  1. Hands down one of the worst performances from an ICT that I can recall in a long time, especially that first 45 minutes. We were all over the shop. McCart, who until recently had been a very solid performer, was uncharacteristically sloppy with a number of sliced clearances and slack passes but he got better as the game wore on as did the likes of Trafford who was something of a headless chicken until we went to 442 and he seemed to be a lot more effective. White struggled badly until Austin came on. He (White) didn't get much service and when the ball did come his way he was largely dominated by Ashcroft who was excellent yesterday as were Connolly and Vincent for the home side. McCauley should have been sent off. After he was booked he committed two needless fouls that both could have resulted in a second booking so it was no surprise when Robbo took him off for MacDonald. Pars had a weak penalty claim when Anderson seemed to go down quite easily. Maybe any highlights will show something different but I wasn't convinced at the time. Second half Dunfermline started much the better side. I don't know what Robbo said to the players at the break but most seemed to be still sleepwalking when Thomson dribbled across goal then lashed a shot past Ridgers who seemed to be caught by a deflection or by McCart ducking out of the way or something. Disappointing goal to concede but we were lucky not to be two down when Connolly battered the crossbar with a lovely shot just outside the area. We started to come back into the game when Doran went off and Austin came on giving White a bit more support up front and we started to create some half chances. Walsh had perhaps the best opportunity for an equaliser when he drove towards goal and was afforded a lot of time and space to shoot from about 20 yards but he sent the ball well over. White and Mckay passed up a couple of decent chances to bring us back on level terms but they shot wide of / over the goal. A seriously disappointing performance after what was a good showing on Monday night against County. We were missing arguably three of our most important players in Donaldson, Polworth and Welsh however if we want to stay in the playoff spot we need to improve our performances quickly.

  2. Based on the rest of the teams in the league bar County and Dundee Utd most seem to have a balance of 1st team players and youth starting games. We throughout an 11 have a higher standard throughout the overall 11 to most but i dont believe our better players are as good as the rest. Most of our starting 11 would get games at other teams in the divisions but few would be standouts and those that would aren't in the right areas to win us games Ridgers, Coll etc. I'd like to see us lose a lot of the average players in the squad put the youth guys in and the wage saved to be put into bringing a higher standard of player to start in games. Ayr and QOS have poorer squads IMO but the better players in their sides would start easily for us. Charlie Trafford is no better than Jack Brown, Roddy MacGregor. Anthony Macdonald and Macauley were brought in to take the burden of young daniel and haven't yet shown why we are playing a 17 year old hearts loanee over one of our own lads to gain vital experience and Macauley looks no better so far. Mchattie, macauley and macdonald all are reasonable squad players but do little to improve the 11 as opposed to the squad and are simply a wasted wage imo when we could have allowed Harper, Macgregor, Mackay, brown etc to pick up vital minutes and experience. Are they ready yet? Maybe not but id sure as hell rather watch them play with the understanding its the long game as opposed to failed journeymen who are clearly playing at their level already.

  3. Ok, I'll bite. Your multiple accounts over the years have all ended in you getting personal with others and dishing it out but not being able to take it in return, then taking the huff, dishing out abuse and buggering off to P&B for a while before coming back and registering a new account all of which are pretty obvious to anyone who has seen you post before. All your other accounts are still there - just marked 'pending' until discussion with site admin. This is a private site, with rules. They are not very complicated ones, and if you keep wanting to ignore them then this account goes the same way. Your choice, not ours. be civil. We do reserve the right to refuse or revoke membership to the site ... its not a public service so the entitlement you display is unfounded ! If you think there is something wrong with any particular post from IHE or anyone else then use the reporting mechanism in place instead of hijacking the topic. The mods will discuss and make a decision. As the site owner, I can and will say that if you continue to bad mouth site users and try to moderate within topics by throwing out insults then we will simply set your account to post moderation. 5. We have no chance of promotion with this small squad if we cant beat Partick at home with all "key players " in the team Then the chairman sells a striker on deadline day to save a wage on an already threadbare squad whoever comes down if it is Dundee or St Mirren or whoever will have bigger squads than us and parachute payment we have dwindling fans and in all honestly no hope on a good day we play every bit as good as all other championship teams but sadly those days do not come around very often and it is nothing to do with how loud fans sing.

  6. It's a huge week for us now. Beat County and Morton and things will be so much more positive. Lose both games and Robertsons position must be under threat. 7 wins from 24 games makes pretty grim reading.

  8. I hope we miss the play offs as it'll be a real wake up call to the players, management, board and fans. Otherwise we are in danger of too many parties patting each other's backs that the season was a success and masks where we are. The fact we can even be considered in contention still is damning of the lack of quality in the league. We are ***** and our record and number of points show it - 7 wins in 24 isn't a level which should be deemed acceptable.

  9. In a word, this ? Very strange decision leaving Welsh on the bench and then taking him on for a couple of minutes at the death. To the clowns who slate Polly at every opportunity please note that this is what we'll be reduced to if/when he moves on.....and who would blame him. Absolute sickener.

  10. Well, Tuesday can't come quick enough for me lol so hopefully the lads are up for this and repay the supporters for yesterdays debacle and tbh, I think they will give us the desired reaction . Regarding the line up, I'd be inclined to go for a straight 4-4-2 attack minded line up :). Ridgers Rooney, McCart, Donaldson, Tremarco Walsh, Welsh, MacDonald, Doran Austin and White. If Polly is back fit then put him in instead of MacDonald and, likewise, if Coll is out, put in McKay. A lot of supporters seem to criticise Jordan from what I've seen on here, on Twitter and on Facebook but tbh, I don't think he's as bad as people make him out to be. Hopefully a few of our youngsters like Harper or McGregor get on at some stage to show what they can do :). I really hope the crowd is as lively as Monday night because, I thought they were excellent that night :).

  14. Who would you trust with this "judicious" recruiting wev needed a striker for 2 seasons and Robbo still hasn't found 1 the reason why we aren't battling for the title!

  15. We are a long way from being prepared for the Premiership but nobody in their right mind would turn down promotion. Even if we were to be immediately relegated the extra million pounds plus from being in the top tier would be a very welcome and timely boost to our depleted coffers and, even if we did go back down again, there would be another two years of parachute payments. More optimistically, you never know, the bottom few teams in the Premiership are not much better than those at the top of the Championship and with a bit of luck and some judicious recruiting over the Summer we just might survive and eventually prosper.

  16. I hope we keep our play off spot but I can't see it happening, Queen of the South are right behind us and one win puts them into the mix and given the fact we have been so poor recently its likely we will drop down a couple places and miss out. The fallout is a lot of fans will be fuming given that we narrowly missed out last season and will call for Robbo to go (but Im sure he has a 4 year contract and hell stay) and those fans will then not renew their season ticket meaning even less money.

  17. It’s gives the club an asset on their balance sheet and removes a debt in accountancy terms the club is no longer bankrupt. It stops the rental payments having to go through the accounts ever year (which didn’t get paid) which would be owed to tulocchs then requiring a letter of comfort to allow the accounts to be signed off. Tullochs could have called in the debt which would have ended the club. As part of the deal Tucllochs have also given up the naming rights to the stadium. This can now open up a lot of income if the club manage to sell these naming rights to another company.

  18. Our form at the moment is so unpredictable. We seem to really struggle to beat teams below us in the league, but have had a few good results against teams in the top four. The way things are going, I can't see us holding on to a top four spot. Some of the teams below us are starting to put runs together, Partick being one of them, and they have just signed a proven goalscorer, Scott Mcdonald, till the end of the season. Some teams in the league have gambled and thrown a lot of money in their efforts to get promoted, and it seems to be paying off at the moment. The problem is we have played it safe, money wise, and have lived within our means, which may be counter productive in the long run, if we don't make the playoffs and have shot at promotion. Another year in the championship will probably mean another reduced wage budget, players leaving, and the possibility of a poorer quality of player being recruited. If we are finding it hard to recruit players with the money we are offering in wages now, I dread to think what will happen next season, especially with the ever decreasing attendances and possible lower season ticket sales. We have to start giving more of our young players game time with the first team, and have them ready for next season, it seems the only way forward, unless we find our own Roy Macgregor.

  20. A change of strategy right thru the club is needed from playing staff and approach to how the club interacts. There are some who are not of the quality required, some who have gotten stale and over stayed and some who have no interest and others with no clue. If those present can't step up and address then wholesale change is needed but itll never happen so just got to lower expectations and accept.

  22. Sad to say it but we could learn a lot from County when it comes to being a genuine community club. Their chairman, love or loathe him, genuinely insured that his club genuinely engage with its fans and the wider community. We once made an effort to do similarly but the current chairman and board seems far more concerned about a few of his corporate pals than even making any pretence of engaging with the ordinary fans which, while not the only reason, is a very important reason why our crowds are dwindling and why many of those who remain are increasingly disheartened.

  25. You’ve only been registered on the site for 19 days so I can’t imagine you have had that much of a traumatic time. Back on topic, this result is not a surprise. The draws that we were hoping to turn into wins have in fact turned into defeats. With an improving Falkirk and Partick then we really should be looking over our shoulder. At this time I’d be staggered if we made the play-offs. Disappointing season to say the least.

  26. That's the worst away performance I've seen this season. We missed Coll and Polly as you would expect, but the absence of Sean Welsh had the most impact, his replacement charged and lunged his way around the park in a way that seemed to unsettle his teammates as much as the opposition. We didn't get the forward midfield 3 into the game at all, and when we finally went to 4-4-2 we looked slightly more threatening but without creating clear-cut chances. It could've been worse - McCauley should've been sent off and a better side would've added to their tally in the second half. We are a very poor side without those 3 players.

  27. What harm would it do if we went up and then came straight down? Assuming we didn't stupidly overstretch the finances in an attempt to stay up. Increased revenue plus a parachute payment for the following season, to be balanced against demoralised players and coaching staff (and supporters). I understand your point, and I'm playing devil's advocate here...

  28. On the bright side we are still in fourth spot and playing for a quarter final in the cup. Now a win on Tuesday followed by a win Saturday versus Morton and we are fair set. Now you wouldn't bet on that however it is easily achievable. I will attend both games and observe our transformation into challengers for cup and league. ??

  30. I dont think this is relevant as the club must abide by the contract agreed by both parties.

  31. You're so right, we should have kept a hold of a player who refused to play due to the cold on a number of occasions cause that is the sort of attitude that every manager wants in their dressing room

    • Dundee United 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Hopes amongst the Caley Jags support were at rock bottom ahead of this one with the threat of relegation looming large. With all hands to the pumps, Shaw, Boyes and Ujdur were brought back into the squad whilst not really 100% fit. Shaw started as did Pepple and Boyes with Billy Mckay, Lawal and Danny Devine dropping to the bench. Cammy Harper was given the Captain's armband today. It's a daunting task going to the lions den to face title favourites but underdog is our preferred tag. Anyway, 252 of them turned up at Tannadice in eternal hope and Duffy heightened the intensity only for Louis Moult to level things up. That's how it ended, a result we would have bitten your hand off before kick off.

    • Inverness CT 1-2 Ayr United - Report
Having sat through one of the worst games for many a year there is little to hope for now apart from Arbroath to keep losing because we certainly appear to find it difficult to win. We have no game changers in our squad and our manager is playing the wrong type of anti-football to help our cause. Big Dunc thought we were the better team. Pleeeeeaaase, give me a break! We were second to everything and Ayr were always one step ahead of us after the first three minutes. SHOCKER springs to mind.

    • Inverness CT 0-0 Airdrieonians - Report
These two sides looked as though they could play for the whole of March without scoring. In terms of opportunities, the hosts probably shaded it, but when we did miss the first defender, crosses invariably went behind the incoming strikers. On the one occasion we got on the end of the ball Billy Mckay's flicked header was cleared away from goal by Kanayo Megwa.
Not the worst 0-0 draw ever, but scoring opportunities were at a premium. Neither keeper was overly troubled and this game had scoreless written all over it given the evidence of the first twenty minutes.

    • Inverness CT -V- Airdrieonians - Preview
Promoted Airdrie are sitting in fifth place in the table, just below the play-off places with former Caley Jag Nikolay Todorov getting amongst the goals and he will provide a big test for our central defence. We have found Airdrie a difficult proposition at times this season but we did win the last home encounter against them.

    • Morton 0-2 Inverness CT - Report
What a start for Inverness and Billy Mckay, who answered his abusers from last week by opening the scoring in the second minute, firing into the top corner after an assist from Cammy Harper. Robbie Muirhead looked to respond but Mark Ridgers was equal to his effort in the fifth minute. Ten minutes before the interval Sean McAllister curled in a low free kick from the edge of the box to double our advantage and open his scoring account at Inverness. Plenty of bookings but no further scoring saw Inverness pick up a vital three points in the relegation battle although we still remain in ninth spot but only two points from Dunfermline in fifth.
