  1. I certainly had a good time celebrating it last year. Nice to have something positive and any silverware is very welcome. Don't understand the moans.

  2. Maybe not our best performance but to secure all three points after the massive effort put in on Tuesday is a credit to everyone. With other results meaning that we have put a bit of clear water between ourselves and the challengers for the final play off spot it caps one of the best weeks we have enjoyed in quite a while. A repeat of victories midweek and at the weekend next week is not beyond us and would build up huge momentum as we reach the business end of the season.

  4. Find it bizarre that any ICT fan is considering going to this game irrespective of what end they go in. If you've got the cash burning in your pocket get along to the Partick game on the Friday or buy an ICT strip or just do something to support the club. They need the cash and far better you put it directly into the club itself some other way than going to a game that has nothing to do with ICT even if it is being held at our ground.

  5. Why should some people change their ways on this forum. Lets cheese off anybody who tries to bring about positives.

  6. County play Connah's Quay in the Challenge Cup Final at the TCS. Anyone up for going in the Quay end to cheer them on til the final whistle? ?

  7. I have to agree with the posts already made about it being a long 1-0. At halftime I even mentioned to the guy in the pie stand that it was a pretty boring game to watch, but the longer it went on I realised that the guys were knackered and, in at least one case (Coll) not 100% fit. The win is all that mattered today, I’m happy with that and willing to put today’s performance down to fatigue and move on. Hey, at least it wasn’t a draw!!

  8. I have finally found my password for the site and want to wish you all the best Scotty. I've never met you but when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2015 , I found that I spent lots of time on CaleythistleOnline during my treatment and recovery and came into contact with lots of lovely supportive people (special mention to Scarlet Pimple). I have just been for my annual check up and that went well. I don't imagine that anyone is quite as relaxed again about their health after a cancer diagnosis, but it certainly makes you appreciate what you've got and enjoy life. I hope your treatment is going well.

  9. A very hard fought 3 points. I worry when we score so early, as we tend to retreat further and further back as the game goes on. We need to look after the ball a lot better instead of just kicking it aimlessly up the park. But a wins a win, and a lot of the other results went our way today.

  10. Going back to the initial suggestion, wouldn't it be fun to show a spot of Highland hospitality (the Highlands are ours after all) and fill the Connah's Quay end at this match. We could help to provide them with a record breaking crowd for their game and prevent County fans from taking over at our gaff. We could wear their colours and enjoy the carnival atmosphere of cup final day without any of the stress. Andy Morrison speaks fondly of Inverness on the Nomad's website, but is also disappointed that the game is so far from home for his team's fans. Let's make him proud to come from here by supporting his team when they visit us.

  12. Winning that cup initiated the good run to the end of last season. Don't knock anything that can boost a team's confidence!

  13. I started reading your italicized post , wondering why it was such, and I became quite disinterested, quite quickly, so skipped to the bottom and found that you were 'off to the races '. Kind of missed your point what with the italicized waffling. Oh, and here's an emoji. ? Enjoy.

  16. You know what, if we could experience last night on a more regular basis with football passion and crowd atmosphere i doubt if anyone would be bothered who was on the board or how they performed.

  17. After stroking my chin for a while, I agree with you ocg. I don't think there is anything much between the teams, as we have seen, but as he admits we are better managed (take note, doubters), and have most often played the better football in these classic derbies. The first half of the proposition is their comfort blanket. I prefer our route of finding the rough diamonds and polishing them, rather than splashing out on already known players at greater expense and not always for any greater benefit. JW just keeps getting better. The shift he puts in, not just in attack, is inspiring. The pressure on those penalty takers must have been nerve jangling. Hats off.

  18. Still basking this morning in that warm feeling of Scottish Cup success. btw, who scored our 5th penalty? (as I said on another post, my internet went down at the crucial moment). Great performance by all 5 penalty takers in what must have been a hugely pressurised situation. Not forgetting, of course, Mark Ridgers contribution in saving one. Well done again to all concerned.

  19. Thats my problem with taking him on loan. That development in his game from match experience will benefit hearts when he returns in summer. It's exactly that experience that our own youngsters need to develop them. If he made a difference consistently and added real quality to push us to promotion great but it just isn't the case.

  21. County were tired as well...they scored 4. I guess we are guilty as Gardyne said.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

    • Inverness CT -V- Raith Rovers - Preview
The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

    • Queens Park -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.
