  1. We have at least 5 of the management team sitting in the dug out , yet not one of them can spot the obvious that as soon as we score ,we are at are most vunerable . Do they try and change the game, maybe go for a second, No chance,we defend on our 18 yard conceding possesion trying to run down the clock. Then with 89 minutes gone and the game slipping away they then decide to make a double substitution.

  2. Hopefully a real walrus. It would be much faster than any of the current squad. Probably more skillful and have more game intelligence too!

  3. So predictable. The sick twist was obviously conceding a winner but as hard as it was to take it's hard to argue with the result. The usual ICT traits from this season were evident - have a fair amount of the ball, don't create a lot of chances, miss the few chances we do create, score, start to stand off the opposition, defend deeper, defend deeper still, concede, try and get a winner. Queens best chance of the first half came when Todd found himself in a bit of space in the box but his low drive was repelled by Ridgers who got down well to divert the ball round the post. ICT struggled to create much of note as we seldom were able to attack with any real pace and incision and the Queens defence easily stood firm for most of the first half. The closest ICT came to scoring was when Welsh stood up a cross to the back post and Walsh arrived to header it back towards goal but the ball came off the bar and White and Doran weren't able to force it in from close range before it was cleared. A free kick from Polworth looked like it had gone in but sadly it skimmed the roof of the net. Into the second half and ICT started on the front foot. Chalmers found some space on the left flank and he sent in a lovely cross which just evaded White. An even better chance was passed up by McKay when he somehow failed to connect with a cross at the back post appearing to lose sight of the ball. There was then a quite bizarre and hilarious moment when Dykes refused to give the ball back to Donaldson who wrestled with him for a second which left Dykes rolling around on the floor in a heap holding on to the ball. Dykes continued to roll away from Donaldson still clutching the ball delaying the free kick. We opened the scoring when Tremarco, at the second attempt, crossed from the left and White headed the ball back into the middle of the box where Walsh strode on to it and lashed a low drive under the Queens keeper. Walsh had perhaps our best chance to extend our lead, and possibly kill the game, when he drilled a fierce shot that swerved and dipped before the Queens keeper fisted it (oo er) clear. Thereafter it was classic ICT as we decided to sit back as Queens pressured us. Out balls to White and Austin weren't sticking and any clearance from our defence was quickly retrieved and a new attacking phase started. Eventually the Queens pressure told when Marshall skipped down the ICT right and burst into the box and his low cross was met by Mercer who had ghosted in from the right to equalise from close range. Before you knew it Queens had scored a second. McKay contrived to give the ball away in the right back area and Dobbie was on to it like a flash. Cutting inside he then shot back across goal past a despairing Ridgers who flung himself to the right but couldn't stop the ball and suddenly the Doonhammers were 2 - 1 up. There was a late chance for ICT when White set up Walsh at the edge of the box but his tame effort was easily handled and before long the whistle went and ICT had, as too often this season, blown a lead and have only themselves to blame.

  4. For this game, read every other reaction I've posted to home matches this season! Am I trapped in some kind of parallel universe where I've to sit through the same pi$$ poor, action replay, performance every other week? Go 1-0 ahead then proceed to switch off and throw the game away. Does nobody in this team/management learn from their mistakes? Too many of this team look completely disinterested in winning games. The performance again today was ponderous and lethargic and lacked imagination, just as almost every other game I've witnessed this season. No point in raising your game for the local derbies but not bothering your ar$e for the bread-n-butter games! Polworth again the target for the boo boys when he was substituted. Whilst today wasn't one of his better showings, he was by no means the worst player on the park and imo doesn't deserve that treatment. Best thing he can do, for sake of his own career, is get out of this club soon as. The attitude towards him is toxic! Hard to remember a time I felt this disillusioned with the club.

  5. Quote Barry Wilson. We have not been good enough when we go ahead, to kill teams off. Yes Barry we know that, but what are you going to do about it ? Answers are required for the supporters!

  6. I think the time to change the coaches is now, we've stuck with this slow passing style attack since Yogi and the one guy that's still here is Kellacher. Time for a change, we're the ONLY team in the championship that once we get the ball and break actually STOP and reassess before slowly building up towards a laboured charge at goal. Both of QOS goals today came from an intercepted ball and a quick charge down the pitch, with some good passing and awareness but quickness was the key to both goals. I have never seen us do that in the last 4 years, we simply can't play that way... It always ends up stalling and passing sideways and out to the flanks before the attack fizzles out and its out for a goal kick. Throw all the new signings and exceptional strikers at this all you want, but it's the style of football we play and the way we choose to counter attack that is killing us and until this is addressed we will continue to be a mid table Cship side at best

  7. First the one positive; Walsh is becoming sharper as the season progresses and, if we don't add another forward in the transfer window; is a much better option than White. On the negative side, I can't remember a season in our entire history when we have squandered so many points from a winning position often finishing with nothing at all. I know that the quality of the squad is not what we've become used to but the players are often good enough to take the lead and the failure, far too often; to hold on to it is a failure of management and coaching more than anything It's looking increasingly likely that we will be spending a third successive season in the Championship. Whether Robbo is the right man to lead us into it depends, in my view, whether he can arrest this destructive tendency.

  8. Seasons done mid table finish again unless Robbo gets a striker in where's his contacts even for a loan signing we could've buried Queens with a better striker! So much for the players big talk never wanting to feel like they did after cunty beat them ffs

  9. Yep agree Walsh only player who looked liked scoring but thought McCart did no bad at centre half. The,rest lacked any drive or enthusiasm and to be honest I felt pretty cheated by there cant be arsed performance. Absolutely no improvement from last year. Roberston to me looks incapable of tactically winning a game and must improve over the next couple of games, as being put out of the cup by a junior team just cannot happen.

  10. I have been saying this for most of the games I have seen in the last couple of seasons, how come our opponents can cut through us like a knife through butter and be in our box in one or two passes and score or get a shot away, while we wait till they are back in their shape, pass it across the pitch and back, and then try to play through them, with no pace or desire? That's great if you have players that can take on a man and beat him, but we don't. The tactics are wrong, the team selection is wrong, but Robbo can't or won't change it. On the odd occasion when we have broke with pace, we have scored or at least had a chance, but these are few and far between. Maybe Robbo needs to buy a job lot of County masks, and make our opponents wear them, so the players think they are playing County every week and up their game!!!

  12. Inverness Caley Thistle first team coach Barry Wilson said: "We are extremely disappointed. It was a game where we felt we should have won. "I thought we were in control and then one of the worst things that happens is we score a goal. We went in front and we dropped off and played deeper - we let Queen of the South into the game. Again is this a joke? "One of the worst things that happens is we score a goal" How do we win games if we don't score?

  13. What frustrates me most, is that there is not a huge deal of difference in all the Champioship teams in terms of player quality. Each team ( as results have shown) can beat each other on any given day. Our players are no better or worse than the rest of the league. Where I think we continue to become undone, is our set up and tactics. Today and last week were a good example. Played better and conspire to lose. I don’t see any management injection that changes in response to the game to grind out a win. All I see is stick with the same pedestrian tactics and hope for the best. All players can do better (some more than others) but likely they are only following a set of instructions and set prices from training. I think it’s the training and tactics that need to change !!!!!!! What do they see that we can’t ????? And vice versa ?????

  14. You could be right he's been there the whole time with nobody pointing the finger maybe time to get rid eh can't be rewarded for failures! Defo need a change of tactics far to slow when it matters! I like Robbo myself tbh tho unpopular as he was I was a big yogi fan as well specially when u consider how quickly it went bad when he left! Kellagher out Houston in as assistant manager??

  16. As has been said above that hurt. First have we dominated having a goal disallowed as the ref positioning was poor to see it had crossed the line and hitting the post at the start of the second half. We played queens of the park until we scored and then same old same old switch off and sit in. Jordan white is not a striker his positioning, passing, forward vision and end product are rubbish and throwing a hissy fit every time he loses the ball for his poor ball control skills was laughable. Austin although he has been out for a while when he came on started to cause problems on the left wing and got some good crosses in. Polly was brilliant in the first half but seemed to loose his spark in the second and went back to his huffy attitude. Tremarco welcome back a warrior to the end. Not sure for queens second but Ridgers seemed to be delayed in getting down to the ball. Possibly his view was impeded but some brilliant saves again today. The others not sure if they thought 1 - 0 up sorted yea and medals time. Walsh who was everywhere today and his sweet strike for our goal loved it. Robbo didn't come up to hospitality today as Graham Rae informed us he was feeling u see the weather not sure what with. We need a striker. If we had won today rave was still on but now we will be lucky to finish 5th, promotion is gone.

  17. Another hard watch. We were trying to think when the last time we had a good 90 minutes at home, we gave up! It's the same old same old, we score, we sit back and let the opposition come onto us. Robbo has no plan B. He seems to not want to use subs early, even when it's painfully obvious that things need to change. We have too manysplayers who know they will be playing week after week, because of our small squad. It's high time to play the young players, they at least would have more energy and play for the shirt. We are now slipping down the league as the teams beneath us start picking up points. Watching football in Inverness has never been this bad, and we have Ayr next week, I hope Shankland isn't back.

  18. Terrible defending and glaringly obvious we have never replaced Raven at right back. FFS Roberston get your finger out and address the problem ,even a loan signing till the end of the season would be better than doing nothing.

  20. Having just gone 1-0 ahead all in my vicinity agreed that the next twenty minutes were going to be a nightmare...................... And so it proved. I know we have scored more goals than some teams, but man for man we must have the worst strikers in the Championship. How often did good opportunities turn out to be wasted opportunities through lack of application or choice. The cracks we once had are now chasms of drivel. Priority MUST be a decent striker. Someone like Dario Zanatta might fit the bill. Has to be better than our static striker who looks like he his running in treacle.

  21. Can I just say....... Tom Walsh was excellent again today. Turning into a very influential player. Not only in scoring the goal, but creating and setting up. Also good to see Carl Tremarco back in, his body was on the line a few times. As for the rest........ ?????? Where were you ??????

  22. Down to 6th in the league!!!!! If nothing much changes.... I only see us slipping further down. The current squad, set up, tactics are just not working and it’s no surprise we are out of the playoff places. I think today’s attendance was 2250 or there abouts ( hard to hear on the rubbish speakers) but how many would re-new a season ticket based on this seasons performance so far ??? I keep trying to remain positive, but without something significant changing, more of that dire performance like today is likely. Where is last weeks team attitude !!!!!!!

  27. Hallelujah! I have been saying this for so long it is the tactics to blame but nothing ever changes

  28. Don't think any of our players could be described as 'brilliant' least of all Liam Polworth, they all looked flat with little desire, whether it was tactics or attitude i don't really know but it's a worry how we can turn a lead into a defeat so easily.

  29. We are not a top team. On that basis, maybe we should try playing a different way. What we are doing, or attempting to do, now certainly isn't working.

  30. Nah you miss my point Alan, I don't think Robbo is a big part of this problem.... My interpretation is robbo allows Kellacher to run the bulk of the coaching sessions and decide the tactics and he picks the team. It's been the same way since yogi was here and we've had foran since then too.... Robbo is a good manager but I don't think he has a huge influence in the way the team are set up to play, that I believe us down to Kellacher. Everyone used to blame rice, we can't to that now and that's 3 managers in and all the same style of play only person that's been there throughout.... Kellacher. New ideas required from top to bottom.

  33. Has been said by many others and completely agree, the only difference now is we're losing these games. Disappointing again, even a striker on loan from one of the ugly sisters or Hearts, does Robbo not have connections there? As an aside any reason why Barry did the post match press and not Robbo?

  34. Anybody know if there are any clauses in this contract?

  35. That hurt. Finally, it confirmed that we are destined to be a mid-table team for the second season running. Winning the league has long gone and we'll need a very decent run to get in the play-offs. The problem is simple on the face of it, but very difficult to rectify: we regularly "win" games in terms of performance, but contrive to lose or draw them at full time. The difference today was - quite simply - Dobbie. What to do? A change of personnel will certainly shake things up, but be careful what you wish for. The club is not in a financial position to buy what it needs and pointing the finger at the likes of Liam Polworth is ludicrous. Maybe he needs to leave to salvage his career, but from what I've seen this season, he's one of only a handful that really has the ability to swing a game. If his form has dipped, the boo boys are responsible. We have 3 months to scrap tooth and nail for a play off place with a mediocre squad and little chance of a saviour in the window. It is not the fault of board or management - just reality. Good luck to Robbo and the boys - they're going to need all our support to stand any chance.

  36. They just seem not to have any football in them giving the ball away most of the time no idea trying the impossible I have never seen a football team lacking so much football what do they do in training if rumours are to believed very little

  37. Seething doesn't come close same crap same old tactic's same no subs until too late and they wonder why attendance's are so poor Brad is a shocking excuse for a RB but guess what he will start next week no matter what. QOS player's wanted it more pure & simple. Why are they not working on hitting the target on training ? nothing ever changes. I have run out of patience with the coaches they have to start accepting they are a huge part of the problem Yes White is not hitting the target nor is anyone else FFS Robbo you were a striker start coaching them to strike.

The wife says "See that guy there, he proposed to me just before you did, obviously I turned him down". Husband says "looks like he's still celebrating". My wife wanted me to put my referees kit on and have sex with her. She screamed and moaned to the biggest climax I have ever known her have in 20 years... So I gave her a yellow card for simulation

  45. I get rained on with reddies every time I mention Doran on here. At the end of last season someone posted that we should be trying to find the money to keep either Doran or Vigurs. It was such a mad comment - Vigurs was our POTY, the heart of our team, while Doran had managed 2 or 3 decent hour long performances having been injured for most of the season. Maybe I can look at this more coldly because I missed a lot of the glory years while my kids were wee - I wasn't there for most of those Doran screamers but I'm here now and he's contributing very little. We all know Mulraney's flaws, but the quality of the side has fallen so far this season that he would improve our team right now.

  48. 1000 mile round trip for that pisssshhhhh. I am sorry to say this but Robbo needs to push Rae for the money to get someone to put the ball in back of the net. I don't blame Robbo at all for any of this - he is trying to work with what he has got. I do blame Rae, and the nepitism of employing a third cousin twice removed, who are looking like parasites. Where is the better communication? Where is the seeking further investment? All I see is someone waltzing about as chairman, employing family (a waste of money that could be spent on players) and breaking strings of promises. I am sorry Mr Rae but it is most definately time to go! Let's get a chairperson who is dynamic and prepared to take real action. Sack the board now and let's start again.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.
