  1. Great to see folk so up for a trip to Hampden again (as they should be) but don't forget we've got a load of equally important games coming up in the league so let's get along to TCS or to some of the away games between now and mid April to get behind the team.

  2. I usually vote but, today all ICT were top class and deserve full marks. So, I will not be voting tonight. Full marks to all 11, the subs, and Robbo and Kell - the celebrations were great and all the travelling awayday fans had a great day.

  6. I feel obliged to start this thread in praise of John Robertson and how he set us up today, imho, he got it spot on. As most of you know, I am not always Robbo's biggest supporter so by starting this, I'm kind of admitting my errors regarding that. I spoke with the site manager last week and basically apologised for some of my posts and reactions in the past and we came to a mutual agreement that, after a bad result, I will leave it a day or two before posting, in order to calm down. I thanked him and all the mods for being reasonable with me so, I promise them all that I will not be a pain anymore. Anyway, back to today, I say everyone involved with the club deserve credit for this cup run :ictscarf:.

  8. As everyone is entitled to their own valued opinion I ll leave the answer to the question to yourselves but I would say that but on the basis of the context of the stories and my recollection of them, I m no sure where I m sitting. The Pied Piper memorized poor unsuspecting innocent youngsters into something and somewhere they didnt know where they were going and when they got there didnt want to be. Dinna think there are alot of poor unsuspecting innocents here ! The Samaritan. The victim of a savage assault was beaten and stripped and left to die. Clearly in need of immediate help his fellow Jews, even a priest, walked by and did nothing , leaving him to die . The only one that did anything was a Samaritan. And the Samaritans and Jews hated each other, for some reason, so no I m no the Samaritan On the matter of crowd funding I m going to push forward with this cos there is still no sign of the Fairy Godmother appearing on the horizon from Far Far away Land yet and in the absence of this contingency plans have to be made. While Rome burns we cannae be fiddling. Positive steps need to be taken and we need to do them as soon as possible.

  9. After watching the game against Dunfermline then on to beat County in the next game, this was so so similar. Robbo got it spot on. The Tuesday performance was a gear below that yesterday. He gave United something on Tuesday to take it all back yesterday. Our lads were immense. Fortress Tannadice ! Played them off the park from start to finish. It indeed is a fine day to be in Dundee ! Perfect !

  11. Caley D What would it cost to have it framed, with glass added ,to preserve it for the future with an intent to hand it over to the club. It does appear to be a largish item but please contact me by email or phone to discuss the cost of full and proper framing as above and I will be happy to make a significant contribution to your kitty for this purpose. 14. Not often that I hope for a Rangers victory but an Old Firm clash would guarantee the other semi final selling out which would mean us netting the best part of quarter of a million pounds from the semis which will go some way to plugging our financial black hole.

  17. Hearts and Aberdeen have both relied on waking up a large sleeping support who had become disillusioned. Hearts foundation are not funding the team or youth...they are paying back Ann Budge and will ultimately have majority ownership in return. The club itself is currently running within it's means without that funding going to it. Aberdeen have the carrot of a new stadium/facilities to get people interested and involved. Motherwell and St Mirren situations are more on a parallel with ours...but both plans to move towards fan funding involve fan ownership. All if the above 4 scenarios have relied upon an element of cash up front and/or assistance from a wealthy benefactor to become a reality before any additional fan funding is/will kick in. Setting aside my own personal views (which you are aware of), I don't think there's any route towards the kind of community funding you're talking about without a move towards fan ownership...and I don't mean the half baked community ownership model that the Chairman talked about at the last AGM which seemed little more than an attempt to cap everyone elses voting right, whilst maintaining their own. Perhaps Muirfield Mills could make a gesture of goodwill, and demonstrate their involvment is not about ego and power, by passing back the 700,000+ shares they got control of for £1 (and which were previously tied up with the stadium ownership) to the club. I think that could/would prove every bit as vital to securing future investment as Tullochs gifting back the stadium itself.

  19. Have to be clear with this, a west coast problem? Don't we continually not comment on the hoards of buses that leave the entirety of towns around Scotland to go watch the two vile clubs. Have we not listened to both these clubs away fans sing anti catholic and anti protestant songs at us, and often when they were playing on our turf they had a lot of "local" fans in their ranks. It is a Scottish problem, but it is almost exclusively linked to the two biggest clubs ( although you cannot exclude the capitals big two also, but to a lesser extent ) I think the only way to really tackle this is to have a line drawn, Tuesday this week, all clubs informed they lose gate receipts for the game involved, so clubs are fined in a financially fair way in affordability. repeat offenders, close the stands for home fans for the repeat offending teams next home game, away fans still allowed into the game. Then if they dont learn, dock them points, 1, 3, 5, or 10 points. It is the only way, hurt them so hard that the sensible majority turn on the senseless minority. Celtic fans are one of the most fined in European competition, where The Scottish authorities let them get away with it. Rangers fans warned to behave today by the club, yet seats ripped out and thrown at Aberdeen fans today, who were doing the same! Sectarian singing. coin throwing, bottles of Buckfast thrown at players! Both have been guilty repeatedly, so clean slate for all clubs, as from Tuesday it would be down to them, and lets rid this problem from our game. Only one thing will stop them, hurt them, and the good fans ( of which I'm sure there are some ) will win eventually, or the clubs will certainly act to rid the problem as they wont want to lose the League because of these idiots and their own fans would turn on them

  29. We really deserved that. A great team effort. I must admit I was worried when I saw Trafford was starting, but what a performance. Equally when I saw the formation with Chalmers wide right, I was wondering what we were playing at, but a stroke of genius from Robbo. What a goal and if he had not hit the ball so sweetly, his second effort would surely have gone in too. Doran was immense. White has been growing on me, and is clearly far more confident than earlier in the season. Polworth and Welsh also had great games in the middle. The defence was solid, and must have had one of their easiest afternoons for a long time. As for the "penalty" and the "offside", justice was done! Roll on a day out at Hampden!

  31. So do you think that a similar idea to the aberDNA would appeal ? Im trying to find the best way to put it forward and it would be good to try and copy the best bits of other clubs initiatives to make our as good as we can get. Attractive for our fans. Agree that the funds should be ring fenced for what they are being put in for, be that the Youth system or directly to the players budget. I m sure the Players budget would be the more appealing as the results of the donations would be almost immediately evident. Hopefully ! If anyone has knowledge of other clubs foundations etc please let me know your thoughts on them. Hit or miss.

  33. I will be there but I do think that there might be some merit in having two leg semi finals, home and away, like they do in the English League Cup so that fans who can't, for whatever reason, travel can attend. I would still pool the income so that teams with smaller grounds don't lose out. Hampden could be kept for the final which would make the final even more special.

  39. Watched the game all the way from France (I recently moved to St Etienne), what an unbelievable performance. Some of the best football I've seen from us since Yogi was at the helm. A brilliant mix of doing the ugly stuff well and showing attacking intent. White is not the most elegant but he is definitely a handful, he held off the defender on a number of occasions. Trafford battled for everything, Doran wreaked havoc, Polworth was always a threat, Ridgers made some really important saves. Absolutely buzzing. I'll be booking flights back home for the trip to Hampden!

  40. Not a bit condescending, totally. The guy really thinks he's something special but what a total arse he really is. Maybe just sneaks ahead of Gardyne as the biggest tool in the Championship. Great performance by all and totally agree Jordan White was unplayable today.

  42. A great all round performance from a small squad who ran all day for the cause despite playing two games a week for consecutive weeks. We were the better team by far and Doran's extra time winner was the best it felt to be an ICT fan in two years. I don't want to dwell for too long on anything other than our superb whole hearted performance but it would be neglectful to gloss over the fact that we were nearly robbed of our rightful place in the semi finals by one very poor and one utterly abysmal decision by the officials. After unchecked sectarian conduct, the performance of our officials comes a very close second to being Scottish football's greatest shame. It's great to be in the semi finals and the cash will be a lifeline. If I am being honest, I thought that our most realistic chance of a Hampden visit would be drawing Queens Park in the Challenge Cup. While it's great to have a Hampden semi to look forward to but we can't let it distract from the primary task of fending off resurgent Dunfermline Athletic for the final play off place. Continue to play like we did today and that route back to the Premiership is still very much open to us. Especially with the magnificent Mr Doran back to something very close to his pre injury best. Happy days !

  44. Still buzzing! If we can play with that commitment for the rest of the season we can beat anybody. Play offs should hold no fears for us now. Well done to all the team. They played today as if they really wanted it more than Utd. Roll on Hampden, and the rest of the season.

  49. personally i think that if we did not have the old firm in the Scottish football pyramid we would become similar to the welsh/Irish leagues and i think most fans would love it. It would be hugely competetive and there would be more chance to win trophies. Granted the finances that teams would have would probably be a lot lower and the quality of football may drop too, but everyone that loves their team would continue to support them and enjoy the competetiveness that this would bring.

  50. I have to admit having lived in Aberdeen and now Angus for past two years this is similar to the aberDNA idea Aberdeen fc introduced at the start of this season. Over 11000 AFC fans signed up to a 2 year commitment and got certain benefits like season ticket discount, merchandise discount entered into a draw for hospitality chance for juniors to win a mascot package discounts to cup games and they were given different levels they could donate monthly from £10 to I believe £50 a month those on the higher donations were also given a free home shirt. Yes we are smaller, we are not going to get the 100,000 + quid this generates for Aberdeen but it has been ring fenced for the Aberdeen playing budget. If you could ask the fans what they would like the money to be contributing towards, what they would like to get back from the scheme and what level of contributions could be made, then devise a plan and present that to the fan base, hopefully It would invigorate many among the not only regular attendees but folk like myself who live large distances way to help contribute regularly towards the success of the club in the future?

    • Dundee United 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Hopes amongst the Caley Jags support were at rock bottom ahead of this one with the threat of relegation looming large. With all hands to the pumps, Shaw, Boyes and Ujdur were brought back into the squad whilst not really 100% fit. Shaw started as did Pepple and Boyes with Billy Mckay, Lawal and Danny Devine dropping to the bench. Cammy Harper was given the Captain's armband today. It's a daunting task going to the lions den to face title favourites but underdog is our preferred tag. Anyway, 252 of them turned up at Tannadice in eternal hope and Duffy heightened the intensity only for Louis Moult to level things up. That's how it ended, a result we would have bitten your hand off before kick off.

    • Inverness CT 1-2 Ayr United - Report
Having sat through one of the worst games for many a year there is little to hope for now apart from Arbroath to keep losing because we certainly appear to find it difficult to win. We have no game changers in our squad and our manager is playing the wrong type of anti-football to help our cause. Big Dunc thought we were the better team. Pleeeeeaaase, give me a break! We were second to everything and Ayr were always one step ahead of us after the first three minutes. SHOCKER springs to mind.

    • Inverness CT 0-0 Airdrieonians - Report
These two sides looked as though they could play for the whole of March without scoring. In terms of opportunities, the hosts probably shaded it, but when we did miss the first defender, crosses invariably went behind the incoming strikers. On the one occasion we got on the end of the ball Billy Mckay's flicked header was cleared away from goal by Kanayo Megwa.
Not the worst 0-0 draw ever, but scoring opportunities were at a premium. Neither keeper was overly troubled and this game had scoreless written all over it given the evidence of the first twenty minutes.

    • Inverness CT -V- Airdrieonians - Preview
Promoted Airdrie are sitting in fifth place in the table, just below the play-off places with former Caley Jag Nikolay Todorov getting amongst the goals and he will provide a big test for our central defence. We have found Airdrie a difficult proposition at times this season but we did win the last home encounter against them.

    • Morton 0-2 Inverness CT - Report
What a start for Inverness and Billy Mckay, who answered his abusers from last week by opening the scoring in the second minute, firing into the top corner after an assist from Cammy Harper. Robbie Muirhead looked to respond but Mark Ridgers was equal to his effort in the fifth minute. Ten minutes before the interval Sean McAllister curled in a low free kick from the edge of the box to double our advantage and open his scoring account at Inverness. Plenty of bookings but no further scoring saw Inverness pick up a vital three points in the relegation battle although we still remain in ninth spot but only two points from Dunfermline in fifth.
