  1. What is it the Chairman and Board need to speak, tweet or communicate about currently? IMHO they only need to communicate when they have something they need to communicate about, ticket issues, player movements (not bowel), disciplinary issues and fan behaviour, club promotional offers and the like. And I guess issues around club management, which currently seems to be appointments. It's probably asking too much to be informed about financial matters on a regular basis, in fact is there any benefit to that I guess that last major statement from the club was a couple of weeks ago about the abuse aimed at Liam Polworth, which was timely. I know from experience elsewhere that a Chairman engaging too much also gets abuse because different people read different things into statements/comments, so you then end up with bland comments whereupon the accusation is that something is being hidden. Are we concerned that there is a secret conspiracy to run the team down, and re-develop the ground? Ownership of the ground does seem like a festering issue, is this something that needs more clarity. Personally in response to Glovers post, relationship with a club is important (by which I understand that to be the emotional links, and sense of family/unity) but communications from the Board have no impact at all on me deciding whether to travel 500 miles to watch the team (nor 5 miles to watch my other team). Mind you a sense of unity usually comes from the team doing well in which case most people agree that the Board and manager must be doing something right! So perhaps we need to clarify what it is we are really after, is it supporter representation on the board (which isn't necessarily about communication, more transparency), or more Club participation into local events, or more (some!) Q&A sessions, or more social media interaction, or closer match-day contact with board members? Are members of the board seen as real fans or opportunists? What should the board do that isn't seen as cynical manipulation?

  2. What a great shame that we don't have the opportunity to build on this momentum quickly due to the international break. I can understand the Premiership being suspended but why does the Championship have to suffer disruption when so few players in the division are on international duty ? It would be an opportunity for the league to be showcased with highlights of all games being shown on Sportscene for example. There were four seasons when that publicly funded programme featured at least one lower league match every week. I can't for the life of me work out why they stopped.

  3. Sadly ( as I never thought I would).I totally agree. We were fortunate that the stars all alligned with our success but things have changed. To get back to these days we need big crowds ( not going to happen) or significant investment As for this thread. A lot of stuff could be sorted for no money whatsoever. Make fans feel valued and listened to. For instance takings must be down in sports bar due to the ridiculous sustem of having to hike through the main stand? That could be easily sorted. Then there are the serveries which have been taken in house. Advertise the fact. Run deals. The programme has gone online so not accessible to all. Why not sell advertising and have a free sheet/programme paid for by adverts? Free to all admissions. Simples. As for the supporters trust I can assure posters above that we are working hard to getting back on track and working towards good governance for an AGM before the end of the year.

  4. I would like to think you are being ironic but doubt it. A totally unnecessary comment based on no evidence at all. The board are just as much supporters of the club as we are. I have no personal connection to the board and will criticise them if required but comments like this do annoy me. Rant over.

  5. While I appreciate the doubling down on supporter agency, I am still not really seeing why: What is it the Chairman and Board need to speak, tweet or communicate about currently? They need to adhere to the club's Codes of Practice, specifically the Customer Charter, which states: "We are committed to ensuring that our supporters are kept informed by:  Consulting our shareholders and supporters through on-going direct communication and opportunities to meet..." 'currently' does not come into it - it's a constitution or function. It does not need any event, which takes me to your next point... IMHO they only need to communicate when they have something they need to communicate about, ticket issues, player movements (not bowel), disciplinary issues and fan behaviour, club promotional offers and the like. And I guess issues around club management, which currently seems to be appointments. It's probably asking too much to be informed about financial matters on a regular basis, in fact is there any benefit to that Nobody has suggested the fans should see the books in any post that I'm aware of. As for your conception of communication, I think you are advocating for a top-down, prescriptive, managerial and punitive approach. If that is really the concept to which you and others subscribe to then I am flabbergasted. Promoting a reality where fans are less informed, less included, less involved and less consulted [sic] is quite some position and I would like you to explain how that will be more beneficial to the club than the alternative. I have, in previous posts, explained that the will of the Scottish government, UEFA, the SFA, the SPFL, and the reality at many clubs opposes your model, and so I am not seeing how your democratic deficit is beneficial. I know it exists in societal institutions aplenty, but few have ever argued for it. You v 12,000+ supporters in a survey funded by SFA and SPFL. Again, you are attempting to neuter fan agency and I cannot fathom this line whatsoever. It is clear what my agenda is, I would like to know what benefits your approach will bring? So perhaps we need to clarify what it is we are really after, is it supporter representation on the board (which isn't necessarily about communication, more transparency), or more Club participation into local events, or more (some!) Q&A sessions, or more social media interaction, or closer match-day contact with board members? Are members of the board seen as real fans or opportunists? What should the board do that isn't seen as cynical manipulation? These are excellent points and I agree it needs to be negotiated There needs to be a supporter dialogue and a collaboration that leads to a fan-club model that increases attendances and that needs to be done sooner rather than later. At the Supporters Trust AGM in December these are good points to raise. A last word, support for the board and the questioning of fan motives is a valid line and not without merit; I'm sure the board do feel much maligned and the fans (enough of them) feel taken for granted. How that can be resolved and how we can (sadly) get to a point where we mimic how our neighbours got relegated and then saw a 10% increase (at least) in season ticket sales is what must be worked towards. As minority shareholders, and by citing the charter, it is surely true that supporters, as stakeholders, are not treated as you, IYHO, would have it; to paint the ICT fan as a mere day visitor/customer enjoying a moan is not just wrong but damaging to the club's future, regardless of incumbents past, present and future. 7. ICT Supporters Trust urge ALL fans to take the time to complete the Scottish Football Supporters Survey which was launched by Supporters Direct Scotland today. It has been agreed that the questions in this survey will be set for 3 years to allow proper analysis to be done on what progress is, or isn't, being made in the areas being covered. http://www.scottishsupporters.net/survey/ Survey closes 16th September.

  8. Reverting to the previous name has no impact whatsoever on the voting right and/or the fact that, as per the football club articles, it is held by the ICT Supporters Society Ltd.

  10. Are there any board members that aren't fans ? Opportunists ? For what reason ? Surely the only reason to be a member of a board of a club such as ours would be for the love of the club . Having met a couple of them socially I m finding it difficult to see the opportunities that could arise other than working for a business for no recompense . I m pretty certain that if anyone can think of any way we can increase our season tickets or attendances in general no one is aloof or arrogant enough to not accept help. Its not a them and us thing . We are all part of OUR club . We need as much positivity in this club as we can get . Here endeth my rant.

  11. My cousin and his son who were regular ST holders wrote to the Chairman and told him they would not be paying PL prices for Championship games. I suspect many others may have said the same which prompted the statement that prices would be held if we got up last season. Barn door and horses spring to mind. Perhaps someone is aware of the difference in ST sales?

  12. Thought we were magnificent yesterday. Clinical, quick passing and not too much time dawdling on the ball. Ridgers, Donaldson, Welsh stand out. Poli and Doran hungry for the ball. Great performance great result. Steak bridie is unusual but strangely tasted better yesterday than the same fixture last year ?. Let’s push on from there. Even cries of “ Ooh to be a Jaggie” which will please a few of my old pals from the other side..... ??

  15. No and every year we buy it! I do think there are good people working hard at the club but on the other side the basics are worse than ever and fans feeling taken for granted and distanced from the club more than ever before.

  16. We've played three games in the league so far - beating Falkirk 1-0 and drawing 0-0 with Ayr Utd and 2-2 with Alloa. Beating Falkirk maybe isn't the good result it seemed at the time as they look to be a bit of a shambles. Similarly, maybe drawing with Ayr Utd is a better result that it seems, with their recent wins over Dunfermline and Dundee. In the three league games so far we've had 40 shots on goal, with 12 of those shots being on target, 30% of the total. Historically a Shots on Target percentage of 30% is associated with being relegated but it's early days. One of the observations that Charles Reep made when he was initially analysing football statistics was that the more shots you have, the more goals you score. You can boil that down to the more shots on target you have the more goals you score - not all shots are equal of course, and a shot that's on target is a better guideline to how dangerous your strikers are than a ballooned 40 yarder that nearly hits the corner flag. Generally, though if you have more shots on target, you score more goals, you win more games. So far in this seasons Scottish Championship, here's the shots on target per game for each team, in the current table order. Ayr Utd 3.33 shots on target per game 6= Morton 3.67 5 Dundee Utd 4.67 3 Ross County 5.3 2 ICT 4 4 Queen of the South 6 1 Partick thistle 3.33 6= Dunfermline 3.33 6= Alloa 2 9 Falkirk 1.67 10 It's worth pointing out that it's very early days and that there are statisitical outliers - most obviously the game on Saturday when Queen of the South had 27 shots on goal against Falkirk, more in one game than most sides in the division have had all season. You also have to consider how good your strikers are - how many shots on target does it take for you to score a goal? So here is the shots on target per GOAL for each team, again in order of the current league table. Ayr Utd 1.67 shots on target per goal 1 Morton 1.83 2 Dundee Utd 2 3= Ross County 2.67 5 ICT 4 9 Queen of the South 3 6= Partick thistle 3.33 8 Dunfermline 2 3= Alloa 3 6= Falkirk 5 10 This table shows that when it comes to efficiency, we are very poor. Only the abject Falkirk take more shots on target to score a goal. If we were as effecient in terms of converting chances as Ayr Utd have been this season we'd have scored seven goals, and would most likely have won all three of our games. Do we have the strikers to make a promotion challange? Do we have the players capable of creating chances for them, are they making the best of a bad situation?

  17. Seriously, a lack of communication from the board is leading to a 1000 missed fans every week!. That, in my opinion is nonsense and there are many reasons for this, one of the biggest seems to be the lack of interest in their local football team by the good people of Inverness. This has been the case for many seasons and I wish I knew the reason why. As for communication from the board, I think some people want communication for communications sake. If there is nothing to say from the board then don't say anything as there are plenty posters on here who will criticise any message from the board whether good or bad news. This is however where CJT can play a big part in improving lines of communication between fans and the board. Is there any update from CJT?.

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.

It's Now or Never: That's what Elvis used to say. We are in deep trouble up to our necks with no signs that we can turn this around. Defeat to Arbroath could be the final nail in our coffin with only fifteen points available to us ahead of this game. The play-offs are looking more likely by the minute, but it's not beyond the realms of possibilty that automatic relegation is still an option should Arbroath beat us on Saturday. With the long suffering fans rapidly losing faith in Big Dunc, it's crunch time as Arbroath head North to the venue they won at the last time they were here. Sadly they come to the Caledonian Stadium off the back of a 2-1 midweek defeat to Airdrie, and we could all but relegate them on Saturday with a win. However, that's nothing to gloat about as we could be next...

    • Partick 1-0 Inverness CT - Report
Big Trouble Down the Dump: Billy Mckay was back in the starting XI along with Samson Lawal with Pepple dropping to the bench and Shaw out for the season. Both teams had seven on the bench with Roddy MacGregor getting a rare seat. Scott Robinson scored the only goal of the game just before the break. Inverness were reduced to ten men when Cammy Kerr was sent off just after an hour. Despite creating more opportunities, the points just evaded us.

      Meh!
