  1. First Polworth now White. For gods sake get a life. If these guys confronted their critics face to face they would crap themselves. Supporters should do exactly that..... SUPPORT.

  3. What is it in a persons psyche that makes them think it is acceptable to subject another person to abuse purely on their perception that they didn't play well enough in a game of football? I'm not talking about a shout of "FFS" or "What was that" or even a "You clown" etc that comes in the moment when there's been a loose pass or missing a sitter...I'm not even talking about booing your own team (as much as I disagree with it)...I'm talking about foul mouthed, nasty, senseless shouting at players. I've said it on here umpteen times before...but I'll say it again. There are very few players I have met who come off after a poor game and aren't feeling it every bit as much as those who've been watching the game. The players don't expect false praise or fans to blow smoke up their butts...they know when the fans aren't happy because there is no applause and no cheering....they don't need or deserve whatever other nonsense some people think should be flung their way.

  4. There's a few of them confronted me over the years, mostly for what other folk said ...... but I also agree. Fine line between abuse and criticism. Criticism is ok, especially if you have the balls to back it up or say it face to face. Abuse is never ok and some of the stuff thrown at the likes of Vigurs, Polly and now White is just bang out of order. The lad is scoring goals, they may not be goals of the season, but so long as they hit the back of the net thats all that matters. We are no longer a top six premiership team so expecting that level of performance from players we can currently afford in our budget is completely unrealistic. Robbo has to get the best he can out of the group he has. He has done it before and is trying again ... As much as we are all frustrated with all the draws, as someone pointed out in another thread, they are not defeats ..... a couple of wins and a few more goals and we will all be much happier.

  5. Exactly. I've never shirked away from stating on the forum that imo players are simply not good enough for the club, whether they are likely to read the forum or not (and if I was a player I would steer clear of reading the self-defeating crap that occasionally appears here. Football is played 75% in the head). But I draw the line at the type of OP made here. Absolutely out of order. Likewise abusing your own players on matchday. We're all passionate but do you honestly think it helps the player or the club? Jeez.

  6. I lost my younger brother to the same thing in March 2017. From what you say, you seem to have caught it early whereas he already had secondaries in his spine and lasted only 2 1/2 years. Let's hope so anyway, my brother met many people at drop-in sessions who had been clear for many years. David Steel was diagnosed around 2002 and is still with us. As, indeed, everybody on CTO is with you.

  7. I am a bit torn on White actually. His record speaks for itself and that would be enough to justify a start if Robbo wanted to go that way. Some of his touches were honking though, but then you get a goal like the one against Morton that was excellent!? CaleyD's post is a good one. Being a bit frustrated and voicing at the time of a mistake is natural but there is a line that people are crossing at TCS and sadly Jordan got it in the neck on Tuesday. Not nice listening to it and I wish folk would cut it out. "He used to be $hite, but now he's alright!"...lest we forget Sir Dennis didn't exactly have the best of starts did he?

  13. Very well said Caleyboy. I actually get the impression that there are a minority of our fans who would rather witness mediocrity so they have something to whinge about rather than success leaving them with nothing to moan about. As Caleyboy says, if you call yourself a supporter then support. True supporters support through thick and thin I think that some have been spoiled by our huge success in the too tier for a decade. We should back the team to the hilt no matter what level we are playing at.

  16. I'm so very sorry to hear this news Scotty. As you know we have first hand experience of this particular cancer and within the last 12 months I've lost my Mum and Uncle to different forms of Cancer. You are right to be positive as it is a very treatable type of cancer as long as you get checked and catch it before it spreads. Unfortunately Dave was in denial and refused to go to the GP (quite a problem with men in general) and once diagnosed it has spread significantly. I can't emphasise strongly enough that you must get checked. Your health service in Canada is amazing and I'm sure you will receive the best treatment going. Thoughts with you and your family but I know you can beat this xx

  20. A reasonable point of view. Personally, I would have preferred if he had remained and learned to be a bit more constructive and a lot less abusive.

  27. It's a little frustrating not to be a bit further up the table, but we're still very much in the game. Heck, if we were in Falkirk's position then I'd be wetting my knickers along with everyone else...but we're a long way from that and not even a third of the way into the season. The points on the board are fixed, they're done with, in the past....there's nothing we can do about them. However, there are still plenty of points to be won and we CAN do something about them. Believe ?

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

    • Inverness CT -V- Raith Rovers - Preview
The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

    • Queens Park -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.
