they are looking at the options available to them after putting out tentative enquiries last week.0 points

I thought sure it was Billy Mckay who had signed a year's contract. I'm also pretty certain he signed on for 2 years with them a year ago ?0 points

Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
tm4tj posted an article in Reports 2023-24,
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.-

Inverness CT -V- Raith Rovers - Preview
tm4tj posted an article in Previews 2023-24,
The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!-

Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
tm4tj posted an article in Reports 2023-24,
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.-

Queens Park -V- Inverness CT - Preview
tm4tj posted an article in Previews 2023-24,
Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.-

Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
tm4tj posted an article in Reports 2023-24,
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.
